Disneyland parking

I have a parking question.
This is our first time going to Disneyland (we normaly do WDW).
We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn across the street.
Going with us is my 83 year old Mother.

My question is:
1) Can u pull up close to the gates to drop off?
2) How close is the location to rent ECVs?

1. I've dropped off my DM before & the drop off spot on Harbor. I don't remember the exact spot, but it's a little bit passed the bus drop off area.

2. You can rent the ECV's right next to the Disneyland main entrance gates on the right hand side.

We took MIL who is in her late 60s last April. The distance from the drop off on Harbor to where ECVs are rented is according to gmaps roughly 327 meters/.2 miles: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4096829

If you won't be attending until later in the day it would be worth a member of your party who is over 18 to go up first thing in the morning and rent an ECV, then have them mind it until you arrive later in the day - we did this without any problems. Same with if you want to exit the parks you'll need to have them mind it for you and they will charge it at the same time, or say you're going into Whitewater snacks for lunch, you'll need to park it there and walk the 100 or so meters. The ECVs cannot be taken outside security.

fyi you can rent an ECV from an outside company, this is suggested as DLR only has a limited number of ECV's available. You can have the rental delivered to your hotel most times.

It's about 100 yards from the public drop off spot.

To get to this spot go South on Harbor from the fairfield. Go through the light that has the crosswalk straight into DLR. The very next right(exluding the drop off exit) is the driveway into the public drop off. This is abour 50 yards down from the stoplight.

What outside ECV company(ies) have anyone used?

There's one at the Ramada Maingate (just down the street & within walking distance from the Fairfield). One of our DISers, rtobe (Ros) uses it each time she comes out & is happy with their service.
