Has anyone used points to stay at Disneyland Paris? If so, which hotel and how did you like it. How far is Disneyland from central Paris? I'll only be there 3 days and I don't know if it's feasible to visist DL, but of course I want to.

drise,

We have, and had a ball. We stayed at the Newport Bay Club, which was very nice. If I'd done it all over again, though, I might have splurged on points and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. It takes less than an hour to get to DLP on the RER train from central Paris. Once you get there, it is very easy to get around as everything is very compact. The really nice thing is that your points get you the room, length-of-stay pass, and a continental breakfast. Next time I have to go to Paris for business, I plan to stay an extra day to go visit again. Loved it!

I've stayed at the Sequoia and the New York. Of the two I prefered the Sequoia marginally. You will find European hotel rooms a little smaller than you're used to and DLP is no exception (DLP hotels are pretty big by most European standards, but still small on US standards). I thought both hotels I've stayed at were excellent, I prefered the styling of the sequoia and I thought the restaurants were more my style.

It's not cheap points wise for the room, but as wintergreen says with the park tickets and a pretty good brekkie thrown in for a larger group it can be good value.
IMHO for two people it's a little pricey, for three people it's a reasonable deal and for four people it's an excellent deal.

We stayed in Paris and visited DP for only one day. It is compact and very doable in one day. You will be surprised at the ratio of adults to children there. We were there in Sept. 2002 and adults will not give an inch to a child when it comes to parade viewing or getting on rides. Very unusual. I think the French like their dogs better than their children. The park is great with some unusual rides and attractions. Have a great day!

Unless you have other reasons to stay out there ... you'll find DP easily reachable by rail from Paris. When we visited (Sept '01) -- you could purchase an all-in-one pass that included the park entry and roundtrip transportation from most rail stations. So very easy!!

of the Carribean. It's different here - slightly darker (in theme) and the ride is a little different Same was true of the Haunted Mansion.

We had a great time - if you decide not to use points we stayed at the Holiday Inn - very near DLP - less than five minute shuttle ride and the service was very good. And I mean it - unlike buses at WDW :)...

Don't remember exact price but it included breakfast buffet and the hotel was brand spanking new when we were there. I think we were the first guests in our room, staff was great etc.

We have stayed in both the New York and Seq. on points. I prefered the Seq. theming and the New York breakfast arrangements. In the Seq. you get a time to have your breakfast, we were stuck with 7am a couple of mornings. However we were told that if we missed our slot that would be fine and to turn up when we wanted. The queues in August for breakfast around 8:30 - 9am were very long, so better to go early.

We stayed 5 nights, but felt we had had enough after 3 nights on our last visit. We probably not be returning to DLP. The atmosphere is different and the attitude of the adults is terrible. More than once I had to resuce our 3 year old from being trampled by the parade watchers. In WDW the adults will always let very small children stand in front of them, in DLP, in most cases, they will be pushed to the back! The smoking was terrible as well, you can smoke anywhere outside in DLP and you have to watch as the cig. is carried at toddler eye level.

The rides are really good though and we enjoyed all the shows in the studios. Didn't get to see Lion King as the queue was 1.5 hours!

In all for a 3 night break in August at the Seq. it would be 120 points. If there are four of you then it is good value, not so sure if there is only two of you.
