The search function is off and I know this has been discussed before..... but......

Are tickets included with the points? How many per room? Continental breakfast, too?

Thanks!

Tickets are included with the room when booked with points, and for as many guests as the stated maximum occupancy of the room type that you book. I believe that continental breakfast is also included, as well as one sit down buffet breakfast at a choice of one of the participating restaurants in the park. Someone please correct me if I'm worng about the breakfast details.

Luis

The breakfasts, or both those that I enjoyed, were "continental" and served buffet style. You could order bacon, sausage, friend eggs etc off the menu and pay cash for the extras. IMHO the breakfast as it is, is more than adiquate. It is help yourself to juice, coffee, tea, cereal, toast, ham/cold meat, croissants, danish and I think fruit and yoghurt. I thought they were very nicely done, good quality European style breakfast.

Thanks!

We have only been to DLP once and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. The breakfast was far more than a traditional American continental breakfast and we were quite impressed with it all.

Spring break can be much cheaper at DLP than WDW. It is not as crowded and often the airfare specials rival the going rate to Orlando. With tix included, it really stretches your DVC points. The only downside is that villas are not available (at least to my knowledge they are not.....)

We are watching the airfares to see if there are good ones for come up for spring Break. I don't think we will have a problem in booking with DVC points 1-4 months prior to departure. I think that the best fares will be into Heathrow on British Airways. If so, we will take the Eurostar again right into DLP. Even if we fly into DeGaulle, we will still have a charge for transportation to DLP and I think that English speaking customs agents & airport instructions will be easier for our children to handle. However, we are still wtaching the Paris rates closely.

Any other DVCers that like DLP as an alternative to WDW?

I was in DLP last summer and was shocked at the disrepair. It was very un-Disney like. In fact during a parade I have film footage of floats with letters missing. For Example the Pinnochio was missing two letters. And at the end of the day, they are French, which is to say not overly gregarious or friendly. The park personnel are somewhat better than the usual French attitude.

On the positive side, it may be the prettiest Castle of any park, The maze garden is awesome, Captain Hook's ship is really neat. Space Mountain is improved over WDW. The park is really pretty.

Paris in general is the prettiest city I've ever been in inhabited by the rudest people I've ever encountered. Second isn't even close.

I have not considered the DVC extras and was not aware those perks existed. It is an intriguing possibility. I think going to Heathrow is a great idea and travelling on the Chunnel is also great. However, I would make a quick retreat back to London after visiting the park. The people there are absolutely wonderful!:D

To each his own, my DH was spit on by a Brit during The Queen's Jubilee concert when he asked the guy to please stop blowing cigarette smoke in my face. At least the French are classier than that. The French were quite wonderful and helpful both times we've been in Paris (though I cannot believe how long it takes to eat a sit down meal there -- three hours at the wonderful Steakhouse in Disney Village, yikes!). While we had a nice time in London and France, I'm not in any hurry to go over sees again (well, except to Tokyo -- wonder why?).

We did fly to Heathrow as my FIL lives just outside London, and took the Chunnel to France. Great experience, but if you're going to do the chunnel, make sure you aren't planning your trip for during British vacations either. As I said, we were there for the Queen's Jubilee and London was mobbed. We ended up having to take a train into Paris, then changing to get to DLP because the direct chunnel was booked. Not a huge hassle, and I got to see Paris again, which I love, but would rather have taken one train ride each way.

The first time we went, we flew directly into De Gaule and were pleasantly surprised that everyone who helped us spoke fluent English. And the train to DLP is in the airport, so it was quick and very easy!

Another note on DLP's breakfasts -- if you don't want to fight the crowds and lines at the buffets, you can fill out breakfast cards the night before and for 10 Euros (not per person, for the order) they will deliver your breakfast to you. Just be warned that a 7:30 a.m. delivery is really more like 7:45 or 8:00 a.m. -- very slow service! But we loved this because we could take our time eating and getting dressed. We don't have kids, but I would think this would be a great benefit with children as well!

Not positive, but I do believe out character breakfast at Walt's in the park was included as well. And well worth it -- we got first seating of the day and Main Street was empty since the park wasn't opened yet. We got fantastic pictures (gotta go back though -- I've lost 100 lbs since then and now I can't even look at them!). And great food as well!

You get rude, arrogant, stroppy and aggressive people from all countries, maybe he took exception to the way your husband spoke to him, maybe something got lost in translation, maybe he was just an ignorant thug, I guess we'll never know.
In general, particularly at the moment, I think American's will get a better welcome in Britain than they get in France.

My hubby and I wnet to DLp for our honeymoon back in 95. We satyed at Newport bay, not impressed. No hot water one day, had to atek an ice cold shower, hot tub was cold another night, no aplogies. At the time they had the "continental breakfast" set up in the lobby. It was very bare and it was liek a hundred peopel fighting over a darn piece of bread! We did not find it to be very welcoming. When we wnet there was no studio park, not even Space Mountatin. It was actually spooky how dead it was. I imagine things have piced up since? I have pictures with not another peron in sight in the parks. When I mentioned to hubby that i saw this thread and park passes were included he raised his eyebrows, but I don't see myself going back to france. Hubby knew a littel French from college, but it was not enough to get us by in Paris. There were times I wnated to cry. We were young and I felt helpless. So many unfriendly peopel! I'm from the south, not used to that attitude, even in atlanta peopel are friendly. I found New York city to be very friendly, too and you always hear the opposite. Now hubby wantes to atek me to london. He went recently for work for a week and loved it. I'm just afraid to fly. And my hubby wnats to go to Tokyo, too. I'm scared cause I think i'd feel really lost there! I did not like the feeling of not having a clue what is going on whiel I was in paris. Next time I go if ever I'll go with a tour group!
