Has anyone used points to stay at Disneyland Paris? At current currency exchange rates, it is cheaper to rent the points and stay than it would be to use cash. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/tips/tricks.

Eric

I don't have any recent experience using DVC ponts for a stay at DLP. But we did use DVC points to stay at Newport Bay hotel at DLP back in the 90's. At that time, park tickets came with the room at no charge, so it was a good value. That changed some years ago, and now you have to buy length-of-stay tickets, which doesn't work very well if you're not planning on going into the parks every day.

Last time I was at DLP, I stayed at Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France timeshare nearby, and that worked out well. Went to the parks several days, and went into Paris a couple of times.

Thanks, John. Renting the points and booking the room that way saves about $100 per night at current rates and I can use the savings to buy the park tickets.

Do you recall if with a 2 night stay you had to buy a two day ticket or a 3 day ticket? We will not be arriving until late in the day and I would hate to have to purchase a day's ticket for a couple of hours in the parks.

Thanks again.

You no longer have to purchase length of stay passes to stay at the resorts in DLP!!!

I just made a reservation for DLP with my DVC points and asked them if I had to purchase length of stay passes and they said that it is no longer a requirement when you stay at DLP.

I just booked the DLP Resort a month ago for Sept. I had to book a minimum 2 night stay but can buy my tickets separate cause it is no longer required.
