Disneyland Paris - News

Some more news or rumours.
For pictures of the Studios overhaul, latest snacks and merchandise I would like to refer you to Facebook: ED92 (FR), DLP Reports (FR/EN) and/or Pixiedust.be (EN/NL)
Currently a lot is Inside Out 2 or Lion King themed.

1. Olympics crowds?
- As mentioned in the other thread, there are several signs that DLP is not going to be that busy.
- AP holders can bring friends & family at a discount,
- A hotel discount for room only for AP holders,
- A Disney + & hotel package discount,
- Plenty of sit down restaurants availability,
- Bronze AP holders' black out dates are cancelled for the first weekend of the Olympics
- Olaf is coming back for M&G. (don't think that will attract that many people, but it's a weird addition so late in the summer season. Makes you think they are panicking?)
- More Pop Up surprises planned for AP holders from

- Not announced, but interesting to mention, last week there were photopass photographers on Main Street to take castle pictures.
As they are normally not there, and only for special occasions, I wonder if they will have a period with more photographers around the park for this summer.

2. Fansites going to D23
Normally Paris is not a big part of the announcements of D23. A lot is about what is happening in the US.
But 2 of the 3 biggest DLP fansites (ED92 and DLP Reports) have both announced they will be going to D23 in August. Makes me wonder, will there be something special announced for Paris?

3. Frozen - A musical invitation - guaranteed access
Frozen - A musical invitation will also get a €15 guaranteed access.
I am torn on this. Yes, it will be great as the waits are long and you have to use your elbows to get a good spot (it's standing room only). No, it's not great, because this show has very limited availability, with introducing guaranteed access, it'll be even harder to get in for those who can't or don't want to pay.

4. Suspension bridge closed
In Adventureland the suspension bridge is closed until further notice.

5. Special show on 14 Juillet
As it is a national holiday, there will be special night time show planned. It will replace both the fireworks and the drone show.
I also expect that there might be classic characters (probably in restaurants) in French themed outfits.

6. The Yacht Club Restaurant under refurbishment
In New Port Bay the Yacht Club Restaurant will be under refurbishment for the entire summer, reopening the 27th of August.

7. Boardwalk Candy Place closed for the rest of the year
The candy store on Main Street will remain closed for the rest of the year and will reopen somewhere in 2025. So this is going to be a big make over (we think)

8. Sportsbar in Disney Village will close late 2024
With the Disney Village refurbishments the Sportsbar will start the refurbishments late 2024. It will be merged with NY Style Sandwiches for more seating and it will be sponsored by Coca Cola.

9. Stroller rental increase
To rent a stroller it'll cost €30 instead of €25 a day.

10. Refurbishment Pays Des Contes Fees extended
Originally Pays des Contes Fees would remain closed till the beginning of August. This is now extended till the end of the month, 30th of August.

Pays de Conte Fees refurbishment update

The sign is updated and for the 30th anniversary of the ride, it will also feature 3 new fairytales:
Frozen (replaces Peter and the Wolff)
Winnie the Pooh (not entirely sure, I think it looks like Hansl and Gretl's candy house)
Up (replaces the Wizard of Oz)

The sign at the entrance of the land is also refurbishment.

Princess week to return to Disneyland Paris 25-31 August:
Programme of Princess Week at Disneyland Paris, Aug 25-31:
- Live Your Story – a Disney Princess Celebration show at Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Meet the Disney Princesses
- Snacks and drinks

The 'meet the Disney Princesses', probably same as last week, most of the outside meet & greet areas will be used to meet a princess and not other characters. Like Merida in Frontierland or Adventureland (where normally Goofy or Rafiki meets).
Yesterday Belle was opposite Plaza Gardens (normally Pooh characters or Pluto), interestingly enough, Belle was meeting in Blue. When in the restaurants or in the pavillion Belle is always in her Yellow ballgown. When she meets outside, it's often in Blue. She only doesn't meet outside often.

For the show, it'll have Aurora, Jasmine, Tiana and Ariel.

For the snacks:

New bar service at Auberge de Cendrillon:

A "cheap" meal in a nice lounge and taking a break from the parks?

Both the concierge lounges in the Marvel Hotel and Sequoia Lodge offer non-concierge guests to visit the lounge during off peak hours in the late afternoon. In the lounge there is a buffet available 😀 25 euro for Sequoia Lodge, and 32 euro for the Marvel Hotel.

This might be a good deal for some.

A friend is in DLP today and she reports that there have been several changes made to the show.
1. You are now seated!
The biggest downside of this show was that you had to push your way to the front to get a good seat.
2. It lasts longer, it's now 25 minutes
3. A song has been added and more dialogue.
4. Elsa has a new dress
5. All the songs are in French...
Not a fan of this ;-)

I was waiting for the announcements for Disneyland Paris from D23 and there here!

Lion King ride AND area
It was an ongoing rumor for a long time. A Lion King water ride coming to Disneyland Paris and it is true! Looking at the concept art, it looks similar to Splash Mountain/ Tiana's Bayou adventure.

But not just that, we will get a Lion King area with dining, shops and characters to meet. Originally the 3 new lands in Disneyland Paris were going to be Avengers, Frozen and Star Wars. However, rumor has it that because Star Wars land wasn't as popular in the US as Disney has hoped, we got something else. Really happy we are getting something more original, even when the ride is a copy of Splash Mountain 😉

World of Frozen will open in 2026

A bit disappointed, to be honest. When you see all the construction pictures... that it will take another year for Frozen to come to Disneyland Paris.

Well, at least we have something...
(It better open on January 1st, 2026 ;) you know during Winter!)

Rapunzel Tangled Spin will open in 2026.

My guess is because of how the area is designed, they won't (be able to) open this ride separately.

First concept art for the lake show in Adventure World

The new show on the lake will have water projection screens, fountains, special effects and drones. Including water drones (I am thinking drones with a mini fountain or can spray water)
I am going to assume this will be nightly shown at Adventure World.

Ps: Can I be annoyed that the concept art shows people filming on their phones?

New evening spectacular in Disneyland Park in 2025

For the first time it will include projections on the Main Street buildings.
Which hopefully spread the crowds just a little bit more.

New entrance for Toy Story Land

Due to the new lake, there will be an entrance with Woody and Jessie !

Restaurant en Coulisse to be renamed as Hollywood Gardens

The new name for the restaurant in the Studios (Adventure World) has been reveiled. We have also some concept art:

If I have to be selfish, I'm happy about this, because it'll be a unique area, never seen before (at least until it's cloned) and I've been in Galaxy Edge (Star Wars land) multiple times and I go to Orlando every other year.
But, I'm sorry for European fans, Rise od the Resistance is an absolutely masterpiece and by far the best attraction in the world. A log flume is a very common attraction in theme parks and even if this is on par to Splash Mountain as quality, it still won't hold a candle to RotR.
Also, people are worried about getting wet on Pirates, I'm not sure a water attraction is a good idea in Paris. I know that you mostly get wet on Splash/Tiana because of jets directed to guests and not for the attraction mechanics, so it can be set to winter mode, but still, it'll be desert in Winter because people will be worried. It is a desert on chillier nights in Orlando, go figure in Paris.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, so not too sad about the loss of the world, but you are so right. RotR is a masterpiece. One can only hope they can create something similar for future rides. It really takes you into a world and makes you part of the story.

Hopefully its early 2026 but it does look very detailed so can see why it will take a while to construct. Its amazing the Studios is getting the attention that has been long needed

Due to the new lake, the entrance to Toy Story Land will have to change. No more Buzz, but Woody and Jessie instead!
Did Disney actually say this, or are you speculating? I would guess Buzz stays at the entrance between Crush and Rat, and the Woody and Jessie entrance is on the other side.

Well spotted! I had another look, it is a new entrance. I was a bit too quick when writing all the updates.
Thank you for keeping me sharp! :)
