Disneyland Paris Maintenance Update

We're just back from a trip last week and I must say I didn't really notice any of the issues that have been pointed out. I suppose it depends if you're looking for it or not. I didn't think the park was any more dirty than WDW when I was there last.

Captain Hooks ship didn't have that big hole in it (unless I didn't see it) but it does need a lick of paint - unless they're going for the pirate unkept look!

The smoking is a problem though. It really surprised me to see how many people were smoking right next to their babies and small children (not to mention my small child!) - I thought that this sort of attitude didnt' really exist anymore now that we know how dangerous smoking is - obviously not though!

The geysers were damaged by the severe freezing temperatures earlier this year and apparently will cost 100 000 euros to repair, added to which there is speculation that to do so will require draining of the lake, so I wouldn't expect to see those working again for sometime.

Well that explains why there weren't working this year....what's the excuse for the previous couple of years!.

Isn't this a picture of the 'brand' new Parachutes ride in the Studios.....it's bearly a month old, and the floor already looks like this!.

As an American, I noticed a big difference in the upkeep of DLP and other Disney parks when I visited DLP last February. I am from California and, for me, part of the magic of Disneyland is how it looks fresh and new every morning - making you feel you are the first person to enjoy the park, even though millions have come before. I was a bit shocked to see garbage in ponds and paint chipping and general decay in DLP last visit. It just seemed so unDisney. Yes, kids and weather and crowds take a toll on the park, but what sets Disney apart is how well parks are maintained day after day, despite the wear and tear they suffer.

I am going back to DLP in a couple weeks and am eager to see how the park looks. After living a year in Switzerland, I am sure I will have high expectations. ;)

So, be sure to let us know after your visit what your impressions were , it is interesting! :upsidedow

These photos make me feel SO much better!
Neat and clean as it is supposed to be!

I agree, fair enough its ugly seeing the work screens but at least you know that their making the 'world' a better place and the outcome hopefully will be good
