Disneyland Paris from Montmartre

Hello!

I'll be traveling to England and France for the first time in 15 years and am wondering if anyone has had experience getting to DLP from Montmartre. We'll be there in mid-July, so I'm curious what the weather is like and how late the trains go from DLP back to Montmartre. I will be spending a day in the middle of the trip and my final day at DLP, so I would have to check out of my hotel and store my luggage at the train station before heading to DLP and back to the Eurostar.

Has anyone had quick trips like this? I think I can pack a backpack for a 4 day Paris trip, but if I decide to go with roll-on luggage, will it be safe to have it on the train from England to France stored out of sight?

I'm hoping the trains back to Montmartre run late as I'd love to see some of the fireworks and nighttime entertainment DLP has to offer.

Also, I have been to WDW and DL - are the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and Tower rides at DLP/Studios the same as their counterparts in the US? I would just like to spend more time seeing attractions I can't see in the US.

Montmatre is in central Paris so you would need to get the metro for part of the journey to one of the stations where you can connect onto the RER B line which takes you right to DLP.
Do you know which is the nearest metro to where you are staying? Then we can plan a route for you to get to DLP.
The RER part of the journey takes about 50 mins and the trains do run late but some areas round Montmatre and a bit dodgy so its whether you would want to be out so late there. Are you travelling alone?

Thank you for the advice! I'm so overwhelmed as I haven't traveled to Europe in 15 years, and the last time I went was completely chaperoned.

I will be traveling with my bf and his family (all adults 20s-60s), and we will be staying at http://www.arts-hotel-paris.com/ Hotel Des Arts. Unfortunately I'm quite unfamiliar with the transit system there, but my bf is confident his family from the UK knows where everything is as they've been there before. I am concerned about the dodgy areas you mentioned... I'll have to check a map on distance from the train to the hotel. The first day we will go to the parks together, and the final day it will just be my bf and me. Our plan for the second day will be to check out of the hotel, store our luggage (I'm hoping to fit it all in a small backpack) at the main train station and take the RER to DLRP and then back to the station to catch the Eurostar at 9pm. Is there a better option for luggage storage? The other two days will be spent sightseeing in Paris.

You can use this link to plan your RER/Metro trip from your hotel to DLP.

The area you are in is known for the string bracelet scam and many others. It is a bit sketchy at night but walk in group, walk with purpose and stay to the main roads. Don't stop to "help" or talk. Even during the day there is a problem with the con artists.

The Metro and RER are integrated and many station have metro/RER or normal trains as well. The tickets are interchangeable between Metro, RER and buses and I think some regular trains as well within the same zones.

Luggage on trains is generally in the same carriage at the same ends or in between the seats, or above them you can store it nearby. I assume the Eurostar is similar. I expect you'll get into Gare Du Nord with the Eurostar, the Disney park is Marne-la-Vallee-Chessy.

I's allow a bit of extra time travelling in case of hold-ups, the trains have always been on time with me but just in case....

The string bracelet scam is when a young guy approaches you and compliments you, showing you his string bracelets and before you know where you are, he's tying one around your wrist. They are generally quite charming but want upwards of €10 at the end of it. If you try to walk away, they could turn nasty. Best just to walk past anyone that approaches you, be rude, better that than be scammed! They probably won't bother you in a group. We've never had any issues in our time in Paris and we've been quite a few times.

There's some lovely things to see in Montmatre so don't be put off. We wandered round parts of it last summer with 2 kids and had no hassle.

Looking at the info about your hotel your nearest metro stations are Abbesses and Blanche.

To get to DLP the best one to go to would be Blanche - then get line 2 to Charles de Gualle Etoille (follow the line in Direction Porte Dauphine) and go 7 stops.
Change at Charles de Gualle Etoile onto the RER line A. This will take you to DLP

The RER lines go further out of central Paris and are indicated with letters and the metro is central Paris and indicated with numbers. Each line gives the end stop as its direction which is why I said above to follow the line in direction of Porte Dauphine.

It sounds complicated but its not honest.

Just be aware that the area around Blance/Pigalle/Moulin Rouge used to have the reputation of being where the "Ladies of the Night" worked to put it poiltely but you should be fine if you are not alone and dont have young children with you.

As already said Im assuming the Eurostar you are getting goes from Gare du Nord (there is one from DLP but Im assuming you arent booked on this one) so you can leave your luggage at Gare du Nord on your last day which will mean more changes on the metro or your other option if you dont have much is to take it with you to DLP and leave it at the station at Marne la Valee- there are lockers there and then you dont have to go via G du N on your way to the park on the last day

I agree its a very interesting area of Paris and you can spend ages watching all the artists in Place du Tertre. There are also quite of lot of really nice cheap restaurants in the area as well- even in the touristy part in Place du Tertre they tend to be cheap and cheerful
