Hello everyone!

I'd appreciate your help in the following matter:

I'm a student and two years ago moved to London. Now I'd like to take my 11-year-old sister for a girly holidays to Disneyland so we can catch up. I wanted to make our stay really special and considered stay in Newbay Hotel. At the beginning a friend of mine was supposed to come as well so it'd cost me about 600 pounds for two of us. However, now it's only my sister and me who's going. I researched Disney's website for any deals for 2 people but they seem to have family rooms only. I cannot afford to pay 890 pound for two of us :confused3
Does anyone know how I can book Disney's hotel for two people only, for 1st - 5th July (possibly from 30th June)?
Thank you a lot in advance!!

xx

You could always stay at the Cheyenne or the Sequioa Lodge they are cheaper but still lovely hotels.

hmmm probably we could.

but it's a bit disappointing, isn't it? how about single parents? why do they have to pay more?

Its called under-occupancy :confused3 .

I've always gone to DLRP in a party of 2 - me and my daughter. To be perfectly honest, at age 11, your sister will probably be thrilled she's at Disney at all, and really won't bother about which hotel she stays at.

You could even consider the Kyriad at Disneyland, the Holiday Inn, Dream Castle or Explorers, as these are offsite, but still serviced by free regular shuttle buses straight into the Magic. Then just buy your park tickets seperately, from 365tickets or attractiontix etc. It could save you loads of money compared with buying a package from Disney direct.

Hi gdulka and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.
As others have said the other hotel choices of Cheyenne and Santa Fe might offer a cheaper solution.
Off-site are still served by shuttle bus so you are not far from the magic :)

I agree with the others. DH and I do not have children so there are only 2 people per room (same as you.) So we have the same occupancy fee. The other hotels are lovely and will meet your needs.

as a student i know how much of a struggle it is to do these trips on a bit of a budget! the last three years i've been i've stayed in the holiday inn which usually works out a bit cheaper than the disney hotels. also if you book it on the holiday inn website you can book a room without breakfast and then take things like cereal bars out with you to have for breakfast which will save you quite a bit of money, but if you book on the holiday inn website you have to book the park tickets separately. hope this helps.

:goodvibes glad you found your way here gd ;)

I agree that no matter where you stay, your sis will love the whole DLRP experience :lovestruc

TBH the accom to us is just a place to sleep and shower! So can be cheap as chips

Yes it would be lovely to stay onsite every time but we would rather have more spends for souvenirs and character meals etc :)

Thank you Cyrano :) you all are definitely friendly and incredibly helpful :grouphug: heheh

I'm trying to convince other friends to join us so that the price could be split between more people. I will let you know about my progress ;)

However, I think Disneyland should cater for singles/couples/single parents/families of three etc. If by any chance I become an accommodation manager there, I will build a new hotel with rooms for 1/2/3 :D and you guys will have a special luxurious floor for yourselves, members of the DIS FORUM :rotfl:

Thanks for all answers!

:thumbsup2 could do with this in a variety of other places as well :)

I agree.... Speaking as a couple who consist of a student and a poor civil servant, t'would be nice to have somewhere for smaller groups of people!

They could set up a Disney camp site...now that would be exciting :)

we had many a fun family holiday when DCR had spaces for caravans/tents as well as the mobile homes. my dad was gutted when they stopped this as it meant we couldn't incorporate a DLP visit into our epic caravan tours of europe every couple of years (we even went on my dad and step mums honeymoon trip lol)

theres other sites nearby, but none as convenient as DCR :(

Ha! I've just booked!!!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: I'm sooooooo excited, hurrey! :hyper:

After all, we're staying in Newport Bay (cost a lot but....), from 1st till 5th July! I booked Eurostar on my own and saved loads of money as my friend works for them :cool2:

So... I need to start my preparations! I'm so lucky I found this forum, it's a real repository of information and advice. I told my sister today about the trip, she's absolutely thrilled!!! Ohhhh, I love making surprises!
So now I need to plan what we're going to do. I've been to Disneyland last year but it was just for a one day and it was raining all the time so it doesn't count. I really want her to feel special, so I'm definitely going to do Good Morning... Breakfast, Tea with the characters and lunch with princesses. Don't know any details but hopefully I'm going to find everything here. Do you have any recommendations for us? She's 11 btw :)

And now, I'll be a bit childlish but I'm sooooo happy we're going! :yay: :yay: :yay:

awwww im so happy for you!

I would recommend Cafe Mickey, its fab in there and im sure your sister will love it.

Hey gdulka!

I am going in a 2 with my boyfrined 6-9 July. I originally wanted to book Newport Bay, but having read recent reviews that state there are too many guest and too few restaurants services I decided to switch to Sequoia which consistenly gets rave reviews and where I have stayed before and had an amazing time.

Also, for cheaper than a standard NB room you can get a lakeview room in the main building, guaranteeing a view across the lake and to the castle, space mountain and other rides.

You can't guarantee a view like this in NP of New York, and I didn't want to spend almost £2000 on the disenyland hotel.

If you're worried about the hotel only being 3* please don't!

I will normally only book 5* places, but the Sequioa is really great!

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
We'll definitely go! I saw some pictures on the forum of those yummy cakes, pastries and sweets! Do you think everything can be booked once we're there or shall I book in advance as soon as possible?
