this was handled all wrong. If they were not supposed to be there, dont jump between them. In this case, let the guy finish the proposal, and then proceed to escort them out of the park.
This is exactly what the entitled rule breaker was counting on. He'll go to an illegal area and get the proposal in and then after that he cared less what could happen.this was handled all wrong. Oh im normally not the person that would be on the side of the rule breaker. I hate entitled behavior. This is exactly what the entitled rule breaker was counting on. He'll go to an illegal area and get the proposal in and then after that he cared less what could happen.
It's like a streaker at a soccer or basketball game. They streak and get on camera, so they get it on video and on their youtube channel for more views. After that they don't care if they get ejected from the game/stadium because they accomplished what they set out to do.
Precisely, even DLP agrees or they wouldn't have offered to "make it right".Oh im normally not the person that would be on the side of the rule breaker. I hate entitled behavior.
My thoughts are on this one, they werent hurting anyone, he was already mid proposal, and now that moment is flat out ruined, and i get it was their fault (really his). But it without a doubt could have been handled by Disney differently, but they should have without a doubt been punished for it.
I say, if she said yes, then they should trespass them both, if she said no, trespass the guy lol.
If the rule breaker was really that smart and compassionate then he would have said to himself, probably not a good idea to propose in an illegal, restricted area when there are plenty of other places to propose at Disneyland. Like there are a million places in Disneyland where it would be okay to propose but Imma gonna go to one of the places that are a restricted stage area cause look at me.Oh im normally not the person that would be on the side of the rule breaker. That's actually more optics and PR then them thinking what the rulebreaker did was right.Precisely, even DLP agrees or they wouldn't have offered to "make it right".
I'm sure this rule breaking guy will have other marriage proposals so he will have more opportunities to get it right next time.
LMAO. She said yes, despite whatever you think the guy did wrong, not everyone is a boy scout. You don't seem to understand that yes, if he didn't have permission he was not on a public area and should have probably been escorted out or at least given a reprimand. BUT that isn't the point. He risked it because it was a romantic gesture that paid off for him and despite the Randall CM she will probably remember it fondly forever. I know I would. That's actually more optics and PR then them thinking what the rulebreaker did was right.
I have an slightly other memory, but as it is was 7 or 8 days ago I could be wrong:Saw the original thread on Reddit where I think this initially gained traction. From what I understand the guy proposing asked for and initially DID NOT get permission to do this, but kept pushing “because I want to” (i.e. he had this plan made up and no alternatives) and eventually the CM he was talking to relented. That was the big mistake. Obviously the second CM in the story didn’t handle this in the best way but none of this happens if the first CM doesn’t give in.
Yeah the thread I saw may have been the second (this is the one that was linked in articles about it). The red flag was that it said "he asked for permission!" at the beginning with the obvious follow-up question being "well... did he get it or not?" That detail wasn't addressed until somewhere in the comments, where I found the wishy-washy answer of "sorta yes, after some prodding".I have an slightly other memory, but as it is was 7 or 8 days ago I could be wrong:
The friend of the groom-to-be originaly posted the video and stated that his friend had NO permission at all (and also didn't got it after pushing), but because of the heavy backlash from the community (kind of "what did he expect, if you were told no" etc.) he deleted the post and posted a new one where he stated that they got permission. And now (also backuped because of the Disney statement) he denied the orignal first post and said to everybody who remembered the first one they got permission after several begging.
I'm upset with me, that I didn't take a screenshot. Would have been funny with the media, after the 2nd post with the changed facts (permission) has gone viral...Yeah the thread I saw may have been the second (this is the one that was linked in articles about it). Wow, just Wow!Absolutely not. I hope the boyfriend and girlfriend are banned from the parks for life, and I hope the CM gets a raise.

I don't like people doing illegal things, sorry.Wow, just Wow!
Can confirm (hi, I’m also here! What a small world!). Those fences are not new either- they’ve definitely been there while. Also, the shirt the CM was wearing in the video is the same shirt I’m seeing on the parade/show CMs.In Disneyland Paris now, I took a picture of the stage where it happened. This is 30 minutes before showtime.
The show is adapted today as it is about 95F degrees here. It is the parade part only, no show at the hub. So I can't check when they open the gates. But what normally happens on the left and right of the green lines is where guests can stand. This show is very good and therefore popular, as of an hour at least before showtime fans start to gather.
The path in the middle is where the characters and dancers go by, so before showtime this area is cleared like with a parade. No crossing unless a CM tells you, you can.
When the gates are opened and you try to get on stage, you are surrounded already by a thousand people. When you get on that stage, the entire hub can see you.
If a CM agreed to let someone do this, he/she has to take people out of a crowd. This cannot be done without other CMs seeing it.
