Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel Review

Even with 5 of us in the room for 2 weeks we never felt crowded, I think the extra space for the sofa bed and the light bright decor helped.

Do all the rooms at Paradise Pier have the sofa bed?

Hi All,

We recently stayed at this hotel for the first time Sept 24th - 26th and I have to say I couldn't have been more pleased. The room was really clean, the bed and pillows were as comfortable as that on Disney's Dream cruise. The walk wasn't bad at all and we loved the perk of getting in the parks an hour early which I must say, payed off. Especially the day we did CA when we hit Cars Land first (glad we did). We were in room 442 which looked out over the park to our surprise and we were happy about that. I hope to write more later on our day at DL and CA but in regards to Paradise Pier.....completely satisfied!

Did you request, and pay for, a room with a view or did you get upgraded at check-in?

Thanks for your review. DL newbie who is trying to choose hotel for fam of 5. Want to stay at a Disney hotel. Considering all options. First choice was GC but concerned about family member getting a sleeping bag instead of daybed. So happy to consider DLH and PPH. Pool is very important. Looking at photos of PPH pool, it looks small. What is your opinion of pool and waterslide for kids who really love pool/waterside? Thanks!

DLH pool and waterslides are amazing. The hotel was refurbed in 2011 and the rooms and pool area are great. If you an afford it, I would highly recommend the DLH.

The pool is the only "downside" to PP, in my opinion. It is only so-so. It is on the roof of part of the building (not the very top of course), so theming is limited. I would LOVE to see them refurb it somehow, or relocate it.

That said, I love PP. I am staying there again in August. I also stay in the DVC rooms when I can, and I stayed a week at DL Hotel last year (loved it as well).

I am planning on a first stay at the PPH in September. We will have just a standard room. We are a family of 5 so I will need to be organized and use the limited space efficiently. I hope someone who stayed recently can tell me a bit about the room set-up. Questions I have include:
1. Does the small refrigerator have a freezer compartment?
2. What is the approximate closet size? Is there only a bar for hanging clothes or are there shelves built in?
3. Is there a luggage rack available?
I appreciate any information or tips passed along.

I stayed at PPH last Sept and really enjoyed it as well! The room was really big and decorated very beachy! We booked standard view and were upgraded to theme park view! The walk to the parks was great. I would stay there again in a second!

1. I seem to remember there being a small freezer. Doesn't hold much though.
2. There was a shelf above the hanging bar you could put clothes on. There also was a dresser I believe under the tv with drawers you could use.
3. yes

We were there in Oct. Standard room has a regular size closet with a long bar and shelf on top. Dresser with a few drawers. I felt the closet was huge. The fridge is tiny. The freezer spot is a tiny shelf. We took an ice chest which I was glad I did. Then used the ice machine to re fill if needed.
