Have you ever wondered how they maintain the Monorail train? Or, how do they dispatch electricians to broken rides? Are there secret tunnels for getting around the park? How do they keep the submarine tour water so clean? What is the capacity of the East Chilled Water Plant? How much electricity and water does the park use?

I have so many questions (You can probably already guess that I secretly desire to be an Disney Imagineer.)

I have always dreamed of getting a tour of the interworkings of the park. I would like to spend a few hours with the people who ensure the magic is seamlessly flowing all day long.

Has anyone ever heard of such an opportunity? (Please don't suggest getting a job at the park, my DW doesn't want to move to Anaheim).

You sound just like my DH. You don't happen to be an engineer, by any chance? :rotfl:

Me too! I would LOVE to know those things! I could stay on a tour like that all day!!! :)

I can answer that one for you.

We don't have tunnels that span the park. There's one that connects Tomorrowland Terrace backstage to allow for moving food back and forth without going On Stage, as well as allowing access for bands to the TLT Stage. There are also Underground Complexes in Fantasyland and New Orleans Square. However, the parkwide network of tunnels is strictly at MK/WDW.

I don't believe WiWF Tour will give you the kind of info you are looking for. The closest thing I have heard of that would satisfy your questions would be the Adventures By Disney Backstage Magic tour. A few Disboarders have gone on it, and I know one is planning on doing it in January and has a pre-trippie on the DL Trip Reports board.

How'd you guess? This is the dw but yep, he's a civil engineer. One of those people who wants to ride the monorail so that he can see the chiller plants. (And yes, we have a photo of a manhole cover. LOL)
