Does anyone know how far in advance they post the operating hours for Disneyland? I keep checking (Everyday!) for the September hours and they are still not posted on the Disneyland website.

Is there anywhere else that I would be able to check?

I am going to Disneyland for the 1st time in September and am anxiously awaiting to plan my itinerary for the parks! I am a little worried that they will not be performing Fantasmic and some of the other great parades and shows when I'm there!!

56 days and counting!!!
:earsboy:

Generally, after Labor Day, weekday hours are shortened to 9 or 10 to 8 for DL and 10-6 for DCA. On Fridays hours should be 9-11 or midnight for DL and 10-9 for DCA and Saturdays hours should be 8 or 9 to midnight and 10-9 or 10 for DCA. Sundays are usually 8 or 9 to 11 and DCA should be 10-8 or 9. So far as I know, Fantasmic will be running (it is now classified as a year-long attraction) as will the fireworks on Fri, Sat and Sun. The Parade of Dreams should be running everyday. In DCA the Electrical Parade should be Fri and Sat nights for sure and Sundays if they are open until 9 and Block Party Bash should run daily. Aladdin should run about 5 days a week. Snow White in DL should be everyday.

I checked last night and the hours were available--go to disneyland.com, click on calendar, and look at September. Do note that the schedules are not available for September yet, except to say that the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay will be going on. So, basically, if you need to know what time the parks open, you're set, but if you need to know when the parades are, you're out of luck.

I think that the schedules come out more than 30 days in advance, but if I remember correctly, not much more than that.

A few years ago DH & I went to DL in Sept. If I remember right they closed at 9 or 10 p.m. and NO FIREWORKS at all. We were so disappointed. Also, several of the major rides were closed for their annual cleaning. I don't want to be a big downer, just warning you in advance! btw - they did have a great parade right when they opened.
But, looks like this year there are more events due to the 50th anniv.

We still had a lot of fun. There were no crowds at all. Mostly families with small (not school aged) children and a few college kids on their way to school.

Have FUN!

Okay, so I seem to have a big mouth but I'm not really being any help.

My family only travels in September, it seems--September 1980, 2002, 2004, and we'll be traveling in September this year.

Previously, September was a month when a lot of things were down for refurbishment. For instance, I've never been able to ride the Matterhorn. :sad2: Poor me. Also, the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay always occurs in September, so if you want to ride, you have to come a little earlier or a little later--I usually come the last week in September so that I'm there for the opening on the first Friday in October. (Of course, the first weekend in October is a big convention, so it gets crowded.) Most of the parades are only on the weekends at this time of year, as well as Fantasmic and the fireworks, so including a Friday, Sunday or a Saturday in your stay is the only way to see them.

However, this year is the 50th, and the rumor is that they're going to try and have as many rides as possible available, and so far all they've got listed as down for refurbishment in September is the Haunted Mansion. I don't know if they'll have the parades and fireworks going on during the week, but I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be going on during the weekend. If you want, you can check previous years' refurbishment schedules at mouseplanet.com. Click on Park Update, and then on the right-hand side of the page you can look at archives from previous years.

Thank you everyone for your help!
I'm starting to get worried about the fireworks/Fantasmic showings!
Hopefully with the 50th going on they will still have them in September!
I'll keep checking each day for the showtimes! :earsboy:

We are going this Sept. the weekend after Labor Day. We were there that same weekend last September and they had fireworks Fri-Sun nights. If I remember correctly, they did not have Fantasmic because they had the sailing ship Columbia down for refurb. In 2003 we went in October and they did not have fireworks. I am wondering if it was due to fires that year, that was when they were raging all over So. Cal and in fact Sea World closed one day around our visit that year. I didn't know any better because it was our first visit to Disneyland and I didn't even know to check out beforehand what was going on. I am hopeful that due to the 50th they will have fireworks on the weekends this year at the very least. Every visit we have been regardless of season they have had the parade at Disneyland (back when it was Parade of the Stars) every day (sometimes twice on weekends) and the Electrical Parade on weekends if not daily. Like Blackunicorn the only thing I have noticed being down for refurb during our September visit is the Haunted Mansion.

Amy & Dan -
We are going the weekend after Labor Day, too! We figured that it would be uncrowded and still warm (probably HOT), anyway, really looking forward to seeing everything, especially WISHES (again). Staying at the Grand with a DTD view, we splurged and paid for the room and view. I hope it is worth it, last time we stayed there our room was in the courtyard and I felt it really took a lot away from the experience. DD & I went June 20-21 (a Monday and Tuesday) and it was PACKED - ugghh :confused3. We did see the new attractions, but the fireworks we could only see from an extreme side view due to huge crowds. Am thinking we will do the tour to get seats in the train station for the fireworks, anyone care to comment on how good those seats are? I know they are far away at the end of Main Street, can you really see that well? It seemed the folks with good views were camped out for hours, yikes :earseek: Any advice is greatly appreciated. Excited for our trip :flower:

Last year the weekend after Labor Day was the Prime Time Preview Weekend in DCA and boy, was it ever crowded in both parks (lots of celebrities running around), though DCA was worse. Also it was miserably hot that weekend.

You are not kidding about the heat! I have a picture taken of our whole family at the Plaza Inn birthday party and we look beet red and worn out! Is this the Prime Time Weekend again this year?

I've heard good things about the view from the train station. You can see very well, and I think they pipe the music everywhere. Anyway, we're considering doing the tour for the good seats, as well, and we don't leave until the 16th, so be sure to post an e-mail for us if you decide to do the tour. ;)

A lot of people do camp out for hours to get good seats. I hate to do that, and I don't have a long enough attention span, so I look for cheats. :earboy2:

I don't know about the 50th, but for the 45th which wasn't as big as this one, we went off season and were pleased to have fireworks every night (as the park closed). Fantasmic was 30 min. earlier if my memory serves me correctly. I know we had many choices. As for refurbishments, I am hoping that they are staggaring them more. We are going in Sept. also and hoping to see most of everything in our 2 weeks.

I will be there the weekend after Labor Day as well!
I'll be arriving in CA Labor Day weekend, but holding off going to the Land until Thursday/Friday of that week. I'm hoping it won't be too crowded!
Looks like I may be trying to do parade/Fantasmic/fireworks all on Friday!!
