Thanks for sharing this! SO many regular Disneyland visitors are locals (and by 'locals,' I mean people who live within a 2 hr drive) and guess what? ALL of them drive to get there. 10% tax on parking? That turns your $40/day parking fee into $44. When you add that to higher prices on food & beverages in the parks, it'll result in fewer locals attending regularly. Or for the people who currently have annual passes (yes, yes, I know they're called Magic Keys, but it's still an AP), they'll start to bring more of their own food. They'll switch from buying soda, juice, & other drinks to drinking free ice water or packing their own beverages and storing it in a locker. And merchandise sales in the parks will dip a little.
And then when THAT becomes unsustainable for locals, they'll just go less often.
We are hoping to go to Disneyland next August for a short family trip before YDD heads off to college. At that point, it will have been 2 yr since our last DL visit. And oh boy have ticket prices gone up. 3-day park hopper tickets for 4 adults = $2140. Add purchasing LLMP to that and it gets us to $2548. SHEESH!
And that's before we've spent any money on food or drinks.
