I was SUCH a Klutz this past trip to Disneyland, and lost not 1 item, but 4 items before the week was out.

Day 2 Fast passes to RCR ride, dropped outta my pocket. Alas no loss on these ones, as we went single rider, and were on the ride in less than 10 minutes.

Day 5 riding Splash Mountain, and my prized Disney hat flies off as we are heading down the flume past the photo spot. 2 seconds after the flash, off flies my hat into the ride.

Day 7 riding the little mermaid ride (yes I am too old for this ride) and my expensive sunglasses fall off onto the ground, (I forgot they were on my head). I can see them laying on the ground as the seashell rolls around, nothing the ride can do at that time, as they do not stop the ride for sunglasses. maybe if they were prescription, but not for sunglasses or hats. They suggest to go to Town hall.

Day 8, at the airport forgot the cover for my DW's passport, had to go back out of LAX security, and down to check in only to find that it had been brought upstairs by the counter agent (kudo's for them, but lousy for me as I am back in the security line).

I went to the Lost and Found on Day 7, and in less than 2 minutes they had found the hat, and it was safe and sound back on my head (still very wet mind you)!

My glasses were a different story, they were not found before we had to head to the Airport, but I called them the day we got back home. The lady on the phone, took the particulars, put me on hold and found them in less than a minute. She asked for my address, and they were mailed to me the same day. I had them back in my hands in Canada in less than a week.

I will have to say that the Disneyland Lost and found was outstanding!

I had a great experience with them as well, when I lost my wallet. Well, L&F combined with the amazing soul that turned it in, intact!!

Yes I agree. The Lost and Found at Dland is awesome. I've used it regularly over the years as my son and husband are both very absent-minded about things like hat/visor, sunglasses, backpack (yes it is the acorn falling close to the tree). So we are at the Lost and Found a good deal and those people are amazing. More often then not they have the thing you've lost. If not, they will search for it for weeks. Once they mailed my son's visor back to us in No Cal (free of charge) more than a month after we had visited Dland b/c it had turned up.

Just chiming in to say over the days we were there I lost my sunglasses and my son lost his lightsaber.
Both we turned up the next day and it took them 2 minutes to find them.
I was very impressed.

In 2011 I left our camera sitting outside the Disney JR theater. It took one full day but we got a call just before the parade the next afternoon that someone had turned it in and they had it (thank you whoever found it and turned if in).
Last year I left my camera case which had my driver license in it. Didn't realize it until we left so I called and sure enough they had it and mailed both to my house. We've had nothing but positive experience with L&F minus the fact that I keep losing things!

That is so great. I found a very expensive camera sitting on top of a vending machine. Turned it into a Cast Member, made me feel good.

I imagine that person was very grateful! Ours was an inexpensive point and shoot but it was the 4th day of the trip and it was our daughters first trip (she was 2) and I was devastated about all the pictures! I cried when we got it back even more than I cried when I lost it.

I'm sure DLR's L&F is great but depends on stuff being found/handed in.

I left my DH's new DL jumper (bought the same day) on a bench in Toon Town.

Called L&F every day for 2 weeks after (until we were back in Aus) and alas no jumper.

I felt so bad I had to buy him another online. Don't want to talk about how much shipping cost....

The 10 yr old in my group lost her Elsa tiara, they went to lost and found the next day and they pulled out several Elsa tiars but none was the right one. So Lost and found said to just take any one of them they wanted, plus gave the two girls an unclaimed wand each (one Elsa, one Anna.) Made the girls day!

I had wonderful experiences with them as well :) We actually had a backpack STOLEN from our stroller last trip. Nothing important in it, luckily, but it did have things we wanted to keep (like baby items that were special, some merchandise).

First the security spoke with us, and was very sincere in wanting to help us. When they found out one of the things in the stolen pack was my 2 y/o's jacket, they gave him a new Mickey one :)

They told us that when people steal at DL, they usually ditch the bag later on in bushes, etc. and it should turn up in a day or so.

Well it did! Found it at the Lost and Found a day later. Thanks DL Security, as well as Lost and Found!

Similarly, had a good experience at GCH. We left our laptop in the room and they overnighted it back to us at our home for no charge. SUPER awesome :)

Glad your experience was good too!

We left our camera bag on the stroller whe. We went into the tiki room. Some kind soul took it off the stroller and gave it to a cast member so nobody would steal it. My phone number was on it so when I got out of the tiki room there was a message to go to the lost and found and pick it up. Moral of this story is to put your cell phone number on everything so people can return it to you. And a huge thanks to the person who took the bag off our stroller!

Wow, it seems like my family must have just had totally rotten luck when it comes to the Lost and Found. On our trip last spring, my sister left a newly purchased pirate medallion pin in the pouch on Thunder Mtn, still in the bag with the receipt! And they never found it which means someone stole it even when it was clearly recently purchased. I also lost my hat (a special hat) on Indy, again, left it in the pouch, returned to the ride twenty minutes later and stood there on the exit waiting for them to search every single jeep and they didn't find it that time either.
They said they'd call us if they found either one of those items and they never did.
It's just sad that people would take stuff like that at Disneyland. I'm still kind of bitter about both incidents.
Although, another time my sister lost her bag inside the Indiana Jones ride, it actually fell out of the car, and she got it back. Which makes sense because it wasn't like it was going anywhere....

I've always had positive experiences with Lost and Found. One time, L&F called me to tell me they found my son's cell phone, before he found me to tell me.

We left our service pup's ball in the hotel room, and before we made it home, they were on the phone with us to tell us we forgot it.
