Is there a preferred meet place? I know Reddit is having a meetup at the flagpole, but I was thinking maybe more of a centralized location, like the Partners statue or the Tiki Room (hey, maybe a good place to catch a rest!).

I wonder if Fastpass will be running all night? This will be my last trip before the change to Fastpass, so I want to make sure to use it to the fullest!

What change is being made to the fastpass?

So on the Disneyland AP facebook page one guy was saying that you will need to camp out 2 days before because the leap day 24hrs was a HUGE event.

Do you really think that people will do that for this event/day? I think that's a bit extreme.

I can see if its popular that they close the gates.

What are your thoughts???

I'm game for anything except the 6am. I'm not sure I can make it 24 hours and get myself back to the airport. I've done 20 hours at Disney World before so I know I can make it, but I'll be at Disneyland starting in the afternoon. Going to start my day a DCA opening and then head over. (although I'm going to stop and rent a locker at DL before then)

We are arriving the 27th and staying at GCH... We plan on spending as much time during the 24hrs at the park... It would be fun to do a meet with others!

I'm down for a 2am meet up. I'm not sure the hubs will make it to 6am (but I'm sure going to push him).

I just posted on this our question thread but I'll repost here too... It's my birthday on the 28th! So look for me wearing a hot pink t-shirt that says "I survived the Nisqually earthquake Feb. 28th, 2001" (only locals will get the joke but I wear it every year). However, I'd probably be freezing my butt off at 2am in a t-shirt so I'll have to figure something out.

Yay Disneyland Leap Year Birthday Party!!!!

I'd love to do a meet! I know I'm new here, so I'm a stranger to you, but I'd still love to meet you guys, so that I won't be such a stranger in the future.

Maybe we should do a two-part meet (2pm & 2am, for example). :cool1:
That's just was I was thinking!

Glad to hear there is more info out there! I was hoping they would be doing some extra fun stuff but so far hadn't seen any info! Off to look.
I kept looking at the official schedule on dinseyland.go.com and wondering. It seemed weird that they wouldn't have any entertainment for the extra hours they were open.

If you call Disney Dining they can give you the closing time of all the food locations that day. Someone posted a list on another board and I asked to confirm when I called for my Blue Bayou ressie. Here is the list I found:

Plaza Inn to 2am
Little Red Corn Dog cart to 3am
The Bengal BBQ to 3am
The French Market to be open until 3:30am
River Belle Terrace to 5am
Golden Horseshoe to 5am
Village Haus to 5:30am
Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe to 6am
Tomorrowland Terrance to 6am

Hope this helps.
Thanks for posting that! Very helpful in my plans. DBF is diabetic, so it's really good to know in advance where we can get food in an emergency (yes I carry some on me, but accidents happen, bags get lost or torn/left open so stuff falls out). I don't want to be wandering around from closed restaurant to closed restaurant wondering how long till I have a comatose boyfriend on my hands.

I understand camping out the night before, but two days? Sounds a bit much. I'm gonna need my energy, so I'm gonna need a good night's rest on a real bed, thankyouverymuch.

Yay Disneyland Leap Year Birthday Party!!!!
Wow! Sounds like an awesome way to celebrate your day. Happy Birthday! :cake:

Oh and for a second, when you mentioned Nisqually earthquake and that locals know it, I thought you meant Disneyland/OC locals. I'm an Angeleno, but I was racking my brain trying to figure it out, especially since it sounded familiar. Then I remembered that it sounded familiar because I used to have an internet pen-pal in the Seattle area. Then I got the idea to look at your location. For a future math teacher, I'm a little slow at putting 2 and 2 together sometimes.

FP at WDW is going to be changing in that no longer will they accept latecomers. At both resorts, you used to be able to get a FP that had a return time of say 1:00-2:00pm and come back anytime after 2 and they'd still accept it, no questions asked. As of early March, WDW will not be as lenient.

HOWEVER, there has been no confirmation or even credible rumors of this policy also being enacted at DLR. For now, DLR's FP is not changing.

Thanks I use my fast passes at later times all the time that why I was like eeek change to fast passes....:scared1:

I hadn't heard anything on a change being made. Thanks for the clarification. :flower3:

Maybe we should have a Jungle Cruise meet to search for more victims of the "crash" 2 years ago.

Hey, it's no laughing matter. Those skippers are reckless and should be stopped. I went on safari to Africa and went right up to a tiger, getting terribly mauled, and losing my ulnar nerve in the process. That tiger was supposed to jump 30 feet OVER me!

(The ulnar nerve is the "funny bone".) :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I love the idea of meeting up at different times!! I managed to talk my DH in to a trip over Leap day so we'll be arriving late on Feb 28 and lasting as long as possible during the day, going back to the hotel to take a long nap and then going all night long!! Or at least I will. We will be traveling with a 5 year old, 3 year old and 18 month old so DH may bow out early but I plan on going as long as possible!! It'll be fun to meet everyone early then possibly see them throughout the day and just to see how they are doing. Can't wait to spend all day at Disney!!!

Me and 7 other friends are flying in at 6 am on the 29th and leaving the 1st at 8. We have no hotel! Power naps on the Disneyland Railroad and It's a small world, Earplugs of course :) I hope we can all meet up :):thumbsup2

See you all at 2am!!! Sooooo excited! I am flying in on the 28th and meeting my best friend for the 24 hour challenge. My husband and kids knew they couldn't last the full 24, so it's a mom's getaway. We leave to go home on the 3rd.

My husband surprised me today (Valentine's Day) with two candy canes glued together like a heart and a card that read, "What to give my bride of 17 years for Valentines Day? A Disneyland / Candy Cane Inn getaway!" Yay! He surprised me and booked the Candy Cane Inn for us! I've always wanted to stay there!

See you all in 2 weeks!

Let's make (at least) the 2am meet "official".

I created a Facebook event also...helps me remember. :)

DISboards Disneyland Leap Day Meet
DBF and I will definitely be going! I'd RSVP but I don't use Facebook.

Congratulations! That's such an awesome gift! I hope you have fun and I hope to see you there!

Ok, I've updated the main entry, Carnation Gardens can be our home base for meetups.

I'm going to have my DBF embroider me a "I Survived 24 Hours in Disneyland!" shirt to wear during the saga - I think I'm going to have him put a lime green Mickey on the front!
