Disneyland is a work of love: June 2010 PTR 6/2 p.61 updated itinerary

How long does that take? Our drive is about 10.5 hours and we are driving through too but not going to Disneyland that evening.

If we limit the stopping less than 7 hours. I am hoping for not stopping a lot. But, I am going that night. I can sleep after the park closes at midnight.

7 hours is a slice of pie! :thumbsup2 Will you leave super early in the morning?

Our passes are blocked the Saturday we arrive so we can't go. I actually like it better so I can relax on the drive and not freak DH out to hurry the heck up! :lmao:

We are leaving it like 5 AM and even if we don't rush and I get to Disneyland at 3 PM it is open until midnight. I am the only one with an AP and I bought the premium pass so I have no blackouts so I am cool.

Sweet! Love the plan- sounds just like what we'd do if we could get in.

I thought about making my pass a Premium but decided against it. We can use our DVC discount too so it's all good.

Do you bring your groceries or shop when you get there?

Oh definitely here. One reason I am going to buy some things in bulk at Sam's Club and I have no clue where there is one near DLand.

Not sure where a Sam's is but Walmart is 3 miles away and Target is less than 2 away. I am going to do the same and buy the non parishables at Sam's before. We'll have our Expedition and our friends' Trailblazer and even though they'll be 11 people total in both cars we should have some room for cases of water. We'll buy the fruits, breads, eggs, hummus, etc there. I am so excited to have a full kitchen. My little Chloe made us omlettes in WDW and it was so nice to have a good breakfast in the morning. It was also nice to be able to pop popcon and make pizza rolls for the kids when they wanted something snacky after a long day in the parks. :thumbsup2

Well, that's it. I am at the point I am thinking that I really have to cut some corners and water and breakfast foods are a good way. And we are going in two minivans so we will have rooms. Fruit and snacks are a definite too. I like fruit in the van on the way down.

Cheap breakfast food? Right up my alley.....bagels and cream cheese. $5 will get you 12 bagels and a tub of cream cheese. Will you have a kitchen? Eggs are super cheapie cheap. A toaster? Frozen waffles with syrup and fruit. You could add bacon too. Instant oatmeal. Cereal and milk. If no stove or toaster you can melt cheese on a bagel in the micro and add some turkey. You might want to practice scrambling eggs in the micro. My friend makes killer micro scrambled eggs. I tried and they were horrible but hers are good.

I was wondering about hard boiling eggs and carrying them down in the ice chest. And the bagels yum, and get the cream cheese in a big bucket at Sam's sure would save some money wouldn't it? Turkey bacon is cheap and wonderful. I love oatmeal and you don't even need instant, you can cook quick oats in the microwave. You can make scrambled ages in a ziploc in boiling water, and they aren't bad. Add a little turkey bacon and cheese and it's quite tasty. Easy camping eggs.
