Disneyland is a work of love: June 2010 PTR 6/2 p.61 updated itinerary

It would be wonderful if the trip went as slowly wouldn't it? We can live and hope.

Totally. What is the phenom that leading up to the trip drags and the trip itself feels like a nanosecond? :upsidedow Make it go slower, make it go slower!!!!!!!!

Maybe we should devote our lives to this to discover the mystery. But, of course it would require more trips to Disneyland. I know this would be a hardship but for science and all that I would be willing to suffer.:rotfl:

Me too! :lmao: I am sure Chase bank would be happy to fund our expedition.

:woohoo: I am already to the hardly sleeping stage. :hyper: Looks like I will be resting on the car ride. :lmao: Lucky DH. ;)

:rotfl2:This is the first trip we have taken as a family that we are not leaving right after DH gets off work. It will make a much nicer drive because this way we can share the driving.

:thumbsup2 You must be a mind reader because I am adding a chapter entited: to drive is to snack! Sharing the drive is so much better but DH thinks I am a crappy driver so I rarely drive.

I used to do most of the driving, but I have started letting him drive more and more. I enjoy having the break from driving.

Although there are a total of 4 of us posting, I know there are LOTS of lurkers so I will contnue sans shame.

According to Mapquest, the drive from our home to Disneyland will take 10 hours and 47 minutes. Piece of cake in this baybee. We bought the below new-to-us Eddie Baurer Ford Expedition last year. Not happy about the price of fuel going up but this bad boy will keep us comfy:

Because we have driven from SLC to Disneyland many times, we have learned to make the almost 11 hours enjoyable. Disneyland is only 6 movies away and less if you include Mary Poppins which we do. We also always watch Aladdin and Mulan:

What are movies in the car without travel snacks? The below keep us sane while driving without making us bananas from too much sugar! ;)

There are however 2 fast food places that we are unable to pass up. We have Jack in the Box for lunch as we hit it :lovestruc

And then mother of all mothers for dinner with regard to fast food :cloud9:

:upsidedow Thats just crazy talk. ;) I am envious. DH is a chauvenist when it comes to the driving. :headache:

Oh I know about the lurkers, they are the life blood of the threads. The people that you hope that you say something that draws them out of their hiding place to comment. I agree about In N Out as a must do, I love their food.

In n Out is amazing. We'll have it once if not twice the first night we arrive. And then of course on the way home. I just can't get enough.

Lurkers, we feel you....we know you are he-ere! :grouphug:

We recently had Sonic for the first time. It was wonderful. They have the best shakes.

We have a Sonic about a mile from my house. Everyday from 2-4 all fountain drinks (including adding vanilla or some other flavor) and most slushie type drinks (even the real fruit ones) are 1/2 price. :woohoo: Our friends who are caravanning with us to Disneyland who are from PA have to go to our Sonic whenever they visit.

That's funny. We don't have one here in town. We have to go out of town to enjoy it.

To drive is to snack ... love it! I am a huge Jack in the Box fan! Especially their milkshakes with whipped cream and a cherry and love those curly seasoned fries!

I really don't know what to think about Ariel's and WOC because the CM I spoke with when I called back told me that they aren't doing seating for dinner because... the view from the Grotto is not great and that the powers that be don't want the lights from the restaurant to interfere with the show. So I just don't know what to think. :confused3

I was wondering if there were any rides you wouldn't take a five year old with sensory issues on? My friend was telling me Tower of Tower probably should be skipped? What do you think? Are there any others...oh she is 43 1/2 inches so she is able to ride height wise everything but Maliboomer, Indy and can't drive the cars at autotopia.

From everything I've read smaller kids will be able to ride with a parent on the SS swings. I haven't been since I was twelve and DCA wasn't there. I know it's going to be crowded but I figure if we go early to get on the rides and then do the shows late morning/early afternoon then have a nice lunch before we go and have a break we should fair pretty well.

Drama Queen went to our county fair over the weekend and told me "Mom, I am not and I mean not an adrenalin junkie!" :rotfl: I just couldn't help but laugh.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA ;)

Kris
