So looking to go next spring. When is a good time?

I am very much used to DW and spring breaks. Do they have this issue at DL? I would only be going for a weekend pretty much land either thursday night leave monday type thing at most. What is the weather like in the spring in that area? I lived in San Diego over 10 years ago for about a year and we left right in the spring so I don't remember.

Spring break crowds tend to start mid March and go through April. Going before then will usually mean lower crowds. The last weekend of Food & Wine will usually have slightly elevated crowds, especially around lunchtime in DCA, as annual passholders need to use up their sip & savor passes. Crowds tend to be a bit lower after the event ends. If you must go during spring break time, Easter weekend is sometimes better crowd-wise because Deluxe + Socal passes should be blocked out and people tend to have other plans on Easter Sunday.

Spring Break at DLR is spread out over about 6-8 weeks, with the busiest times usually being the week before and the week after Easter (unless the holiday is particularly early or late). You can look at this thread (which gets updated every year) to see when the major school districts in the states which affect DLR take their Spring Breaks: 2020 Calendar of Events & School Breaks and DLR. See this thread for weather information at DLR:"Detailed Weather Data for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158. Here is the thread for this year's Food & Wine Festival at DCA (before the park closure ended it): DCA Food & Wine 2020 Festival Superthread - Read First Post for Updates - Updated with Full Menus. You can get at least some idea of the crowds and offerings for this yearly event.

The DL spring break crowds come from March to April, and it's one of the most crowded times at Disneyland. The weather is also very random at this time of year. Cold when the sun is down, very hot when the sun is up. It's also a time that SoCal tends to see some rain. If you can wait until the hot part of summer - late mid July through the end of August tends to be one of the least crowded times to visit. Crowds pick back up again when the Halloween season starts (in September).

We have been 4 times: April, May, July, and August with the trip in May of this yr (that we just had to cancel) would have been the 5th time. I'm one of those people that don't think that there is a bad time to be at Disney (hence the saying the worst day at Disney is better then the best day at work LOL) but as a family we do prefer the spring time for a number of reasons. I was sooooo looking forward to being a total nerd on May the 4th in galaxy edge lol.

I am a So Cal native. It can be very hot, chilly, rainy, or snowy (in the mountains). THis is the coldest spring I can remember!

If possible, put off your trip until the first week of May. While there's always something bad to say about any specific time of year, early May has always worked out good for us.

My boyfriend and I went for our birthdays last year the first weekend of March and it turned out to be great. It was raining a lot that weekend so there were a lot fewer people in the park so we were able to get on things fairly quickly. (We walked on to Splash Mountain, he really regretted letting me have that one afterwards :lmao:)He went this year the last week of February to use his AP one last time before it expired and said it was great weather then too.
