Staying there in April, have stayed in Sante Fe and Newport bay twice, what differences should we look forward to?

Just think, after having your breakfast, you can leave the hotel and be at the park gates in less than a minute!! I'm looking forward to staying there in the future.

Firstly the feeling of being at the entrance to magic! You cant beat the feeling. If you get a bit foot sore or just fancy a rest, then you can pop right back in a jiffy.
There is the same soaps, shampoos etc you get at Newport and the chocolate on the pillow.
There is an air of 'posh' about the hotel from the rich furniture all around to the long skirted hostesses.
The pool is much smaller than NPB however but you still get free fluffy towels. You also have in your room two towelling dressing gowns which a lot of people wear over their swimming stuff to go down to the pool. Theres a jacuzzi too and steam rooms and sauna.
You get 3 free FP tickets per person which you can use during your stay on any FP ride you choose. It saves queuing at the machines for the tickets.
Food and drink are pricey - but isnt it everywhere in DLP!! (with exception of McD).
Breakfast is very swish and plentiful. Whereas at Santa Fe you would get the croissants, bread, cereal and yoghurts, in the DLH you get a wider variety and hot breakfast too - as much as you want.

We have stayed before at NPBC, HNY, Kyriad and HI and we just got back from DLH. There is absolutely no comparison IMHO. The DLH is just sheer luxury at its best. Not only the hotel itself but the staff treat you as if you are somebody special, they go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay and no request is too much! I also agree with other replies that the convenience to the parks makes SUCH a big difference. You will not be disappointed-if you are, I'll eat my hat

I haven't stayed at SL but it also looks wonderful. I hope my enthusiasm for DLH is not being misinterpreted. Each of the hotels I have stayed in have ALL been lovely and really special in their own way and for people who only use their room to sleep in the DLH makes no sense due to the high cost. At this particular time due to various circumstances the DLH really made my trip one that I will always treasure.

Staying in a hotel that is inside the park so you are even more part of the magic will make it extra special

An admission first , I've only stopped at DLH so far but having walked around the others it's the convenience for the parks . When we stopped in November our room was 80 steps from the gates ... 80 STEPS ! You also do get spolit rotten .

After having to carry my poorly DD back to the Newport Bay several times, and feeling very envious of the folks staying in the DLH, I managed to persuade DH to stay there next year!!! Yay!!!

BUT after getting an idea of the prices from the current brochure, I realised that rather than having one room at the DLH, we could stay in two rooms at the HNY for just about £100 more!!!

I do like the idea of having more space so I'm tempted by the HNY idea now! But I would be interested to know what other people would choose.

Every time I walk past the Disneyland Hotel, to go and catch the shuttle bus to our hotel, I always say "next time we come, we are staying here!!" Still haven't managed to stay there YET!! I'm working my way through all the hotels and once my next trip is over (Sequoia) that will leave the Hotel NY and Disneyland Hotel yet to try. I'll get there one day!

But however wonderful the DLH is (and I've no doubt it's very special) I'm not sure I want to be squashed into just one room for 4 nights.

Becky I thought you only had the two children, sorry if I am wrong about this. How many of you are going? The DLH rooms seemed larger than HNY.

Perhaps "squashed" was a bit strong!!! I do only have two children Nicola, but I still find sharing a room with them tricky. I know other people manage it fine, but that's just me.

It's interesting to hear that you thought the rooms were bigger than the ones at the HNY. From all the photos I've seen they actually look smaller. At the HNY between the bathroom and outer wall there are two beds (or king) and then a desk. In the pictures of the DLH there just looks as if you have the two beds.

This is why I don't want to go to Disneyland Hotel yet...... nothing else will be good enough after that!

I know we've said this before Tia, and it's definitely a reservation I have about staying at the DLH. I just don't want future visits staying at the other hotels to feel like a bit of let down.

Becky... I hope your first visit to DLH coincides with mine... I don't want to be the only DLH virgin!
