Do all rooms at the DLH have balconies? If not can anyone tell which towers or views do?

Yes, I believe all rooms have balconies. The 6 times I've stayed there, all have had them. :)

Do you have a preference for best tower? We will be there in early June. We plan on being there 6 nights and plan to spend a great deal of our time relaxing around the hotel while the kids (ours are older) tackle to parks.

I prefer the Magic tower. It's nice to have the shops and other things downstairs in case you need anything.

The only other tower we've stayed in was the Wonder and we really did not like it at all. The room was tiny and we had a view of a parking lot. The main floor had vending machines and some places to lounge but that's it. It also is a bit farther of a walk from the parks. The only nice thing about staying in that tower was the koi pond & waterfall right out in front.

Thanks. We are coming from SC for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our 3 children and son-in-law will be coming with us. We want to have a memorable vacation but are trying to keep the cost in check. This will be our only trip to Disneyland. Does the DLH seem to be the best for a variety of ages? My daughters are 17 and 23, son-in-law is 27 and son is 11. Do you have any resturant recommendations? We are not interested in the character dining. We've done it several times at WDW.

Dreams/Sierra is apparently the most popular, probably because its view rooms are either "pool view' or "DTD view". The rooms facing the courtyard and other towers are "pool view" (as are those in the other towers), and the outward facing rooms have a view of DTD.

Magic Tower has the front desk, lobby and shops, and is closest to the hotel parking lot. I think the restaurants and TV viewing room (near Goofy's Kitchen) are also part of this building, as well as the coffee shop. I think outward facing rooms are considered "city view".

Wonder/Bonita rooms facing the courtyard may have a nice view of the waterfall. Some people love the fact that the sound of the waterfall drowns out the noise from the courtyard/pool/bar. I think outward facing rooms are considered "city view".

I believe I read that concierge rooms are only in Dreams/Sierra Tower.

At least in the Dreams Tower, the balconies are not really balconies. I mean, you can't even step out on to them. They have floor to ceiling windows, and you can open the slider door and there is about 4 inches of space then bars. Here's a pic:

Gee - you learn something new here on the boards everyday! We'll be staying in the DLH in May and I didn't even realise we'd have a balcony!

We've booked a standard room so I'm assuming we'll have a city view. :)

We thought the balcony was pretty cool on our first trip. DH threw the sliding glass doors wide open and immediately the kids were right at the railing looking at the pool. The floor part of the balcony looked like flimsy plywood...

THEN I read the little note that birds may come in through the open windows...

THEN DS (then 2yo) started to climb the railing!

So we always kept ours closed and locked. I loved having the huge windows and view, though. :rotfl:

We booked a standard room on our last visit and ended up with a pool view room in the Dreams/Sierra tower...on the second floor. You could hear every person walking by (and rolling their luggage) on the walkway between the tower and the pool. It was a small room without a sofa/daybed. I actually preferred the standard room my son and I had on our previous trip which was overlooking the front entrance to the main tower (Magic, I believe). The view wasn't exciting, but the room was bigger and much quieter.
