Disneyland Hotel Room Remodel?

I believe the Adventure (Dreams or Sierra) tower is complete, this has the Mickey Penthouse Suite as well as the Concierge Lounge in it. The other two are still under construction. The Frontier (Wonder or Bonita) was stared before the Fantasy (Magic or Marina). Also, most of the whole inner area is also under construction, so Hook's Pointe, the arcade, Wine Cellar, etc. have gone away.

Okay thanks! Looks like i'll call today and make a request to be in the Dreams tower then!

Thank you!

Sounds like good information was shared. I just spent a night in the Dreams tower last weekend and we got one of the renovated rooms. I love them!!

They honestly look fantastic!!

I just called reservations and asked them to make a note on my ressie, to request a room in the Dreams tower. She told me since I reserved a "Preferred Room" that I will be in the Dreams tower anyway, but she made a note just in case!

The southernmost tower should be done now, as they were starting on the northern one when we were there a couple weeks ago. But if you book a preferred room you will get a renovated one. I can't keep the names straight anymore, other than dreams!

Yes, as far as I know--the Dreams tower is now complete, and the Wonder Tower is still under construction, with some rooms being complete. I am not sure of the status of the Magic tower, but if there are some completed it is very few of them.

We have stayed in a remodeled room our last 3 trips to Disneyland. The first time we simply requested a remodeled room (in Dreams tower) and were put there. The next trip we paid for an upper tower view room and requested a remodeled room, but were offered a room in the Magic Tower not remodeled. I stressed the the CM how much we wanted a remodeled room (once you go remodeled, you never want to go back!), and they were able to give us one with a standard view. That was fine--I didn't mind so much the lower tower view as long as we could have the remodeled room. Our last trip (in November) I saw that there was a change in the pricing system. Now, in order to be gauranteed a remodeled room, you have to pay for an upgraded option called "preferred" room.

Now that they have the option where people are paying extra for the preferred room, it is much more difficult to get a remodeled room without paying for the upgrade--even if you request it.

Here is a great video showing what the remodeled rooms look like.

Hi Dahlia,
The Magic Tower is the one that connects to the lobby of the main entrance. This is actually the only tower we haven't stayed in. The views either look over parking/disneyland hotel entrance or a pool view. Some views to the side overlook downtown disney and the parks.

The Dreams Tower (the one that seems to be most requested and overlooks either the pool or Downtown Disney) is very easy to love because it is the closest to Downtown Disney and the parks. It has that door on the Downtown Disney side that makes for easy access that we love! Some views also look towards parking.

The Wonder Tower (use to be called Bonita) overlooks the pool area, parking, and from side windows Downtown Disney and the parks (limited views). We use to be put here every time we visited (always with a pool view--we tend to pay for an upper tower view), until I came to the DIS and realized people liked the Dreams Tower. Now we request the Dreams Tower every time we go, but don't always get our request.

Yes, I know the names and where they look, but always mix them up and didn't want to type the wrong one. :)

As I was saying, when we were there, they were finishing up the wonder tower and starting on the magic tower. So I would think the wonder tower would be done now or will be done very soon, and if you book a remodeled room you stand a 50/50 chance between that and dreams. They were just starting the first block of room sin the magic tower - so if you book a regular room (non preferred) you will most likely be in that tower dealing with the construction. We stayed in Dreams.

Anyone know how the pool area and outside construction is going? We arrive in two months and don't know what to expect.:confused3

When we were there the whole courtyard was a mess. The Neverland pool is open, but a lot of the theming is gone (just the pirate ship and a bit of the backdrop remains). From what I understood (though we didn't use the option), guests at DLH can get a pass to use the pools at the other hotels. I REALLY doubt the cove pool area will be ready in 2 months. We were told by the summer, but I still wonder if it's possible. This is what the construction looked like 2 weeks ago from the 6th floor Dreams tower:

DahliaRW-Was the pool open when you were there? Is there anywhere within the hotel to pick up a cheap and easy breakfast?

Yes, the neverland pool is open. My kids LOVED it. There is a kid-sized waterslide that's about 3 feet long and was perfect for them.

Breakfast wise, your best bet on site is to go to White Water Snacks in GCH or just pick up something in DTD (Jamba Juice has oatmeal and pastries, for example, or the bookstore close to DLH). What we did, was grocery delivery from Vons. We spent around $100 (there were 7 of us) and got enough groceries for 6 breakfasts and 4-5 lunches. Saved a ton over eating. We did things like cereal, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, sandwiches (for lunch), etc.

DD and I had a room like that last 4th of July weekend! It was club level *I paid for a standard room  Our room had just one bed ~ I think it was a King. We were in the Dreams Tower.

ETA ~ here are some fotos of our room...

Can anyone tell me if the new remodeled rooms include a pull out couch? I'm trying to see if 5 people can fit into one of these rooms. Thanks!

The two rooms we had both had the pull out couches (and 2 queens). They actually don't pull out, though, they like futon out or something weird. I never did take the time to figure it out, we didn't need it. The DLH rooms are very roomy, IMO, and fit 5 people well. We had 5 in ours, though we put all 3 kids in one bed so we didn't use the couch.

That's OK because they are gonna be switching them up anyways! Once they do that It'll be real fun... Dreams becomes Adventure, Wonder becomes Frontier, and Magic becomes Fantasy.

BTW...I think they are chnging the names because they got mad that someone decided to name the cruise ships after the hotel towers!
