Hello,
I am planning a trip for may to SL, and am trying to find a place to stay. We have stayed at the hojo before, and it was ok. Clean, but a little bit of a walk. Can anyone tell me which hotels are close and clean? We are looking for atleast hojo or better. That you very much.

Most of the hotels that are walking distance are going to be about the same age and type as the hojo's. Hojo's, Candy Cane and the Fairfield are all good places but nothing fancy- older motel style. If you want nicer/ newer you need to either stay on site, have a rental car for transportation or use ART.

If I were to stay down the road a bit, I think there were nicer accomodations, do they have shuttles? If not how bad is the parking at DL? Thank you very much!

The hotels down the street, like Embassy Suites and Residence Inn are on the Anaheim Resort Transit shuttle. This shuttle is $3 per day for adults and free for kids under 12 and services many of the hotels in the area. I believe it picks up every 30 minutes or so, but since it stops at several hotels, it may take awhile to reach the parks. Parking at DL is $10 per day, but if you purchase park tickets through AAA you get free parking. Personally if we didn't have a daughter in a wheelchair(I dn't like depending on shuttles that may or may not have working wc lifts) we would go with the Embassy or RI for the free hot breakfast! Better than a cold buffet any day, IMO!

I am trying ti figure out where the other entrances are. I notice from the maps on this site, that the main entrance (by tropicana, fairfield...)is where we entered before. Is there other entrances? We are looking at the holiday inn and suites off walnut, and also the 2 best westerns off of Katella. Are there entrances close to these, or do we have to walk all the way to the fairfield inn area off of Harbor? Thank you very much.

We have stayed at some close and some down the road (Hyatt, Marriott, Embassy) Our favorite is still Candy Cane Inn. Free shuttle or 10 min walk.

Not sure, but I think there is only one main entrance to get to the parks, unless you come in on the tram from the parking garage. But there is still only one main ticket purchase place and only one entrance into each park.

Which hotel is the closest to the entrance? Is that one good? Like I said we stayed at hojo, but at the end of the day walking back was pretty long.

Here is an interesting article at mouseplanet http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm060329as It will answer many of your questions regarding distance. I highly recomend the candy cane inn. While it isnt an upscale resort hotel, its close, clean and has a great shuttle. The shuttle runs every 1/2 hour (on the hour and 30 from the hotel, and the 15 and 45 from the parks). The last shuttle is usually 45 min after the park closes.

We stayed at the HoJo and also thought the walk a bit far, especially in the evening. We loved the property but wanted to find something closer that was as clean and we found it with the Tropicana. Our room was spotlessly clean, they had a free (minimal but enough to get us going) continental breakfast which was an added bonus. This hotel does not have the lovely grounds the HoJo does but it does have some nice landscaping features. It has been recently rennovated and the staff was wonderful. It is the second motel in from the crosswalk. So on the same side of the street as the HoJo but closer. It took us about five minutes to get from our room to the turnstiles of Disneyland. The pool area is nice, not as nice as the HoJo's, it doesn't have sprayjets, but its still nice. And unlike the HoJo, the Tropicana is not next to the I-5 freeway so you don't run the risk of getting a room with highway noise.
