Right now the AP cost for DLH from Dec 6 - 13 is $1819 + tax, and from Nov 29 - Dec 6 it's $1824 + tax.

What a huge deal. This is about 30% off. Are you sure this is for the DLH or is it for PPH? If it is in fact for the DLH then thankyou for the heads up, I will phone tomorrow and see if my dates in November are also discounted like this.

I just got back yesterday from a 5 day 6 night trip. On reflection, I am so glad I didn't spend thousands more on the DLH.

We were up at 6:30 every day, than off to the parks, and not back till after midnight. There is no way we would have traded an afternoon at the parks to play in the pools at the DLH.

Just my .2; not worth the high price for most folks. I got a nice suite room with 3 queen beds, directly across the street from the park. Nice and clean with breakfast included. Total with taxes for 6 nights + parking was $1064.

I can't do the Park like that for several days in a row. It's too exhausting to be out for nearly 18 hours a day (!?). For many people, especially those with younger kids it would be impossible to maintain that pace even with a mid day break. I think the DLH is ideally suited to those for whom the hotel is part of their vacation and not just a place to stay. I have never stayed myself because I tend to go down in off season with shorter hours so we spend much of our day in the Park. Next trip DH has said that he doesn't want to do as much walking and to incorporate more R&R time and based on that pov the DLH might suit those of a similar frame of mind.

i have a 5 and 9 year old and pools and such are part of the deal. But we decided to stay the first night a Wed at BW across the street...
use our early entry with our MYW 5 day park hoppers on thursday morning.
then i booked through orbitz with 15% off for thur-Sun..so 3 nights..at $360 per night wtih the discount. plus tax i believe it was $1345 for three nights. but that gets us early entry to DCA on Friday and Sunday...and enjoy the DLH pools and the experience more.

We won't be back for many many years..so saving on the first night at BW directly across from DL..helped me swallow paying for the following 3 nights.

Where did you stay, and was it a Neighbor?

A PP was talking about the advantages of having the AP.

The percentages and free 5 x 7 photo advantages of having an AP are almost the same as having the Disney Visa cards.

Not to mention you get 6 months Interest Free Financing on Disney vacations with them. I also was informed by CMs that you can book the Neighborhood hotels as packages that would be included in the 6 month interest free as well, and be able to use rewards towards them (which is not something I can do on Orbitz...)

APs expire and cost a bunch, but my rewards cards got us over $900 in benefits in the 14 months we have had them, plus the onsite perks...and now I have another 18 months to build up rewards for DLR next Dec. Woohoo!

I stayed here:

I highly recommend it. I was in room 203, and was literally right across the street from the park. I would walk out of my room, and would be at the turn tiles in less than 10 minutes.

The rooms are nice and clean. And the suites have 3 queen size beds.

Here is a shot of the front of our room (Red Arrow). The crosswalk into DLR is right in front of the hotel. It is actually closer than the closest room at the GCH, when you factor in return times both ways.

And we did sleep in on 2 days. We had to because of the pace and coralling 4 kids.

I'm sorry - you're right! Those are PPH prices. DLH is $2386 for 12/6-13 and $2405 for 11/29-12/6. :sad1:
