What are my chances to get a deal on The DLH the second week of December?

It's currently over $400 a night and I'm booked with a disney travel agent so she will be watching it for me and getting me the best price she can.

I am just hoping that the second week of dec will have some deals - and if so when do those deals usually come up?

Thanks!

Don't know if it would be worth it to get an AP but with just the regular discount it avg. out to $328.50 a night for Dec 7-13 if you gave me your actual dates I could see what it averages to. :)
We go in December and I want to say that the deals started to come out in Oct. In fact last year we changed to the new rate (AP rate) October 2.

We will be there Dec. 8-12 and I am hoping for room discounts. This will be our first and last trip to DL.

Thanks! My dates are December 6-13

$2,386.00 + Tax or an Average of $340.85 a night.
Usually what I do to see if an AP is worth it for one of us I figure how much a park ticket would cost me and then the savings on the hotel. If you are already going to be paying over $400.00 a night then the savings of say $60.00 x 7 nights is a savings of $420.00 and $499.00 is the cost of the deluxe AP with none of your days blocked out. Just something to think about :D

Just wanted to add that lat year we stayed at PPH and the avg price per night for us was $303.67 with taxes a night but we had more weekend days. So I would say that the price would come down per night at the DLH.

What is nice about your days is that you have no weekend dates which are usually more per night. Do you want me to check your dates on the AP site?
I think the worse thing is waiting for them to announce the discounts but it seems likely it will happen in Oct.

Have you tried looking it up through Orbitz. I often get promos and it usually is cheaper than going the AP route. For our past several trips, even though we have APs, we've booked through Orbitz.

The only problem is that the current Orbitz code only goes through 11/15.

Thank you for looking that up - I'll have to give getting an AP consideration. I know we won't be able to come back for a few years so not sure if that's the way to go or not. Do you think it's worth it to just get 1 AP for the discounts?

How often does orbitz give out codes? My daughter and I are going dec 10-14, at the present time I'm using Getaway today. We are using the layaway plan so I do have the option of canceling at anytime. Like everyone else trying to find the best deals. Thanks for the information

That is what we do, we only have one AP and we only go once a year. How much do you plan to eat in the parks? As long as you are the one paying you get 10% off. If you are doing a tour the discount is 20% merchandise discounts are 10% as well. Last year the perk was getting 1 fast pass per person and a free 5x7 photo. How much is the ticket you plan to purchase for yourself? Take that amount out of the AP and then figure out what you will save.

It seems that when one code expires, they seem to email me another code within a few weeks or less. I've really only been paying attention for the past 6 months, though. They have a good cancellation policy, though. Usually up to one or two days beforehand. The only caveat is that you have to prepay the entire reservation.

So if I buy one AP I can get a room discount? Please check on my dates. Thanks

Right now the AP cost for DLH from Dec 6 - 13 is $1819 + tax, and from Nov 29 - Dec 6 it's $1824 + tax.

We will be there from the 6th to the 10th. I am also waiting/watching/hoping for a good deal on the DLH.

Would you mind checking annual pass prices for my dates? I've been debating getting a pass as well.

I'm going oct. 24th through Nov. 1st and would like DLH or PPH.

If you book through Disney with an AP do you have to pay it all up front?

If disney offers a room discount and orbitz has a code can you double up for more savings? That's what I was hoping for.

Can you check the annual pass rate for my dates, I have been wondering if it was worth it. We are going Oct. 24 - Nov. 1. We would like PPH or DLH. If you book through disney is payment due up front? If disney offers a discount the same time orbitz has a code can you double up for more savings?

Oops I just saw a posted twice, sorry!

At this time, the discount is going to be about 10%. If you book through WDTC or the website, first nights room is immediately charged. And no to doubling on discounts. You can book through Orbitz or Disney. If you book through Orbitz, no AP discount.

Also, look at Cheaptickets.com. They offer 20-25% discounts sometimes.

Hello :) These are the current prices for 8 nights, standard room: DLH = $3190.59 and that includes tax, and you have to pay $449.28 at the time of booking, with the balance due upon check-in. PPH = $2420.73 including tax, with $331.11 due at the time of booking. I don't think they allow you to combine discounts one on top of another, but I have read that seasonal discounts are sometimes available so you should keep checking. I'm planning on booking a room for November and then checking for a better discount right up until I go.

Also, to explain the amount due at the time of booking, this is from the Disney website: Deposits for Room Only reservations are limited to an amount equal to one night's room plus tax. The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival.
