Disneyland Hotel Premium Views

While we had planned to stay at the Grand Californian, but my in-laws are complaining about the price. So we're looking at the Disneyland Hotel. We are worried about getting the unfinished building.

Disneyland seems to offer the Premium Views for a higher cost. Does anyone know what that means?

We stayed at the Grand Cali about 3 months ago. Premium views would be either, 1. Pool views 2. Park views of DCA or 3. Downtown Disney view.

I didn't pay for a premium view because I figured we would be spending most of our time in the parks, which was true.

Having said that, there are some rooms that look right over DCA and down onto the World of Color show. That would have been cool room to have since you can skip the crowds and catch the show twice a night from the comfort of your own balcony... Ohhh to be rich enough...

When we went in June, premium referred to rooms on floors 7 - 9. If you got a pool or resort view, you would be on either side of the dreams tower (overlooking the pool or DTD) or the "inside" facing the pool of the Wonder or Magic tower. "Deluxe" meant rooms on floors 3-6 (either pool or resort). "Standard" meant parking lot - "city" - view rooms.

Not sure what has changed since then, but we got a 9th floor pool view in the dreams tower and we had paid for a premium view room, with a request for a renovated rooms. At that point, only Dreams had been renovated, but I think they could have given us an upper floor in one of the other two towers and it would have been considered "premium".

We recently stayed in Premium view at Dreams tower at the DL hotel. The view is electric! You can see Paradise Pier, The Grand Californian, and part of Disneyland.... When you make the reservation, ask for the Dream tower RESORT VIEW. The renovated rooms are wonderful.
