Okay so I now have great rates at both hotels using the Super Sunday rates.. Really need help deciding on which one.... We are 2 adults, a almost 5 yr boy & 20 month girl (so need room for a crib). Which would be better for us.

I keep getting wishy washy.. I know what the room on DH are like and they worked out really well for us last year.. But if we stayed at the GCH you are right there at California Adven and only a hop away from Disneyland whereas if at DH it seems like a hike when toting 2 little ones along.. Loved the DH pool but not too impressed with pictures of GCH and since we will be there for 7 nights will definately lounge by a pool..

See what I mean about wishy washy?? HELP!!!!!!

doodlebug,

Did you end up getting better rates??? Good for you! We stayed at GCH last April. It was our first time staying onsite. We loved it! Our kids are alittle older than yours (8 & 13) so the rooms felt alittle on the small side. We got a room with a queen bed and bunk beds.

It was nice to be able to walk thru DCA to get to our hotel. It seemed faster than walking thru DTD.

I thought the pool was really nice. It isn't "themed"--but I found it really relaxing. The weather wasn't great when we were there (alittle cool) but my 8 year-old didn't mind! There were a few small slides and a big slide at one of the pools. The small slides were roped off for some reason.
I believe there is a large hot tub nearby too.
I remember that there were plenty of chairs etc.

Since you have already stayed at DLH--why not give GCH a try!:)

Yes I got even a better rate... I guess if you keep trying you can get what you want after all and the last time got a GREAT cm who helped me work a really good deal. Though we had to make 3 sep. reservations (2 at Weekend rate & 1 at weekday rates)..

We now have 2 sets of reservations and a couple weeks to decide :D

Well, if you get a room with bunkbeds, there might be room for a crib in there. The GC is closer, yes, and with a little one that is an advantage. You would have to backtrack to take the monorail, if that is important to you at all. The pools at the GC were very low-key in theming, and you are surrounded by the hotel and DCA - there is no 'getting away from it all' feeling there, but it is nice enough. I personally prefer the DLH for room and ambience (my 11-yr-old heartily agrees), but if you got a great rate you should try the GC. Many people love it.

We have stayed at both and prefer the GCH. For us, it was very relaxing. We have stayed twice. The first visit we had a great view of DD and the last visit we overlooked Grizzly River Rapids, right over the entrance to DCA. I loved this view. It was never noisy and it was fun to watch the park activity both day and night. It is just my DH and I, with no children and I do think the DLH is a little more geared to kids, however. We are returning to the GCH in May for 4 nights and can't wait.
