This mumma needs a laundry break! I want our holiday to be a break for all, hence my desire not to do laundry.

I understand the Disneyland Hotel has a laundry service. Does anyone know the cost involved? I asked our travel agent who was told the pricing is in the closet in the room. Not very helpful!

Thanks so much.

Your travel agent is right.

I'm trying to remember from my last trip and for some reason $6.00 to iron a shirt is coming to mind, I'd debated doing the same, but once I worked out the cost, quickly changed my mind, way too expensive and I don't mind taking a couple hours and reading a book while waiting for laundry.

If all else fails I would call the hotel directly and ask.

Thanks so much. The travel agent did call Disney and that was the reply she got. Bit sad really. Might just have to do it myself. *sigh*

Sorry. I don't remember the exact prices, but I do remember it being quite expensive. $6 a shirt seems about right. I think jeans were about that too.
I have used the laundry rooms at GCH and PPH and they are not that much trouble. A small load to wash and dry is about $6. We put the clothes in the washer and walk around the hotel for awhile. Then go back to put them in the dryer which seems to dry them pretty fast. Start to finish it doesn't take an hour and a half.

Hotel laundry services are always very expensive. You're paying for the convenience. Frequently you can find local laundry services much cheaper. Some of them even pick up and deliver. You'll have to call around to find out.

Here, start with a google search: http://goo.gl/maps/nnLyc

You can call the hotel directly (I'd look the number up for you, but I'm on ny phone and it's a pain) and get laundry prices. That's what I would do. Or pack enough you don't need any laundry done (how long are you going?) at those crazy prices. We always end up doing a load or two.in the hotel laundry room.

I am in the Paradise Pier Hotel right now and was horrified to learn that the only coin laundry is at Disneyland resort. I am not a happy camper! The service prices are ridiculous as expected. The avg shirt price is $6 indeed. Pants and shorts are $7.50, while socks are a bargain at $2.

Is the laundry room on the 2nd floor in PPH under construction?

Thanks so much, this is a great idea. Might get the travel agent onto it.

As we are coming from Australia we will have to do laundry at some point. So sad :( lol. I kinda wish someone would pixie dust it away.

Maybe take the opportunity to make it a FAMILY break and have them help out? Then hang out outside the laundry area, playing on the grass, etc? Or have it be a total break FROM the family for you, throw laundry in, go have a nice workout (it's right next to the workout facility), just take some alone time?

I don't mind laundry on vacation. Just a part of life for me, and I had to do it when I was single just like it has to be done with a family. I'm not willing to be a "naturalist" so it's gotta be done. :)

That is an awesome idea Grandbob. Thanks for that idea. I totally know where you're coming from Izzybjenn. I wish there was a laundry fairy too but I am also unwilling to pay that amount to get it done for me. I'll check out Grandbobs idea. I'm from Australia too and we're going in November for 15 days. When are you going and for how long?
Last time we went we stayed at the grand and did our laundry there. Fortunately my mum was with us so she stayed with the kids and hubby and I went and put the laundry in and then walked around dtd for a while and then back to stick it in the dryer and our clothes weren't stolen lol. Maybe take a two hour break in the middle of the day to take the kids swimming while the laundry is in. I hate swimming while at Disney lol it's kinda like a waste to me when you can swim at home lol but the kids must do it,a nd laundry must be done so why not kill two birds with one stone. lol

This place looks good http://www.949laundry.com/fluff-n-fold/ at $1.45 a pound of laundry to be picked up and delivered in 2 days. I have an 11 kg washing machine that would probably fit most of our travel laundry in so that's less than 25 pounds so it would be less than $37. That sounds more reasonable to me. I guess you could just leave a bag of laundry at the bag holding area at check in and then pick it up from the same place.

We are heading to DLH for our first time in early February. Yay!!! We will be traveling with 2 young children. I would like to do laundry on site. Does anyone know if laundry facilities are available in all 3 towers? What it costs to wash and dry a load. Quarters or room cards? Are the hours restricted? I'd love to have a plan so I can do this before or after we go to the park.

The laundry is located off by the work out area. Not in the towers but close to Goofy's. If you walk out the main lobby and follow all the windows around Goofy's kitchen to the end of the building you should find it. I don't remember the cost or hours though sorry!

That location doesn't sound too far from the pool. So it may be feasible to do it during your pool time.

ALL Hotel laundry prices are along those lines, its more like a dry cleaning service. I need to use it sometimes on business trips but for work clothes its more justified. Your best bet will be some kind of by the pound laundry service, that's more intended for large loads of regular clothes. Many dry cleaners also offer that you'll just need to call around a bit.

:thumbsup2 This is what I love to do - go put in a load of laundry, go hang out by the pool, set timer on iPhone, go put it in the dryer and then by the time you are ready to head back up to the room your laundry is done. Mind you this is not at the DLH but it's the same idea - doing it during down time but not wasting time.

Gotta love getting two birds with one stone!! :cool1:

Laundry facilities are by the gym, which is near the Frontierland Tower. My daughter (in charge of laundry on long trips) says it is $4 to wash/dry.
