We are staying at the Cheyenne Hotel but i want to surprise and treat my husband by taking him for breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel on at least 1 morning possily 2 if we cannot get a Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast.

My question is do you just go to the hotel and then restaurant and pay at the door of the restaurant or do you have to book/pay elsewhere?

Is it guaranteed that you can pay for breakfast at the hotel or is it just if they are not full? (Do not want to walk all the way there to find out we cannot have it)

Does anyone know how much it is last time i heard it was 14Euros with no discount for staying at another Disney Hotel but a shareholders discount is possible.

Also is there anywhere else to have breakfast other than the Hotels, Cafe Mickey and Good Morning Fantasyland if available.

Have heard that the scrum in Cheyenne is really bad and although we want to do it 1 day to get the full effect of staying there would rather have breakfast the other 2 days somewhere a bit more special/relaxing!

Having done this, and doing it again next month, I know for definite that -

you don't book and/or pay for the DLH breakfast in advance, you just go to the Inventions restaurant and tell the greeter there that you are not a guest at the hotel, but you'd like to pay for breakfast.

I have no idea if they'd admit you if they were full - the best way to avoid this possibility would be to go for breakfast either very early (ie before 8am) or late (ie after 9.30am) :).

Yes, the price is 14 euros per adult, 6 euros per child, and yes, there is either AP discount or shareholders discount if you ask. No discount for being a guest at another onsite hotel.

There are other options for breakfast - theres the other onsite hotels, where you can also pay for breakfast, theres McDonalds, theres Earl of Sandwich, and Annettes do a breakfast/brunch until 1pm too.

Honestly, if you're not going to DLP in high packed-out season, I don't realistically think you'll find the DLH breakfast restaurants full, at any time of the morning.

I think so - but we're all different, and want different things from our meals.

I don't like early breakfast anywhere, so when we do the DLH breakfast, it will be more like brunch (ie we won't be going to the restaurant until around 10am). That way I can take my time over it, enjoy it to its fullest, and know that we won't (going on previous experience) be remotely hungry again until evening :).

I think you can make a reservation just inside the entrance to DL. I think it is at City Hall. Maybe you could go on your second or third day. My family does not do breakfast because we want to get into the park while it is not crowded. Instead we eat dinner (buffet) at Goofy's Kitchen - DLH. My girls still enjoy going as teens. We find the food good and enjoy the character interaction. You might want to consider dinner especially if the park is closing early, I don't know when you are traveling.

I think you are talking about DL California here. This is the DLP (Paris) board

I've been wondering exactly the same thing Belle's World, thanks for asking the questions.

I've read that characters come in around breakfast time, is that true?
It's not my reason for eating in there but it'd be a bonus. I really like the idea of getting in for EMH and then heading off for a lovely breakfast without having to realy leave the magic.

Characters don't actually come into the restaurant at breakfast time but they are outside. :goodvibes

as jothp said, no, the characters don't come around your tables in the restaurant in Inventions at breakfast time. They are positioned right outside the restaurant though, so you can meet a couple of them before you go in to eat, and another couple of them when you come out again :).

Thanks for that jothp and DLPdaft.

Can you believe in all the years I've been going to DLP I have yet to set foot inside the DLH! I'm going to make up for it this year though. ;)

DLH breakfast was one of my favourite things about staying there.

I don't know if I have the excuse to do it though now we've upgraded to HNY and that we're having main meal lunches. :(

I'd probably do it every day as an early lunch if we were staying in any other hotel though. I think for 14€ its a great selection and if you eat after EMH at about 10am you'll be really ready to fill up and get your money's worth. :)

Just to throw mine into the mix, I must be the only person that doesn't rate the dlh breakfast :lmao: we stayed there in Dec and everyday I was disappointed, I'm comparing it with our 2 stay at HNY, I felt alot more crowded in dlh at breakfast and although the food items were the same as in HNY I felt they weren't prepared as well, even the coffee was bad. So I wouldn't recommend it but maybe we just had an off few days.

Thanks to all who have answered, i am really looking forward to going back to Disneyland Hotel for breakfast as we stayed there in 2004 for our honeymoon and the whole thing was magical.
When we stayed there was no breakfast slots you just went to the restaurant when you wanted, there was a small que outside but this is where the characters are. Normally 2 characters changed over the breakfast period, one day we were lucky enough to see Mickey and Minnie on their change over period.
When you get into Inventions it looks out over the park, tea and coffee is served to your table and then you get up to the breakfast buffet which had so many options much more than the New York including hot items - fried egg, scrambled egg, sausages, beans, tomatoes, mush rooms, hash browns, pancakes, croissants, pan au chocolate, cereal - the list is almost never ending!
The tables did seem closer together than at the New York but this didn't bother me at all. Would definately recommend. Just a shame you can't get a discount for staying at another hotel.

can anyone tell me what the selection is at the DLH? is there pancakes? maple syrup? i know there are hot foods such as bacon, eggs, sausage, beans... can anyone be a bit more specific ? :)

thank you in advance

I enjoyed it when we stayed there & I liked the setting. I personally wouldn't pay €14 to have breakfast if I was staying onsite as the only difference is the hot items & I very rarely have that for breakfast over here. Everyone is different though:thumbsup2

When I stayed at the DLH all that was different from the HNY was that the DLH had pancakes as well as the hot & cold items.

Also just to let people know that the sausages are veal, I liked them & i'm very fussy about sausages:rotfl:

When we were there last October there were pancakes and maple syrup. On offer were -

cereals
hot items (sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, roast potatoes, beans)
pastries (croissants, pain au chocolate, nommy little danishes)
many types of bread
cheese, jam, syrup
yogurts and yogurt drinks
very nice orange juice, apple juice and I think pineapple and grapefruit
