Disneyland hotel- 5 in a room

Our family of 5 is going to stay at the Disneyland hotel next month. I'm trying to figure out how the room will be configured.

Kids are (almost) 3, 4, and 5 1/2. And mom & dad.

Has anybody done this before at the DLH?

Are there sofa beds here? Or will we be getting a roll away?


When we've vacationed in the past, we've stayed in condos. Just not sure how we're gonna squeeze everybody into one hotel room.

When we stayed at the DL in the non-updated rooms, we had two queen beds and a nice daybed that basically became a twin bed (it might be a bit smaller). If you have concerns about the five of you, contact the hotel and ask them about bed configurations and make your room type request. Also, the DL Hotel is going through a massive renovation. I'm not certain what the new rooms look like.

We actually found it to have generous space (compared to some hotels we've been in before). The bathroom also had 2 sinks and the toilet area had it's own door (loads of privacy).

We also typically stay in a condo when travelling as well and were also worried about all staying in 1 room. But we found for this trip that we all went to bed at the same time (other than when the 2 yr old fell asleep watching fireworks from our room). It worked out really well.

Did you tell them you had 5 in your party? Is this considered standard? Do you pay more for the daybed? What happens if you get there and you don't get it? I have four very tall daughters for their age they wouldn't all fit in a queen...this is all great info to know! Thanks fellow disers!

I've stayed at the DLH twice in the past year, most recently we received 2 queen beds with the "daybed". It's suitable for a child, not sure about an adult, at least not in our family as we're all giants Our first stay we did not get the daybed, we had a table and chairs and there were actually 5 in our room. The catch was we had an adjoining room with my folks that required a handicap room. I was told they prioritize your requests. So in our case handicap was first, adjoining rooms second and the daybed was third, which they couldn't fullfill. So a rollaway was put in my parents' room, can't imagine it in ours, but I guess it would be possible, but then we'd have nowhere for luggage. So my suggestion, make sure to call and request a daybed for your reservation. I'm sure they'll say they can't guarantee it, but they do their best for all requests. Have a wonderful time!

This is what I'm confused about. I do need to be guaranteed that we'll all have a place to sleep. If they can't get us a day bed, we can't all sleep in the room. I don't know what we're supposed to do if they can't make sleeping arrangements for all 5 of us. (??)

A place for all 5 of us to sleep isn't a request, isn't a necessity. We can't sleep 5 people on 2 queen size beds.

My husband talked to the reservations people (actually, 2 of them). I think I"ll call back again and ask them to clarify this.

I am so sorry, yes, it could have been 2 doubles. But they seemed roomy for myself (5'8") and my 6'1" husband. We have a King at home, so I have forgotten what size a queen is.

Yes, they knew that we had 5 in our party. No, we did not pay extra, however my youngest was only 1 when we checked in (she turned 2 on our trip).

I made the reservation and there was no comment about 'maybe' or "we'll do our best" with regard to the daybed/sleeping places for 5. The room was quite large, I can't think of what else they would put into the room in lieu of the daybed (there was ample space for it, a few feet between the daybed and the window). I dozed on the daybed one morning with my 2 yr old and I fit on it (I'm 5'8").

Reading your post made me curious. I booked a room my sister who has 3 kids as well as 2 other families. When I booked they said we would have 2 queens or 2 doubles. I requested queens for our gang as DH is 6'4" and his feet hang off the end of a double. We have stayed at DLH before and always had queen beds. I found this link in another thread .......

Seems to me that the queen rooms are significantly better and certainly the ones I remember being in. For the DLH experts......How many rooms do they have that are queens vs. doubles? Ie... what are our chances of getting a queen/daybed?

I did not know that there is an option for 2 queens or 2 doubles..they didn't ask me when I made our reservations. I will have to call and follow up!! I am getting worried about my trip!

One more thing it looks to me that the 415 sqft room has the daybed is that right? I don't know if I saw the answer to this previously or not. But when you are trying to get one of their deals for the Standard room does this daybed room cost more?

We had two queen beds (I am positive as my husband and I are tall, and we had plenty of room) and a daybed. We did not request this room set-up, and paid for a standard room, but were upgraded to a pool view upon check-in. This was during the month of September when the park is not as full.

From what I remember when we stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel, they only had double beds and a daybed in rooms. Those beds were obviously smaller.

I have learned (the hard way) to make room requests, listing in priority, what I would like. This has worked for us in the past. Good luck!

Cool! It just sounded like it was hit or miss whether or not we'd all have a place to sleep.

We have:
Adults/Children/Infants: 2/2/1.
Accomodations/# of rooms: DH S5/1

DS will be a few weeks shy of his third birthday, so I guess he's considered an infant. That won't mess up our request for sleeping arragements, will it? Oh, dear if they try to put him in a crib, it'll be ugly.

My daughter turned 2 on our trip, they asked when I booked if I needed a bed or a crib/PNP. I told them a bed, she would not have slept in a crib either.
