Anyone know when Disneyland will begin their Halloween holiday overlay? I would like to avoid it!

So then this brings me to the next questions, does this shut down any attractions in late August or very early September?

thanks~

The Halloween overlay usually starts installation the week after Labor Day. That means the Haunted Mansion will be closed. This is the only ride affected by Halloween changes.

Space Mountain is too. But that's usually only for a day or two now.

HalloweenTime will either begin on the last Friday in September or the next to last Friday in September (Disneyland has done it both ways in the past). They start to bring out Fall/Halloween food items immediately after their Summer season is over at the end of August, and you start to see Halloween store & window displays slowly go up right after that.

Haunted Mansion closed down for its overlay right before Labor Day in 2010, much to the shock of quite a few people who thought it would hold off until after the holiday weekend. It opened as Haunted Mansion Holiday right before HalloweenTime began, and stayed in that version through today. It should shut down for its overlay removal tomorrow.

Space Mountain will also shut down at some point in September for its Ghost Galaxy overlay, but that does not take nearly as long to install as the Haunted Mansion one does.

Halloween season should end right after Halloween is over, but since Halloween will fall on a Monday this year and Disneyland tends to end its seasons on Sundays, I am not sure if they will extend the season through November 6th.

I completely forgot about Space Mountain - sorry. I must be blocking it out because I did it once and after that, just don't give that overlay the time of day... :rolleyes1

I'm looking on the other end of this question. I'm going to be in Anaheim Jan 12-16th, and want to spend a little time in DL, but it's a "requirement" that HM be open when I go. It looks like the current schedule is for HM to be closed until the 13th for removal of the holiday overlay. Does anyone know if DL is pretty accurate about their scheduling, and would it be safe to think the attraction will be open on the 14th? I have to pre-buy my tickets by Jan 11th (discount convention pricing).

Thanks!
