Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend September 4-6, 2015 10th Anniversary

Well, after ages of trying to figure out what my password was because of the change on the boards, I can finally log in again.

I did have to decide to pass on the Disneyland this year. I just didn't have the $$ if I still wanted to head to WDW for Wine & Dine at the end of the year. I hope everyone that wanted to get in was able to register!

Me! I'm actually "running" a half here in town on the 14th, just to kind of wrap my mind around the distance.

I'm sad to see you won't be joining us for the DLH @Belle Ella, but hopefully we will see you at Wine & Dine!

Have fun with your run on the 14th! I remember trying to wrap my mind around the distance for my first. Then it was such a blast to actually run. Hope it's a good one for you.

I will definitely still be around for the Disneyland half, just not running. Once again, I'm hoping I'll get the opportunity to work some of the weekend events.

Oh, you're not running! But yay for W&D! My fave course in WDW, I really liked it. Oh and you HAVE to got to DHS and see the lights. They are so insane, I was there opening night and spent like 2 1/2 hours wandering around and looking for the hidden mickeys. When they turned on the lights, I was completely gobsmacked at it all, so pretty!

It's kind of breaking my heart that I won't be running this year, especially with it being the 10th anniversary. To be honest, I'm hoping to win a slot through a drawing at work. A girl can dream, right? But it came down to $$ after finding out I owe quite a bit for my taxes this year. But I'm making sure W&D happens no matter what.

There's definitely a lot I'll have to check out. I haven't been to WDW since I was a toddler, which doesn't really count. But it's going to be a relatively short trip. I make it longer when I go in 2017 for the full marathon/belated 30th birthday celebrations.

Can I ask a dumb question? During the race, are there PhotoPass photographers taking pictures or is it just MarathonFoto?

Trying to put a rough budget together to see if it's worth it to get PhotoPass+ for our race trip ...

Like the PP mentioned, it will just be MarathonFoto along the course. Are race photos the only reason you would want PP+? Think about attractions and any photos you may take in the parks as well. Especially once you have your race medals If those are photos you might want, especially with the pre-purchase, it's a pretty good deal.

But then again, you can get all those photos with any camera you bring anyway.

Yeah, I think I'm going to do it anyway. I forgot the DL PP+ is a tiny fraction of the cost of WDW's. We're doing all day Sunday and Monday in the parks with our medals, so that will be worth it alone. Hopefully we can get a good Christmas card photo and then it will pay for itself!

I haven't really stopped training since the 10k last year. Trying to improve my time and get a bit better fitness base to build on for the half. DH and I will probably do one last 10k at the end of April for a proof of time, then have a couple of weeks off before starting the Galloway program.

Keels, I love the DLR PP+ package - I think it's great value! Do one character meal and get a couple of ride photos and it's practically paid for itself

I had a terrible experience with MarathonFoto last year and don't particularly want to give them my business again this year. It's hard though when they're the only professional photographers on course. I may just wait and see what the photos come out like and decide then.

I have, and it's really easy. When you go downstairs at the expo to pick up your bub number, they have a booth. You just show your id and they'll give you your tickets. I always bring the email receipt just in case, but have never needed it.

I am curious from anyone who has participated in any of the runDisney events at Disneyland where they would recommend staying for the race weekend? I want something that is definitely in walking distance, ideally, not more than 10 mins away. I currently have reservations at the Howard Johnson, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, and could get reservations to the Ramada Plaza (not maingate), or either Best Western Plus Pavillions or Stovalls.
All suggestions are appreciated!!
