Apparently! I was trying to figure out where the heck my luck was coming from. I guess it was a balancing out act for my damper breaking two hours before the 10 miler starting.
2012 Disneyland Half remains, all these years of races later, a magical race for me. My time was 2 minutes slower than my first Disneyland Half a year earlier, but this time included photo stops with Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and Darth Vader and stormtroopers in Tomorrowland. And then I got my first Coast to Coast a few months later.
Huh. So I just noticed an interesting wording in RunDisneys comments section about the hiatus: Due to Construction impacts runDisney races at the Disneyland races at the resort will be placed on hiatus in 2026 after the conclusion of the 2026 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.
Excited to be registered for the half marathon! As Disneyland's runDisney events have shifted around the calendar year, it's more about the time of year (January/February) that holds a special place for me. Tinker Bell Half 2014 was my first Disneyland race and I ran most subsequent January race weekends (Tinkerbell and Star Wars) prior to the 'pause.' Coming back the last two years at the same time of year brings back all those MLK weekend memories (plus all the Disneyland Half September memories that correspond more with the race weekend theme). Glad the half marathon theme is "small world" which is fitting of the more general "Disneyland" race theme/name, the 70th anniversary of the park, and a nice farewell before another pause.
Got in for the 10k today! I logged in at just under 20 minutes until it opened to a 1 hour wait. I was doing so during a work training so I wasn't hopeful I'd get in! Yippee!! This is my 3rd RunDisney event, and all at DL!! I'm sooooo excited!!
Dummy me. Just realized the Dumbo is only 10k and half. If i would have realized that I would have also added the 5k. Oh well. I will keep my eye on it to see if the 5k opens up between now and then. Or maybe see if I can find a charity bib for the 5k. If not, I am happy to just be doing a DL run for the first time.
Q for anyone who did 2025: were there any good ticket deals this year, like there were last year? Thinking specifically about the Target/Tripadvisor one, think it ended up taking 20 percent off parkhoppers.
5K sold out just as I was clicking to pay. Managed to get the 10K for my friend and I just before it sold out. I'm now going to pray I'll be lucky enough to pick up the 5K for the both of us if the race ever opens back up again. Signed up for the Telegram notifications but I don't know if I'll manage to be fast enough.
Newbie here. How often does race open back up again. We managed to get 10K but 5K was sold out by the time we could register for it. Would like to add the 5K as well.

It’s not that often. You can look at the rundisalerts twitter to get a sense of how often it happens for other races, looks like the DL Halloween Half has popped up a few times. But it’s generally open for about two min. Just have to set up push notifications and be ready.
This being a unique race and the last time they’re doing it for who knows how long makes it tougher, I’ve already seen others ask about the 5k and they’re all getting the same advice.
Because it starts in the park, the DL 5K capacity is tiny for a Disney race. It is highly unlikely any spots will open. Typically when you see 10K and HM bibs pop up, it's because they've split up Challenge bibs. The 5K is also a stand-alone race.
