Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

Just finished up in the merch area. Still looking for the 10k medal pin with a ribbon and the DDD magnet. If anyone sees it or has an extra, let me know.

We aren’t there until Saturday, so I’m eagerly reading all these posts. Most of my packing is done, and we can’t wait to be there. Missing MW was causing serious FOMO. This is our first trip to DL, so we’re eager to get going!

Even if something is gone, hang around. So much restocking and things in wrong places. The ears were cute but so heavy, I couldn’t even walk without them falling off my head and I have a giant head 😂

I stayed in for over an hour and a half just because of people saying (and me seeing) that things do get restocked. The half medal pin and 10k medal pin never restocked 🫠. A CM made it a personal mission to try to locate them for me too. But no luck. It was heavily hinted at me they are attempting to stagger releases throughout the weekend, though, so they might only be sold out for the day of a few things. But they couldn't confirm. Just that they were sure they couldn't locate any more medal pins aside from the DDD (of which they had SO MANY and were bringing out even more).

They were also 100% sure on the Loungefly being sold out. And size small in a lot of the jackets.

So. Many. We're. Back. Shirts.

Also a lot of MK merch.

That said, I lucked out. Apparently I have enough good karma in the universe (and the extra help I got from a CM I think was because they saw me helping another runner because they even commented how nice it was of me) that another runner overhead me say the medal pins are for my panda stuffy because he's "running" too and she had a half medal pin she was deciding between with one of the other half pins. She came up and offered it to me and she'd choose the other one. I definitely cried and asked for a hug.

Now I'm just on the lookout for the 10k medal pin. But got 3 out 4 I wanted. I'll check expo tomorrow just in case. Not getting my hopes up, but it would be an amazing surprise.

Finally back at the hotel after going to the expo. Its was crazy. This is my first in person rundisney event, for the veterans did it feel very chaotic as opposed to wdw? as much as I would like to make rundisney a more consistent thing idk that I can deal with the races and expos if its that crazy and full of rude people. Between the expo and the walk back I am ready to lock myself in my room and not come out until tomorrow morning.

Do we know how many corrals are in the 10k? I‘m hoping I’m not in the last corral (I’m in E).

Just got back from the expo. Thanks you to @Novatrix for letting me tag along! It was so nice chatting with you. I looped through with her BG and then went back around with my original bg 37 to let some people in with my group. Everything was still there as far as I could tell.

I got B for the 5k and C/B for DDD. This was with a 2:06 half POT. Bring your masks or pump yourself with Vitamin C, whatever you're comfortable with! There's lots of coughing and lots of talk of people being sick. Not surprising with not only it being the season for that, but all the C2Cers with their immune systems being shot after the weekend.
Also c/b with a 2:09 proof of time. I went to runner relations to ask and she showed me the corral break down. 8-10 min miles are in corrals C D and E. Sounded like randomly assigned within those 3.

I hate to say it but the expos are always kind of is this crazy. In Orlando, things are a little bit more spread out, but still pretty chaotic on the first day.

If you're not needing specific merch and aren't doing the first race, you can skip that first day entirely. And even if you do need to go day one, usually things calm down after about 2pm.

The after 2pm rule does not apply to Disneyland though... still virtual queue is up right now... and my mom is still waiting to get in.

It worries me a bit for tomorrow since we will get there around 2- maybe after hitting up the meet up! Still deciding but timing is a factor. I’m hoping a good amount of people went today, but I’m also expecting lines tomorrow- hopefully not too long…

Haven't caught up today yet. But whyyyyy doesn't DLR have the same security screening as WDW and nearly every other theme park in the country. Currently waiting in the longest security line I've ever seen.
IKR?! I warned some folks last week at WDW. Worst part is they also have zero no-bag lines so you're stuck no matter what.

Well my mom bought a Dumbo Dare medal pin... when I asked for Half marathon pin... so if anyone wants to pay the costs of it and meet me somewhere let me know. If u want to trade for a half pin let me know too :)

I love Disneyland immensely but man, their security screening process is [expletive deleted] horrific. Why they don't use the stuff that WDW (and even my local Six Flags!) uses, I have no idea. And I've been going to DL long enough to remember that they used to have a No Bags line!

I’m worried about this too haha! Someone said, was it here or FB, that runner relations told them the DTD security opens at 3:30. Then for the half and 10K I imagine there’s another security after the 15-20 min walk. I realllllllly don’t want to walk down katella and around. But i might- especially if the Grand DTD entrance isn’t open and they funnel us to the DLH side

So does that mean if we beat the 3:30 time we will not have to go through security? Or we have to wait till 3:30 to be able to walk through.
