You should be able to. Like I said road closures are not for pedestrians their for vehicles. I’ve been racing over 12 years 6 of those were at DL. Trust me. I would know

Saw this in a group thought I would share because it arguably gives a better idea of when they expect last runners to clear the course with the expect delays time windows

Eta: just interesting to note because this means their expecting more than a decent amount of runners behind the balloon people if they do go at 5:30 for the half or their expecting them to leave closer to 6 for the half and somewhere between 5:30 and 6 for the 10k.

Ohh I am going to keep an eye on my phone just in case... I would not mind doing to Disneyland hotel for free...

Yes, keep an eye out because at first I thought it strange when I called back to inquire why they called, they couldn't tell me, but when I spoke to the 2nd CM, she said that was because they have a list of people to call, and they just keep calling people until some accept the offer. Especially now with the 5 day hotel cancelation window approaching they may start to get more accurate numbers and need more people to switch over.

I sort of had the opposite experience. I booked DL Hotel back in February after race registration for just me, so booked a standard 1 king room. I called in March to add a 2nd person to the room and requested 2 queen beds. Then called a couple of weeks ago to add a 3rd name to the room. Was told that my room type didn't allow 3 people. Turns out they did not change my room to 2 queen beds. They told me the hotel was sold out due to RunDisney. Put me on hold, came back and said they found one room left that is a Premium View room for ~$100 more per night and that was my only option to add the 3rd person to the room, even though there were notes on the reservation from March that two beds were requested.
I'm pretty salty about paying $400 more! But, not sure if it's worth it to try to get them to honor the original price.

Yes I think for 400 I would at least try. Maybe ask for a supervisor or manager, not sure if Disney has special names for their bosses? At the PP I know the premium view is a really nice park view, to me worth 100 for one night but 4 is a lot. At the DL hotel I never stayed so not sure how nice the premium view is. The other thing is sometimes it's all in who you ask, maybe the first 2 people say now but the third time is the charm.

My first step was to spectate the marathon today rather than run it! (I only signed up for the first three races.) And instead of rushing home, I'm staying at WDW and working remote before heading west on Wednesday. Just taking it easy with some active recovery walking in the parks (but not overdoing it).

Characters- any predictions? im thinking they may stick with dogs and ducks/birds for the 5K and 10K? Then classic Disney/DL for the half? I have a pic of me as a kid with a three little pig! Maybe all three? Can’t remember exactly- but that would be a fun one!

My must stops (unless the lines are long than my balloon lady lead) are Scrooge and Sebastian

Considering we’re going through Avengers Campus and GE I’ll be more surprised if we don’t see something Marvel and Star Wars related. Theme tends to dictate who we might see more of. But if memory serves me correct it can be kind of a grab bag assortment of characters. Like you’ll see some that fit the theme but not always

10k 40s-60s
Half (er 7.1 or 8k depending on how far back you started) 70s-90s
Full 00s-2020s

Saw the first of my friends posting about flying from Fl to Ca (and she flew in from the UK). Things are starting to feel really real.

(Like I know they were before but it’s really beginning to settle in)

I hadnt even thought of that but that’s a good point! We are DL regulars and forget the Marvel characters aren’t in Florida!

HERE'S THE Disneyland DISers doc, everyone! I did my best to replicate key info from the WDW MW one, knowing we have far less info for it. If I'm missing anything crucial, or you spot any mistakes, please let me know. I apologize the DISer lists are a bit small and hard to read. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix, lmk, otherwise just zoom in!

For the pre-race meetups, I'll have my bright yellow signs. I may even bring one to the 5K in case of an impromptu opportunity.
