Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

Did anyone manage to get Blue Bayou for January 12th? I was on the app & my computer right at 5:55am, refreshing constantly and it never even hinted at availability. :(

Got 2:50 on Friday at Traders Sam for the whole family this time! So excited I get to go into the Tiki room. I was trying for 5 pm but already sold out, 2:50 was the latest I could get ignoring all the stuff after 8pm since my son cannot go then.
I got as far as picking the time, but when I picked the time, I ended up getting an error message. So no go for me. Also, it's sort of annoying as a solo traveler that many of the places I decide to try *unusual for me to eat out at Disney) have availability for larger parties (table for 4, anyone?) but nothing for 1.

I'm also going to be there solo and would totally be up for joining a group for Trader Sam! My guess is they don't have a lot of single seating and don't want to give up a four-top for a single person.

I am going to try my luck for Napa Rose tomorrow. Would prioritize that over TS, but might try for that on Sunday. If all else fails, I think I'll try brunch at Lamplighter--the potato flautas and mimosa flight look enticing!
So much for my claim not to eat at Disney. But this is DL, so I'm giving myself a pass. Plus Napa Rose would make a nice 65th birthday celebration.

I usually travel solo. I have given up trying to make adr's for 1. I now make the original reservation for two, then change it to one later. Have never had a problem doing so. I do have a reservation for Friday, the 12th at 11:30 am. If anyone is interested in the extra seat let me know.

What day are you thinking? I’ll be solo Wed - Friday evening.

Has there been any discussion about a meetup outside pre-race mornings? Day, time or location? Is anyone interested? I haven’t been to Disneyland in forever so I don’t really know where/how would be the easiest for everyone.
Not much, although I'm sure there will be interest. I'd be up if I can make it in time, usually I end up getting there late though. 😵‍💫

Also need to figure out the logistics, but that'll come with the race guide. New start area, presumably new DL protocols, etc.

I have done this as well. Good suggestion!

I am free Thursday or Friday evening, or I'm open to going in an afternoon as well.

I think we should definitely try! Somewhere in Downtown Disney might be good, as it's central to everything and there are options for refreshments. There are also pool bars at DL Hotel and Grand Cali but not sure how large the seating areas are or what the weather may be doing.

I'll keep checking for an opening and grab whatever I can get if I see one. I'll be staying over at VDH so I could also try walk up if the allow that. So far I don't have park tickets for the weekdays so I'll have a lot of free time to sit around and wait. 😆

I agree with Downtown Disney!

Just switched my MCO-SNA flight from a 5:25pm departure to 11:15am going thru SLC which I'm excited about. I love when Delta makes changes to your itinerary and you're allowed to switch your flight for no cost. I was getting nervous about landing so late in CA and having to uber alone at night so arriving during the day eases that.

I’m up for it, and I agree with others that Downtown Disney is the best choice. Someone with more DL experience want to give us a recommendation of a place where they won’t mind a party of fluctuating and indeterminate number hanging out for a while?

I would be a little nervous flying into Utah in January. I'm sure that SLC has their snow protocols down, but I just get antsy.
I lived in SLC for 30 years, I'm a million miler on Delta and have left and arrived in all kinds of crazy snow there. They have things down! Not to say an issue somewhere else in the system can't cause a problem in SLC, but if it's just some snowy weather there, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. In fact, when the direct MCO-SNA flight went away, I rebooked my flight via SLC with a two hour layover so I can go grab dinner at one of my most-missed restaurants since we moved!

Seems like there is interest in a "HH"-type meetup, .ie., something Friday afternoon perhaps? We could just say 2 pm, location Downtown Disney TBD.

As for the other type of meetup: race mornings, hard to know where to do this yet, but I'm game in theory.

I'll keep checking for an opening and grab whatever I can get if I see one.
I would be in for any day Thursday-Sunday. I will also (obsessively) check and see if I can snag anything for 4 people--I expect that would be easy to fill with willing drinkers!

It's going to be super hard to determine a place for pre-race meetups with nobody having done this location for staging/start before. I can bring a sign similar to what we use at WDW and hope for the best for the 5K. Once we've seen it, I'm guessing we'll have a better idea for the subsequent races.

Not a huge expert on DD but I seem to recall Tortilla Joe's having a gigantic outdoor space. Just to toss something out there.

Sounds fabulous! I'm off site, but have an AP so I'll be around the parks most days and not too far away for a walk-up opportunity.

Fair enough! Years ago, I had a layover in Atlanta, and the weather went downhill really fast. The entire airport was pretty much shut down because they just didn't have the crew or the equipment to deal with the cold weather. I heard that they were bringing in ice cleaning crews from JFK to help down there.
