Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

Does anyone know if Disneyland ever resumed Capture Your Moment photo sessions at Disneyland? I’m assuming no since the latest I found was that it was ending but that was Jan 2023. I wanted to set something up with my C2C medals + a small family shoot. I would feel bad taking up a lot of time with a regular photopass CM with others waiting.

Bahh.... soo grumpy.... is everything going to be down while we are there.... I feel like everything is going shut down the week before we get.
(I know not everything but it feels like it)

Yeah, I wish they'd keep a couple things open just a week longer, until after the runDisney weekend (like World of Color and Small World Holiday).

I have a Disney World AP with the PhotoPass option, so I haven't been thinking much about photos for runDisney, but I just realized that most likely does me no good for this Disneyland event weekend. How much would photos usually cost, for all 3 race days? If I get a park ticket with Genie+, it looks like that includes photos, so would that also cover the race for that same day? Thanks!

Edit: I also see there's a $78 "Disney PhotoPass+ One Week" option, which I assume would work as well. Is that what people usually do?

One thing to remember is that using G+ for photos will limit you to only being able to get photos for a day you're tapping in to the parks. Which I'm guessing many plan to do, but it's good to note for those reading this that might forget that.

The PhotoPass One Week will cover 7 days from the day it's activated without having to go in the parks. I dunno what by the day costs since I have PhotoPass included with my MK and don't see the option.

G+ in advance is $30/day now. So if you need 3 days and aren't getting G+ to use G+, PhotoPass One Week is a better deal

I think it's a good bet that this will happen but I don't know that it's been confirmed, we’ll probably find out when the race guide is published. I'm not even sure race photos were tied into MDE last time they had a race there, think they had been using an outside vendor for race photos.

MDE is WDW only. We use the DLR app at Disneyland (I know it sounds like nitpicking, but it really matters when you consider the function of MDE versus the DLR app; MDE basically is representing you while DLR app is just a tool; this is probably why we can unlink MB+ from DLR accounts and link it to a different account, but WDW can't).

But we did have PhotoPass for race photos starting same year WDW did (2016; first implemented with Star Wars Dark Side 2016 and then all races on both coasts since then) and all the way until the last race weekend November 2017. Last outside vendor for photos at DLR races would have been Star Wars Light Side 2016.

Functions similar to MDE that you have a code to put in with your bib number.

2016 Light Side is actually exactly the one i remember lol, because I have a terrible watermarked photo with BB-8 from it. I was VERY excited that he was on the course yet not excited enough that I would pay for an unwatermarked version of the photo.

I'm still sad about my Dopey 2016 not having PhotoPass, but I was too cheap to pay for the outside vendor photos lol.

It's a good idea to remember that Disneyland has to cancel fireworks to to wind conditions at higher elevations far more often than Disney World, so keep that in mind.
FYI for those planning for the September races the Santa Ana winds tend to kick up that time of year. Keep this in mind for planning!

I just tried making dining reservations for Jan and the furthest out it's letting me see is January 10. Is Disneyland not date of check in + length of stay?

I don’t think so. I was able to get my park ticket ahead of time through a TA but I couldn’t start reserving the parks until we were 60 days out. For each individual day I’m there 🤷🏻‍♀️

I meant for dining reservations not park. But that’s interesting. I was able to book park reservations for the entire trip. I wonder why we had different experiences.

Nope. No length of stay at DLR. It's day by day for dining and park reservations.
Disneyland is so hard. 😂😵‍💫😂

If anyone is wanting Trader Sam's....it's been opening up and dropping earlier than the 6am pacific. It's open now on my app (more reliably) than my laptop. I saw this yesterday and today!
I've used the little hour glass to search Trader Sam's, then got in that way. Not sure if it makes a difference if you start with "make a dining reservation" or not.

If anyone is looking for hotels on Harbour....I'm shortly dropping my Best Western Park Place Inn reservations for two rooms from mid week thru race weekend. We are biting the bullet and staying at the Grand (god help my checkbook!)
Thanks! I just snagged one! I am the opposite- I’m at the Grand and may drop it now. Decisions!

If you are willing to post specifics (price) and try to work with someone on a transfer, that might be most helpful.

Got 1 reservation for traders Sam at 5:30pm for Thursday, yeah! My mom has a flight earlier than us since the rest of us have to work and she is retired. She is going to go shopping for us at the expo and then hit up trader Sam's. Man I miss wdw... where I could book everything esp since I am staying on site it would be a nice perk. Now I need to do this 3 more times.
