WAFDL: Having just gone to DL for the first time two weeks ago and ridden the rides from both parks with a keen eye for differences, the ones that stuck out to me were definitely Space Mountain, PotC, and It's a Small World. Both versions are better in DL IMO. I loved how Small World snuck Disney characters into each country's theming in different ways. I don't remember the version at WDW doing any of that, unless they changed that in the last few years.
The queue for MMRR is ADORABLE in DL. I rode it on literally the last day they had the virtual queue with zero wait, and spent a ton of time checking out the queue on the way to the trains. You will love it. And, Guardians at DL is amazing. It may have been my favorite park at DL period.
WAFDL: Well DLR is my home park and I haven't been to WDW since I was 9 (year of the infamous birthday cake castle ) so I'm not going to compare but I am looking forward to riding Holiday IASW. It's been years since I've been on the holiday version since I don't really go during the holidays.

Oh man, I have memories of that birthday cake castle (not sure I can define them as fond...). I'm so glad that they made the 50th anniversary castle pretty to my tastes.
Hi all! Just want to confirm - for all those that registered themselves AND other people - there's no way yet to transfer the other person's registration to their control yet, right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

We were able to transfer the other people off my registration. We emailed rundisney@disneysports.com and asked to unlink reservations and I listed the people who needed to be unlinked, which race they’re registered for and their email address

I had accidentally registered two yoga sessions under my DW's name, though one had, otherwise, had my DD's information. I emailed runDisney, and they changed the name of the second one to my daughter, and then went ahead and unlinked it so she could claim it.

First timer for runDisney....I haven't even thought about transfering my husband's race into his own account yet. Do you think I should do this sooner rather than later?

I don’t know if it matters. I just unlinked the other people on my account because they’re friends, not my immediate family, and I wanted to make sure they could order merchandise or access whatever info they needed through RunDisney.

There's usually reminders to do this as the date gets closer. The main thing rD wants is to make sure everyone signs their waivers before race day, to make things go smoother. If it doesn't happen, it's fine, they'll have paper waivers at the expo to sign.
Like when I tried to transfer my DW's race registration for MW to her, something went wrong, and she never got the transfer email, and I lost her registration on my end. So it went into some temporary abyss. They fixed it when we got there.

I'm on a really wacked out sleeping schedule tonight, as I got up Monday at 7 pm, and I haven't been to sleep, since. YAY sleep dep! I think the conversion to DST really knocked me for a loop! So I'm posting it tonight, though it's not yet Wednesday in the entire country, but close enough!
WAFDL: When touring the parks on a race weekend, do you purchase G+ or ILL, or are you totally standby? What have you done in WDW, if you've been there, and what do you plan at DL?
As for me, I'm a mix of pay-to-play and DAS. I worked in queue theory in one of my last jobs, and I worked some of what I learned into not standing in line at Disney. I just want to get to my rides, and get out, so I can eat and sleep. Since there are many more rides, especially in Disneyland Park, that don't have G+/ILL, it's only a standby line, the math will get a little more complicated.
WAFDL: I never have purchased G+ or ILL. It still galls me that they have gone this route on top of egregious pricing. For me, it's back to old school--get to a park early, prioritize the must-do's and deal with the rest. Since I am usually doing these trips alone, it works out okay.

I have purchased the occasional ILL depending on my plans and what I want to do. I am not a fan of G+ overall tho. That said, I likely will buy it in Disneyland because it will be my first time and I want to do all the things.
WafDL: Genie+/ILL
Since Genie+/ILL launched in late 2021, I've only been to EPCOT for one (unexpected) day and we did not pay for Genie+/ILL. We missed Rope Drop and we still were able to do every ride except for Frozen, including time for a sit down character meal and two shows. (This was just weeks before Guardians was open.)
In the previous iteration of "paid Fast Passes," MaxPass - we never purchased, just used the free version and have always felt successful in our vacations.
For January 2024 in DL we will buy Genie+ for a few reasons:
1. because it includes PhotoPass which I want for race photos. (I think the last time I had PhotoPass was 2015.)
2. because with the Expo and some unknowns of never doing runDisney before, I think we might miss some rope drops and I just feel like we'll need some "help" fitting everything in. DH feels like this is a vacation with a side of running and I feel like this is a race with a side of vacation! Ha!
3. because I'm leaving one kid at home, might as well try out Genie+ when I only have to pay for 3 people instead of 4! (this is also why we are flying business class to get home.....only 3 tickets instead of 4!)
WAFDL: since the only thing that hurts me when running at Disney is my feet, I absolutely pay for G+ and $ILLs. I’m a solo traveler, so it isn’t as hard on the wallet for me as all of you that have family and friends who go with you. I see it as a good way to maximize my time and enjoyment of the parks, and minimize the stress on my feet. I’ll still wait in short standby lines, or even longer ones if it’s after the races.
I’m absolutely going to use G+ in DL, especially since it includes memory maker so I can get all my photos.
