Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

I'm very happy with the medals. I really like them updating the original Disneyland Half Marathon medal design to incorporate Mickey and Minnie into it.

I also like how the 10K included Carthay Circle Theatre to represent California Adventure.

Not that it matters, but here are my rankings:

1. Half Marathon
2. Dumbo
3. 5K
4. 10K
Nice eye for detail. I saw the castle on the 10K but not Carthay Circle Theater!

I just bought my park tickets and made park reservations for the runDisney weekend! party:

I had a ticket that I didn't get to use in April 2020, so I was hoping I could apply the value of that ticket to the new one over the phone, but no dice. I can still apply the value to a future ticket purchase, but it has to be done in person at a Disneyland ticket booth. This is in the fine print of my ticket email, but I called (nicely), wondering if they made any Covid-era exceptions.

They do not for tickets purchased in 2019, which is when I bought mine. I didn't want to wait until the day-of to buy my tickets due to the park reservations, so I bought them today even though buying my tickets so early in 2019 slightly bit me in this regard. When I'm there, I can buy a new ticket with the credit from 2019, and those tickets will be valid for a while. I guess I'll need to make another trip in 2024 or 2025.

I'm liking the medals! I'm starting my "official" race plan this weekend a 16 week plan so getting a little bit excited. I may have asked this before it's been so long since I have been on here I forgot, but I pre-purchased the race jacket, and I did receive an order confirmation email. But it has no barcode or anything like that. I won't be at the expo until Saturday so I know they will probably be sold out by then- Do they just put some aside for the pre-purchased orders and then when I go I just show the confirmation email and get it or will I receive some kind of voucher or does anyone know how that works?

Thanks

I'm 95% sure that once you bought it, it's yours, and they set aside one specifically for you. The ability to exchange it, though, if it doesn't fit might be difficult.

They'll have one held for you in the back. You typically just go to a preorder merch desk, show your ID and they bring it out to you. You don't have to worry about them selling it out from under you.

I'm starting training on Monday using the 16 week Half Marathon Intermediate plan (5 runs/week) from the Garmin Connect website.
I'd love to hear if anyone else is using that same plan.

The Garmin intermediate plan seems to be....
2 easy runs per week, maximum of 40 minutes
Interval or threshold run
Hills or Fartleks
Long run, maximum of 2 hours I think.

Also good news for us staying in official Disney hotels. They announced a little bit ago that they were going to only one park will have early magic hours. Which sucks for us staying in Disney hotels. Anyways that policy will not start till Jan 20th after the race, yeah!! This will be important to my son and husband who will hit up those early mornings while I am running.

We have our tickets too! It seems like Disneyland's longest ticket is 5 days, but we'll be there for 6. We're coming in Wednesday evening and leaving Monday afternoon. I'm trying to figure out which day can we effectively not go into a park? Hmmmmm.
My grandma and I are arriving Wednesday midday and leaving Tuesday morning, and we’re using our last full day to go to Knott’s Berry Farm

Hello -
So today I received an email from Run Disney that if I want to be considered for a proof of time for the Half- that the race result proof needs to be submitted by Oct 3. When I registered in Feb I submitted it back then, and when I checked my registration today it still shows up there. Just curious if anyone else submitted a proof of time for the half marathon and also received an email today?

Trying to figure out of it was just a generic email to everyone in the half, or if I got one because they don't have my proof of time on file. I emailed them so should hear back by Oct. 3, but in the meantime just curious since I know there will be 1000s of runners, and I am hoping to finish close to the front- so that proof of time will really help to get a better starting corral.

Thanks

They send that out to everyone as a reminder
