Cheryl, I am thinking of your mom and praying for a speedy recovery.

Steph, You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Hugs to both of you!!

Steph - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I went earlier this week and had my annual, and the doc wants me to start thinking about getting a mammo. I was like OMG. Very scary.

Cheryl, hopefully your mom has an easy and quick recovery; well, as quick as it can be.

Steph, thanks for sharing with us. I think a lot of us made connections while we were together. I've had to go through extra mammos before, because I'm "cysty" and then ultrasounds, and last year a breast MRI. Never had an MRI before so it kind of freaked me out. But it all came back okay, I'm just DENSE!! And cysty!! Can't wait to do that again this summer :headache:

LOL--I'm dense and cysty too! I actually had a lump removed from under my arm a few years ago and it was a lipoma (i.e., fatty tissue--ok, now there's a shock--LOL)

Steph--like I said before, we are all thinking of you.

By the way everyone, I talked to the nurse at the hospital and my Mom actually got up and sat in a chair today! Amazing woman sometimes. Her caregiver is going tomorrow (since it's up at UCLA) and then I will go Sat-Sun.

To Heather (Fairycat): You probably don't even remember doing this, but thanks for giving me your little plastic wine glass from the Food and Wine event. It is just the perfect size--I am having a little glass of wine to relax tonight (chardonnay--which I don't really like--but it was open--LOL) and it's the perfect size for me since I don't drink much at a time!

Oh my goodness.
I offer a big  to Cheryl and Steph.
I, too, had a biopsy after a lump last year. The whole thing was fairly tramatic but it all turned out just fine. Just like it will for you.:)

Great news Cheryl!! :goodvibes

Hi everybody.

Sorry I haven't been around much since we got back last week (goodness it's been a week already:guilty: ) I've had a pretty interesting week to say the least. So here's the synopsis of what's happened: Thursday morning I was doing my monthly self-examination and found a lump...needless to say I was a bit :scared1:. So I called the base clinic to schedule an appointment. They got me in that afternoon. My dr saw it immediately without have to feel for it, which made me more :scared1: . She got me a referral to get a breast ultrasound for the next day. So on Friday I went in for the ultrasound. The technician saw the one I was there for and found 2 additional ones that I didn't feel  . This all made for a very long weekend. Of course the radiologist wasn't there to see this so I had to wait until my regular got the results which was yesterday.
So I get another phone call from my doctor saying she wants me seen in the next 72 hours by a breast specialist. The good news is that I got the doctor my boss (a breast cancer survivor) recommended. The even better news was that they could see me today. So I saw him today. He wants a needle biopsy of all three lumps done as soon as possible as he wants to see me one week from today.
If you've made it this far, thanks for listening to me vent a bit.... I'm waiting for their office to call me with my appointment time for the biopsy as well as my follow-up visit with him next week. I'll let you all know when I know.
I am working on a trip report but I don't know how interesting it will be. Thanks again for listening. I really don't want to be a downer but I needed to get this out and besides my husband and MIL we haven't told anyone.

Oh Steph, I'm praying for you! I pray that it's nothing!

Good Morning!

Another drive-by posting. :rotfl:

We have an audit coming up at work and I have alot of paperwork to get ready!

Steph ~ I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You're in my prayers that every thing will be fine and not too stressful on you and your family.

Stephanie--

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Here's a little pixie dust for everything to turn out WELL. :wizard:

Take care,
Jen

Hi all,
Cheryl, glad to hear your mom is doing good and surgery went well. What a relief for you guys, I'm sure. And YAY on the WDW plans! How exciting.

Steph, hugs to you and I hope the tests come out clean and the waiting goes by quickly!

Hi ~

An outsider just popping in to send good wishes to Cheryl and Stephanie. :goodvibes

Hey everyone!!

I have been in hiatus, due to sewing for my DD's play, as some of you know.

I read back a little.

Steph- My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hopefully you will get a good report soon.
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Cheryl- I hope your Mom will be feeling and looking better day by day. My Sis had skin cancer too, and they had to burn quite a bit of it off. When I first saw her afterwards, I was in shock. It looks way better now. :goodvibes
But your Mom's sounds even more evasive.:sad2: I really hope it heals quickly. I will pray for her too.
And when are you going to WDW? How fun!!!! :yay:

Hi, good to see you. I hope the sewing is going well. And I hope we'll get to see a pic of all your hard work! At least take Sunday off. It's Mother's Day after all so you deserve a break! ;)

Speaking of which, I cannot believe it's this Sunday! Sure hope my mom's card makes it in time. :rolleyes1

Anyone have any special plans for Mother's Day?

I'm watching my niece tonight so my sister & her husband can go out for Mothers Day (he works on Mothers Day so they are celebrating early).

Tomorrow I'm taking my mom, sister and grandma to Benihana's for lunch and then we are all going shopping.

Then on Sunday, my family is having a Mother's Day / Birthday party at my other grandma's house. We have several May birthdays in my family so they are doing all the May celebrations at once ;) .

How about you??

Cheryl- And when are you going to WDW? How fun!!!! :yay:

We are scheduled to leave on Halloween on a red eye flight, arriving 11/1--and leave in the evening of 11/8. It will be my first trip really--only have been to Florida in the 70's when there was just a Magic Kingdom (or part of one!) I'm taking my Mom (God willing) and we are using my Disney Vacation Club membership.

You gals will be famous now...your VIP tour was just included on the DIS Unplugged BLOG! :woohoo:
