You can tell me on Friday when we meet for dinner (with or without Ellen, I think we should still hook up). Sound good? Hope you sleep well tonight. This is what I see you doing. . . :faint:

Linda, bummer that you lost your tags and sponsor icon. :( Seems like a few people have accidentally done that lately when they were updating their profiles. Hope you get it fixed soon. Oh, and pour me a glass :drinking1 . . . I'm so bored I'm reading Lost blogs. :rolleyes1

Hi Cheryl! Hope you have a graet time in LA and that your ex gets back in touch with you so you have someone to hang out with tomorrow night.

Ok, they're starting to clean the carpets in my office (like shampooing them), so I may just get to leave early. :dance3:

Yes, the ex just called so we're on for tomorrow night--I'll spend the afternoon with Mom at the hospital and then meet up with him for dinner, maybe a movie.

Hope you get to go home early!

Mmmmmm, carbs. :cloud9: Pass some over. Now just have Linda share some wine with us and we'd be all set!

Speaking of wine, I found myself some of that Gnarly Vine Zin that we had at the wine tasting. I bought 2 bottles.

So do you and your dh have your own catering business? What kind of food do you specialize in?

A nice glass of wine would be heaven right now! Why didn't I think of that? We have not even had a chance to look for the Gnarly yet. We've been pretty steadily busy since we got home, which is a very good thing.

I'm actually a Personal Chef, so what I do is go into people's homes and prepare meals that they can reheat throughout the week. It's customized to what each client wants, so every job is different.

Now, that's what I'm supposed to be doing, but it seems the majority of my jobs have been catering lately, which I also enjoy. It's just different.

Oh, and I'm also starting to sell a line of candy to some wine shops and a local candy store. So I'm pretty busy right now. I have to pay for my drug habit (I mean Disney habit) some way!:rotfl:

I know it must be a lot of hard work but it also sounds like FUN! And does your husband help you? I would love to have a creative outlet to cook. What kind of candy are you making?

I just had to go pour a mini-glass of chardonnay in honor of Linda . . . .

Peee-ewww! They just shampooed in here. Cough, gag, cough. I'm heading home now before my eyes start watering from this horrible chemical smell.

Catch y'all later!

Oh wow BillyFan, that sounds like quite the awesome career. But a lot of work, too. I only wish I could hire someone like you. I cook most meals, but a lot are from prepared mixes or just simply grilled meat (chicken, beef, pork) and oven baked potatoes, bagged salads or frozen veggies. Tough, I know.:sad2: My family thinks I am a great cook, but I am all they know and quite frankly, I am mediocre. But alas, I do cook and so many young people today to not really cook at all, so I am not ashamed.:cutie:

Hi Beth, Stacie and Cheryl:wave:
Cheryl, I do not blame you one bit for staying over. I personally hate to drive and would opt to stay as well. Enjoy the wine!

See ya Callie!

Cheryl--Right now we are just making English Toffee, but we hope to expand that soon.

I am having so much fun, but it's somehow more tiring that the daycare I've been running in my home for the last 14 or so years! I'm not sure how my hobby-turned new career could be more exhausting than having 14 kids in my house all day, but it is! I love it though, so it's totally worth it.

My husband is working with me too. He did the daycare with me for about 10 years, then decided to try real estate, which was good for a while but then totally bottomed out in CA. So now he's doing sales and marketing for me, doing deliveries and is head potato peeler.

I'm sure you're a fine cook! You know, I'm finding that people really just want basic tastey home made food. I am not a gourmet chef by any means, but I have tons of recipes for really yummy comforting foods. I can't tell you how many meat loaves I made last month! But that's what people want: Meat loaf, spaghetti and meatballs, grilled chicken, soups, etc. I think people in general are getting sick of McD's or cereal or frozen pizza for dinner every night.

You know, I certainly hope our nation grows tired of fast food. Most of it is so bad for you and so very fattening.:sad2: That is funny that the most requested dishes are comfort foods and homey type meals. Although I have to admit, homemade soups are my favorite meals, ever. And you did childcare previously? Man, I could never have the patience for that. Kudos to you. ;)

I've been very lucky to have two careers in my life, and enjoy both of them! (I sound like th oldest 36 year old ever!) I have been tapering off the daycare, and by the end of Summer, I will be completely done with it. It's so sad to think about because I love these kids that I have been taking care of for 10 or 11 hours a day for their entire lives! :grouphug: I have 12 and 13 year olds who come back every summer and school vacation. I've been training them to be the best babysitters ever, so I can leave my job in good conscience and begin a new journey.

What a wonderful story.:)
And just for the record, I love the Billy Show, too. I relax and laugh every time I see them.

Love it! When we are done with the crowds, we grab a snack and play cards in the Horseshoe. Even if we have to wait an hour for the next show, it's one of the best times of our day. Total nerds!!!!!!

I just noticed your siggie, what is going on at Saddleback College? I went there in 1979-1980 after graduating from San Clemente High School in 1978. I am aging myself, I know, but don't see references to my alma mater (be it a Community College, I don't care) very often. Is your friend performing there?

Kirk Wall (also known as MY boyfriend) is performing at Saddleback College. Tina is lucky that she gets to see Kirk perform outside of the Shoe. Now, that's a real Billyfan for ya! ;)

BTW, I'm home now and dh is watching Alien vs. Predator, so I'm on the laptop avoiding the general area of where his ManMovie is playing.

Ohhh, Kirk, the boyfriend, I get it!!! Geesh. And yes, she is a true fan.

I would be up for that show, too. And I would avoid the show your DH is watching. My DH is fast asleep. He is one of those "go to bed at 9, up by 5" people.

Callie thinks he's her boyfriend, but she's so wrong!!! I think Kirk took vacation when we were there last month so we wouldn't cause a scene fighting over him from the front row! All that screaming and hair pulling can be so embarrassing!

Hey gals! It's Friday night and it's painfully quiet around here. Are y'all out on dates or somethin? :confused3

I'm at work until at least 10 pm. Just wonderin what everyone's doing tonight?
Dates??? :lmao: I can't remember the last time a Friday night equaled date night.

Looks like I missed out on the chatter here though!

I am here and bored, too.:upsidedow
I am so bummed because I deleted my tags and lost my sponsorship icon as well. I posted on the tech help board with no replies in three days. :sad1: Maybe MaryJo can help me retrieve my icon? I really liked it and was proud that I paid (in appreciation) to help keep the DizBoards going. Anyway, I hope you are having a great night. I just poured my second glass of Chardonnay.;)
Oh man, that sucks. I'm sorry you lost all that. I'm sure they'll help you get it back though.

I'm just checkin' out the Dis and then will probably go to bed early so I can go to work first tomorrow before going to L.A. (Such an exciting life, right?)
Actually yes! LOL Well, busy anyway. Sounds like you have a lot going on!!

Are you guys meeting up? That's so cool! Have fun! :)

I'm here but I too am tired and bored. I have no plans for the weekend. I love dh but he hasn't done a whole lot over the last 7 Mother's Days so I'm not really expecting anything :sad2: Selena (oldest) made me a present at school can hardly wait to give it to me.

Happy Mothers Day (in advance) to you all!!!

steph
Ah men, what can you do? That's so cute about the present made at school. My twins each came home with something they were excited to give me as well. But I told them they had to wait until Sunday. ;)

A personal Chef? That is so cool. How fun. You mean if I hired you we'd get to eat more then peanut butter and jelly?? :rotfl2:

I really do need someone like you. I hate to cook. And I refuse to handle raw meat. :scared: Won't do it. Never have, never will. So when I "cook" I do all the sides, then I have to go and buy the meat already cooked, like a rotisserie chicken from Costco or something.

That's really great about the daycare business you had too. I always thought I'd like to do a home based day care, but after having four kids of my own, I'm not so sure anymore. :rotfl:

He is one of those "go to bed at 9, up by 5" people.
My son is like that. I swear he's the oldest 13 year old I know. :confused3
Around 8:30 or 9 he'll come in and say he's going to bed. Then he sets his alarm for around 5 every morning! The bus doesn't come until 7:20 but he's a total morning person.
He wakes me up instead of the other way around. Gets himself up, fed and dressed. 13 going on 45, I tell ya!

I can see that if we ever get Callie and Tina at the same Billy Hill show and Kirk is actually there that a few of us are going to have to sit in between them to keep the peace . . . . God help us if he calls one up on stage. . . .

Pretty quiet around here! Everyone must be getting ready for Mother's Day . . . or busy running errands. I'm getting a little organized at work (and cheating by coming on here) and then heading up to L.A. I talked to the nurse a few minutes ago and she said my Mom is doing great! I tried to talk to her on the phone, but she had taken a walk this morning and promptly came back and fell asleep! LOL Oh, well, will see her in a few hours.

Then I get to have dinner with the ex-BF. He's such an interesting fellow--not all I'm sure what you girls would expect me to date . . . . very brilliant--he was President of L.A. Mensa for four or five years. Very eccentric (long hair and custom-made suits--always black). Heather-you've probably seen him and not known it at some Renaissance Faire events--he has quite an elaborate costume. (I was never into it.) It was also fun dating him because he's a member (or at least he was when he lived in Hollywood) of the Magic Castle--and it was so special to go and watch the magic shows and have dinner there. We went one Halloween and the costumes were incredible. He also is a big gambler so trips to Las Vegas were fun too because he was always getting comped.

Now he's "just" my CPA and a friend . . . . and probably soon becoming a client of sorts as he is starting a new business with some other people and they are renting an office space and need my help.

The current BF is so different--more a "normal" male--into football and other sports--whereas the Ex had no interest in sports whatsoever. And since I love watching sports the current one is more my style. (Plus the ex keeps really weird hours--he gets up at 11 a.m. and works until 2 or 3 a.m.--I was always exhausted because I'm a morning person and nodding off at 9 p.m.!)

So that's my day--for all you Moms--hope tomorrow is a great day and enjoy your day with your kids!

:cutie:

Consider yourself lucky with that child, Beth. :thumbsup2
They say the "early to bed, early to rise" crowd are overall much healthier than night owls (don't know why?). Or people like me who know I should go to bed because it is time and I will be so tired in the morning, but I stay up anyway. Bad Linda. Plus, I refer to most of todays youth as the "sleeping generation". I mean these kids (teens) can sleep, sleep, sleep. All day, all night, all the time.:sad2:
We never slept that much, did we?
