Well, I put my entry in so between the 2 of us, maybe we'll get to go!!! I've been feeling sorry for myself not being able to go in June, and thinking I could really do it!! But my dad is having some pretty bad health problems and I talked to my brothers tonight and he's basically out of it, completely. He's been an alcoholic for 50+ years, not that he'll admit it, and it's caught up to him and now he's been diagnosed with alcohol dementia. My grandma had Alzheimer's so I'm guessing it's that as well. He's only 74, which is the worst thing. I guess he didn't recognize my brother and SIL today. We already have plans to go back at the end of June for 2 weeks so I'm hoping nothing serious happens that I need to be there before that.

Stacy--I am so sorry you and your family are going through this--my thoughts are with you during this time. It's so funny--all of my friends and I are having "parent" issues--be it health, mental capacity, what have you. Seems we hit our 40's and 50's and the shoe is now on the other foot.

My best friend's Mom is having dementia issues too and disappeared for three or four hours the other night. They finally found her--she had taken the car and taken off and then got lost. It is really sad.

I hope things work out ok with your Dad.

That is hard. Scary too. :sad2:

BTW, hello ladies! Hope everyone is having a good day today. :)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: .

I'll probably arrive fairly early in the day.

As far as dinner, I'm open for anything. I'm not too picky. But I'll throw out some places for everyone to think about:

Disneyland: Cafe Orleans (The food has always been good whenever I've eaten there)

DCA: Wine Country Trattoria (I've only eaten there once and it was good but not great).

Grand Californian: Storytellers Cafe (I've eaten here a few times and it's always been good).

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I'm quoting you again. ;) I've checked out the menus for those 3 places. They all sound good.

Storyteller's Cafe seems like it has the widest range of menu items. But Cafe Orleans and Wine Country Trattoria are both in the parks.

Hmmmmm....:scratchin

Well, we need to make a choice so we can make a reservation.

I'll go first and say my top two choices would be:
1. Cafe Orleans (never been here, but always wanted to try it)
2. Wine Country Trattoria (never been here either, but menu sounds good)

Next.....popcorn::

Just to be contrary ...:goodvibes
I'd like: Wine Country Trattoria
Cafe Orleans
Story Tellers Cafe.

And I promise if I write a quest and you think it's too hot - no hard feelings, we don't need to try it.:flower3: Thank goodness it's not this weekend - temps are supposed to get into the upper 90's and 100's. Deja vu! And of course, I'm headed for Vegas. Like that will be any cooler! :scared:

I'm with Chris--I would prefer Wine Country Trattoria (just because I've never been there!) But the other two are fine with me too.

Chris--have fun in Vegas! Stay cool! (Actually watch--there will be a freak rainstorm on June 7th . . . . . )

90's and 100's????? I'm really getting nervous for my June SoCal vacation. I am not a happy camper when it's hot. That June gloom better kick in!! :rotfl:

So you're headed here this week-end huh? Well, today would be a nice day to be there. Only a high in the 70's! In fact, there's a cool breeze right now.
By Sunday we are supposed to be up close to 100. :scared:

I knew I should have moved to Alaska instead........:rotfl2:

Oh, and Wine Country Trattoria would be fine with me too. Either one really, they both sounded good and I've never been to either.
We need some tie breakers to come in so we can book this already!! :rotfl2: Or I'll have to flip a coin......:rolleyes1

Hey Cheryl, I didn't see you sneak in there! So shall I change my first choice to Wine County Trattoria too and we'll just choose for the others.....:rolleyes1 ;) :rotfl:

These two items sound especially good to me:

Chicken Panini - Pressed sandwich of seasoned chicken breast with arugula, roasted red bell pepper, and Provolone cheese served on grilled focaccia with a pesto garlic mayonnaise on the side. $10.29

Chicken Alfredo Lasagna - Layers of tender pasta, citrus marinated chicken, spinach and Italian cheeses with a creamy Alfredo sauce $12.79

I wouldn't mind if it rained! :yay: I'm in the minority of most people in that I love the rain. :) Maybe because I miss it since we only get a few drops here.

Yum--those do sound good--actually I would prefer a little rain to 102 degrees (been there, done that!)

I think maybe we wait until tomorrow to let a couple of other people weigh in and then we go for it and make a reservation!

Oh, I know. I was just teasing. ;)

I wish it would hurry up and be June already so I can start packing for our trip.
Then again, once June hits, the kids will be out of school and I'll be faced with the daunting challenge of entertaining four kids all day, every day without the possibility of going outside since it will be too HOT!

Quiet around here today!

Well, the poll has closed, and the winning time frame is Late Feb/Early March.

I have started a new poll with the possible dates that would work within that time frame. So if you want to, please vote one more time so we can finally narrow it down to actual dates!!

I will add a link in the first post and in my sig. :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies!! I'm excited at the thought of having actual dates to look forward to again!! :yay:

I am so NOT a fan of hot weather. Unfortunately I am helping run a school's fund raiser all day Saturday without sade an an asphalt play ground. San Diego won't be 102, but it willbe HOT!!! UGH!!

Hey, did we ever get a final count of how many people participated in the Girl's meet? We did have quite an impressive show!!!

Hey Steph..how are things? Hanging in?

AMy

Hi Amy, I think there was around 30. Don't know exact numbers though. That is a good amount though!!

Hi Amy

I'm doing well, I guess. I got in with a specialist last week. He wants to do a needle biopsy of all three lumps. Of course my health insurance is taking it's time processing the referral so I'm waiting. I talked to the company today and they said it should be approved by Thursday at the earliest.... So I'm waiting. I'll update as soon I know something.

I appreciate everyone's good thoughts. :goodvibes

Hi Steph, thanks for updating us. I hope the insurance company doesn't drag it's feet too long. I'm sure you're ready to get on with this and get it over with. Waiting is never fun.

Hi Amy, I think it was actually 44 people in the end, some who may have been there only sporadically and then the die-hards! (there are 38 listed on the first page)

I hope your insurance processes quicker so you can get this over.:goodvibes

So for next time (if I even go) I'm definitely getting my friend to join me. It felt weird being the "young one" there. It's kinda hard to relate since I'm not a mom and/or an "adult" :lmao:I don't know exactly when I become an adult but I'm thinking when I turn 21!

 Wow, that's even more then I thought. (I just said 30 since that's how many are in the group pic.) That's great!! :cool1:

Remember to vote ladies! There are 3 choices, and also a 4th choice for those who can go anytime. Thanks. :flower3:

Steph: just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you this morning too and sending good thoughts!

Hi, ladies!

steph----I am still thinking and praying for the best and all turns out well.

I voted for the next trip dates--I may have to change my vote. Can I do that?:rotfl:

I hope you all are having a good day!
