disneyland for the 1st time ever?

As someone who loves WDW I have been curious about DL for a while but never had the time or money to make the trip out west. My gf has to go to a convention for work next year. We noticed that the convention center is very close to DL. so we figured while we were there anyway, we might as well check it out. my question is are there any websites that offer discounted tickets, or is it best to buy from the DL website?

There are some discounted sites,, but not many.... I use wildatwork.com currently running $30. cheaper than Disneys gate prices... but there is a service fee..even with the fee, its still worth it to us..
there is Costco travel.. aRes travel , but not by much..
you can get a teachers discount ,military discounts if applicable.
sometimes your local credit union will have cheaper tickets.

The convention may have discounted tickets. Some people use way.com and there's a really popular one that escapes me at the moment, but someone will surely chime in.

Which convention? Many have public websites with convention special ticket prices that include "twilight" tickets. The terms are that they're for the use of convention goers and their friends/family. The tickets area also issued with specific valid dates

Here's an example of the website for the Star Wars Celebration event that's going on at the Anaheim Convention Center. They required that convention tickets be purchased online before the start of the convention, and the link went to a special purchase page on the Disney website. Other conventions may only sell convention special tickets at the convention. I've even heard that they will offer them to pretty much any kind of business meeting that takes place in Orange County, although it's up to the meeting organizer to coordinate them.
