Just realized I posted this on the Disney Families thread..when i should have posted it here!!!

so heres a repost so i can maximize all your great Disneyland Info..

Ok we have gone to WDW for the past 8 years...but were thinking of going to california for a visit instead this year....
obviously its a bit different...so how many days to we spend at a Disneyland resort and goto the two parks? also whats a good trip iterniary for first timers...San Diego?? Hollywood?? we really want to get the equivalent of our 7 day WDW vacation in califonria but not sure how to schedule it....

thanks for your help!!!!

Jason.

p.s. Also ill put a shameless plug out here too...my DD10 and I play VMK and we were going to get a Stitch collcection by booking online..but it looks like if we go were going through AAA ....so if anyone has booked a trip online and has one of these codes that they dont want ....my DD10 would love it!!!

First, go here to see Hydroguy's awesome article called Disneyland for WDW vets: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Most of us here would say 4-5 days at Disneyland. We do 7 at WDW too. As for other things to do, we only have done Disney and the beach so I'm not much help there, but you check out the other forum about fun things to do in California and I'm sure others will have suggestions.

I just went to DL for the first time, normally we go to WDW. It was wonderful to see the original park. I only also went to Universal Studio's and I have to say I wasn't impressed and would rather have spent the money on a nice meal. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed myself at Universal but it was soooo small with only a few rides.

We just got back and we spent about 4 days in the DL parks. It seemed just about right. You can do less if you like kamikaze style. We prefer to take breaks in the day at our hotel.

If you want a restful portion to your vacation, I would suggest San Diego. While there is lots to do there (san diego zoo, wildlife park, sea world, legoland), there are true resorts where you can unwind and have a beach vacation.

If you prefer to do more sightseeing, then Hollywood is good. You can always go to the beach in Santa Monica to get some beach time.

I'm not a big Universal fan either. But, then again, I used to work in Universal City years ago and had a view of the studios. There is only so many times that you can stand to watch fake explosions and resets from your office window before you get sick of a place.

we were planning on going at the end of april...so san diego was defintely in our plans....the question is whether is warm enough or not for the beach?
If Universal is nothing special we can pass on it..but we would like to do a Hollywood touristy thing...studio tour or something!!
