DD#1's Winter Break starts the day before our blackout dates in December. LOL So I was thinking we'd drive out Dec 30th, find something fun to do on NYE, since it's a blackout day and go to the parks on Jan 1-3 and come home on the 4th...

How to find a great hotel deal? Direct or thru a 3rd party vendor? Under $100/night with ammenities like free parking, free wifi, breakfast and walking distance to the parks...I know there's no ER available for Hojo.

We have annual passes (live in AZ) but usually stay with MIL about 10min away and drive over. We can't stay with her for awhile, so we've stayed at the Super 8 on Katella and we don't mind it, but would love a different experience. We are staying at the Red Lion this coming weekend, but MIL is paying for it. ;)

Thanks for any input! :lovestruc

This will be a little tricky. Try looking at Ramada Inn Maingate, but the rate might be closer to $120. I don't recall seeing a sub-$100 within walking distance that offers free wifi and breakfast, let alone one that would also have free parking. Even in the extreme off-season the rates I find are closer to $109. You could try to stay at Clarion or some of the hotels closer to the Toy Story lot...a little farther than I'd like to walk but you could get on the bus at the Toy Story lot and hitch a ride. They are cheaper than the closer Harbor hotels. Might be able to get some sub-$100's (after including parking) there.

It will be busy then so hard to find deals.

Don't rule out free parking as that will limit your choices. Just figure in the cost to the daily hotel rate.

I would look at;
Anahiem Plaza Inn (no breakfast though it has big fridges)
Quality Inn on Manchester
Del Sol(though it costs more usually)
Alpine Inn

Thanks! $125ish would be totally fine.

I will look into those hotels. Best thru THEIR sites or a 3rd party?

If you're going to stay for more than 5 days look into renting a vacation condo. They will include a kitchen and washing machine. You will save money on meals and could eat more healthy.

Compare. Try looking at Expedia, hotels.com and orbitz, fine a decent rate then the hotel too, call the hotel directly they may match or beat those rates.

You might also see if they have a facebook page that they post specials on. I know the Ramada Inn Maingate has one.
