Disneyland engagement photography on a budget?

Hello everyone!

I have been lurking here for a while, browsing through all the beautiful Disney wedding posts. Unfortunately, we can't afford a Disney wedding, but I would still like to have an engagement-style shoot at Disneyland.

I thought this might be the perfect place to ask whether anyone has done this sort of shoot before at Disneyland, what they prices were like, and whether anyone could give us some recommendations.

We're on a tight budget, with $1000, maybe $1500, to spend. Am I dreaming? Would it be possible to find someone for this much?

Congrats! I don't have any specific recommendations for youabout DL, but Im sure you can find something great with that budget! Have you looked at the Disney wedding blog? http://www.disneyweddingblog.com/

Disneyland allows outside photographers in the park for photo shoots during regular hours so you can hire a local photographer (who fits your budget) and take beautiful pictures! All you need is tickets to get into the park.

Generally you can hire a professional photographer for $300-$500 for an engagement shoot. I got lucky and asked a friend who is an amatuer photographer, and she took our pictures for us for just the price of her ticket. I have also talked with people who had someone take their pictures with a simple point-and-shoot and they came out great!

I'm surprised to hear that you can get an engagement shoot for $300 to $500, all the sites I've been led to ask at least $2.5K+. There is one in particular called BeautifulDayPhotography where their cheapest package is $6k!!! The photos are to die for, but ouch.

I think you may be looking at the prices for wedding packages. Most professional photographers will do just engagement pictures (or any type of lifestyle session) for much cheaper. However, some photographers will include an engagement session as part of their wedding photography package.

Sadly my friend doesn't work professionally but Lisa's idea of going through the Disney Wedding Blog will give you lots of great photographers you can contact. There are some really amazing Disneyland sessions on the blog.

Wow my team and I are good but we don't charge THAT much.*

My plan for our e-session will be to take our pictures ourselves (well kinda). Lol I'll bribe a fellow photog friend with a Mickey head ice-cream. Then I'll edit them up myself.

Beverly Hills Photography is my photographer and their engagement shoots are $250. If you buy a wedding package from them, their engagement shoots are free!

I found my photographer (Sarina Love Photography) through DFTW blog We are using her for a honeymoon shoot in DL and her session is $300. Hope that helps!
