Disneyland DVC Deluxe AP is it upgradeable?

I don't know ... but just to help shape the question, are you thinking to upgrade to the Disneyland Premium, WDW/DLR Premier, or another pass type?

FWIW, local (SoCal) wisdom says, "Blockout days exist for a reason. You really don't wanna visit on days! The crowds -- oy!! Why did we bother!?!" ;)

EDITED for additional disclosure: My DH and I hold the 'SoCal Annual Passport' which falls below both the Premium and Deluxe but above the SoCal Select. We have lots of blockout dates.

I was thinking of getting the discounted Deluxe AP but then I realize that one of the days we might be there is a block out day and it's DD's birthday!
So I can't imagine her not wanting to go in... :rotfl:
But I was thinking of just getting the Deluxe AP anyways and if DD does want to go I would upgrade it to the Premium... I am hoping that is allowed.

Oh, a key birthday is blocked. FWIW, I have been successful upgrading other types of Disneyland passes to my advantage such as upgrading a Costco SoCal 4-day pass into a SoCal AP. I'd guess they would offer you some meaningful path to accomplish your goal. You might also want to weigh the difference between the AP upgrade against 1-day-1-park passes? (Once upon a time, Disney passholders could purchase the single day passes at a discount to bridge blockout dates. I'm not sure if that is still done ...)

Thanks so much bwvbound!
I think the 1 day blocked tix is $84 now ... Whew a lot!

Are you planning to be in DL before 4/30/14? If so, you may do better with a PH which you then upgrade to the DAP on or after the blockout date.

Also, MS confirmed during an online chat with me today that the Disneyland DVC DAP can currently only be purchased in person at the Disneyland Park. The CM told me its a glitch but was not sure when it woudl be fixed. -- Suzanne

You can purchase a block out day pass for $84 per person available only on the date of the visit at the Disneyland ticket booth if you don't want or need to upgrade.

We have premium passes and love not having to worry about block out days plus the additional discounts we get are great. On busy days we take in the shows and use fast passes.

Ugh Yeah I've been telling them the link is broken and the GS lady said it's my browser issue :P I guess I'll just have to get it when we get there and use the $20 discount.

Oh and the DVC chat feature so far is 0/2.
I used them twice and whoever on the other side both times said "please contact the 800#. We have not heard about that error before."
Lol... So what's their job really?

I just called. The lady at MS first told me it can only be purchased at the tickets booths, but I insisted and then she got that I wasn't trying to buy the Premier AP (WDW+DLR) but the Disneyland Deluxe AP. Then she put me on hold to ask about the problem. Finally she told me the website is indeed broken and they are working on it: maybe two days until it's fixed.

Let's wait and hope it's fixed before the offer expires on 4/30.

I wonder if they think I was nuts or something.

Thank you!
