Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Keep up the great work Sarah and Cristabel! :thumbsup2 Mmmm, Snickers bar.

My exciting news for the day is that I'm back into a size 14! I'm so super happy, I can't remember the last time I was in that size. It's especially amazing because last month I was just fitting into a size 18. I'm so happy I found a diet plan that works for me and I can stick to it. Plus, it's like I just got 4 new pairs of jeans. :goodvibes

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Size 14! Drool! I wish...I am thrilled to be getting into a 20! I was up at a tight 26/28 in May. I once had clothes as small as a 12 believe it or not...they fit for about a week! ha Ha!

What are you doing girl?! I wanna know!
I just bought a pair of jeans from Kohl's for $9.60 on Sunday. They are a size 20W. I'm anywhere between a 20/22. I have close down to size 16 so I don't even have to buy new clothes as I get smaller :thumbsup2

I'm going to the gym tomorrow. It'll be the first time since...uh, I can't even remember! I'm going to weigh myself and I'm :scared1: but I NEED to know where I'm starting at so I can see the progress I make up until the trip. I've been a real slacker :sad2:

It can be hard to stay motivated...I know...so I make a new goal each week to help keep me on track...this week was to do an additional 10 minutes of moderate activity each day I work out....for me that means the gym but it could mean dancing, roller skating, you name it. This coming week I will try to do that again and my new goal is to not have any candy (ie. snickers, m & m's etc. Low point icecream is still ok). Hopefully I will be able to do it...it won't be a continued thing...just for the one week to prove to myself that I can do it.

Good luck Cristabel!

Great job my lady!

I know, right...it has gotten strangly quite over here the past week or so. I am doing well. I got all 5 work outs in this week with the additional 10 minutes of cardio during each...uffda! No gym for me tonight as I have a double at work or tomorrow as I have my ww meeting but I will be back in the gym on wednesday. My eating has been good and I really really really hope all this hard work pays off on the scale this week! I am 6.6 lbs heavier than I had anticipated being at this stage!

Have a great day Divas and don't forget to drink that water!

SarahMay

Great job on the cardio. :thumbsup2 I did 50 minutes today. Didn't go to the gym on the weekend but did ski on Sunday and that's got to count for something!

Wow! Seriously, that is great news!! I am so jealous. I can barely fit into an 18/20. I wouldn't even come close to a 16, let alone a 14. :worship:
I wish I could find a diet plan that worked for me. I can't seem to stick to anyone for very long. Are you doing WW? Or just your own plan?
Mind me asking what your weight is now? I'm just curious since we are so close in height. You can PM me if you'd rather. Thanks!

I am doing horribly. Really bad. Once I got my appetite back after being sick, I've just been going hog wild. :(
I stepped on the scale this morning and it wasn't pretty. I am back waaaaay UP there again. I really need to get back on track. Back to my food journal, back to exercise, and back to water. Or at least try. :sad2:

Anyway, just ignore my sour mood. I'm only down on myself for not being stronger and more disciplined.

Keep up the great work ladies!!!! I'm so proud of all of you, and I bet I won't recognize half of you when I see you next month!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2

You are doing an awesome job, you'll be back in those 12s in no time at all. :thumbsup2

I love cheap jeans! I absolutely detest spending anymore then $20 on jeans, and I doubt I have spent any more than that.

It's taken a lot of work to lose weight. I've seriously cut down my calories and stick to the same foods everyday and never eat more then a serving size, unless it's fruits or vegetables.

I'm going to the gym tomorrow. It'll be the first time since...uh, I can't even remember! I'm going to weigh myself and I'm :scared1: but I NEED to know where I'm starting at so I can see the progress I make up until the trip. I've been a real slacker :sad2:

Yay for going to the gym! Everyones got to start somewhere, and that's a wonderful place to start!

Motivation and willpower are the two things I'm working on right now. I'm really trying to teach my mind/body the difference between want and need; like I want those Nutter Butters, but I don't need them...so I don't eat them. :goodvibes

Big hugs, Beth. Try not to let yourself get down, you gotta keep positive. :goodvibes

I am on my own plan, I can't afford to pay for any of those plans and I'm no good at math, so I doubt counting points would work for me. :rolleyes1 I'm currently at 215 lbs. It could just be the brand of jeans that I'm wearing, you know how they all fit differently? I wear Old Navy jeans.

You're a beautiful woman, Beth, don't you forget that!

Have a happy and healthy day everyone!

Grrr!!! My weight is NOT BUDGING!!! If I was close to my goal weight I could kinda understand it, but I've still got ALL KINDS of extra baggage hanging around!! :headache: Scale hasn't moved at all in at least 5 days, and I've been eating right and getting my exercise almost every single day... Ugh ugh ugh!!! :furious:   :crazy2: :faint:

Okay, done venting :) I feel better now. I should know better than to weigh myself so often, anyway!

That is so frustrating! Are you drinking enough water?

Are you drinking enough water?

OMG, my boss swears I'm trying to drown myself from the inside, with all the water I'm drinking
I have a bottle that I reuse here at work, and I force myself to drink four of them a day, which ends up being about 96 ounces  I'm told that 100 oz a day is good so that's what I'm shootin' for, between that and the tea I drink.
I'll tell ya what tho; that stubborn scale is certainly inspiring me to push myself at the gym! :thumbsup2 I worked harder on the elliptical today than I've ever done before, it was awesome! I'm thinking, though, that I might change what I do for cardio; I *always* workout on the elliptical, I dunno if it's got me in a rut, or what... :confused3

I do it on my own to by trying to count calories. What is your calorie count per day? Do you find you ever get bored with sticking to the same foods? Like what's a sample menu for you?

Sorry for all the questions. I don't mean to be a pest, I'm just so frustrated and looking for any and all advice. :flower3:

215 is great!! I am back at 226. :guilty: My fault though. I've got to get serious again.

Beth, you CAN do this...we all struggle and through our lives we have periods where we do really well and others that we really flounder during...however, if we don't give up completely...if we keep trying...we can often make the damage during these times less damaging!

As for me, I am off to weigh in in a couple hours. This day is going so slowly and I am SOOO tired after my double last night! It's time's like these I wish I hadn't given up soda.

Don't worry Beth, you're not being a pest at all.

I feel I should add that just because I got my size 14 jeans on, doesn't mean they look good. :rotfl2: I still have a muffin top, but they are still comfortable, so I'm wearing them anyway!

Mon-Fri this is exactly what I eat:

Breakfast-
Slice of wheat toast w/cottage cheese on top
Small apple
Cup of coffee (black)

Snack-
Two handfuls of baby carrots
Two slices of snacker cut cheddar cheese

Lunch-
Small chicken salad, no dressing

My cheat-
Small square of caramel

Snack-
PB & J on a slice of wheat bread (I fold the slice in half)

Dinner-
Whatever my mom makes, but I pay close attention to serving size and don't got back for seconds.

Dessert-
If I want dessert, I have a cup of Dannon's Fit&Light strawberry yogurt and a banana.

Loads of water throughout the day.

If for some reason I feel like I'm starving and can't go on, I eat a large orange and if that doesn't do it, I eat a bunch of California Clementines.

I try to eat the same thing on the weekends too, but that doesn't always happen.

No way, no how do I count calories (again with the whole math thing).

For exercise, right now I'm power walking up and down hills for 15-30mins. I'm hoping to add more, but for now that's what I can fit into my schedule.

Remember, you've done it before and you CAN do it again.

Hey, hey, where my Divas at?

I hope this means that everyone is out there jogging and drinking their water.

The 4 birthday pounds I gained have been banished and they better not come back.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy day! :goodvibes

I knew the extra bday weight would drop right off! Great job!

Walked Jingles for about 30 minutes today.
:thumbsup2

I love my Old Navy Jeans. They often have specials, and you can get them for $15 or less.
And Nutter Butters? Love them!!! I just found 100 calorie packs of them at Safeway. They are just the cookie part without the filling. Totally hit the spot for me yesterday.

Keep up the great work, ladies! :cheer2: We can do it!!!

Looks great but just make sure you're getting ENOUGH calories into your system. :thumbsup2 Because if you don't (I know from experience) you'll be hungry, tired, irritable and your weight loss could be hindered because your body goes into starvation mode. I did a fruit flush and the first time I did it I felt fine but the 2nd time I tried it, about a month later, I had raging headaches and was biting people's heads off.

Today has been pretty great.
I got 9.5 hours of glorious sleep! Got up, showered and got dressed.

For breakfast

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 slices of whole grain bread (90 calories each)
  • 1 tbsp strawberry preserves
Lunch

  • Trader Joes chicken enchilada (~200 calories)
  • Ham & cheese sandwich (~250)
  • Coffee
Dinner

  • 1 c. mandarin orange chicken
  • 1/2 c. rice
Water - 2.5 :sad2: I really need to get better with this!

Gym tonight around 7 or 8pm

Beth & Darsa- have you tried cutting out wheat products? My friend started that 2 wks ago and has had a steady loss of weight.

However, for myself I am still on this crazy you must eat red meat and other items to ensure my body is producing RBCs instead of destroying them. So no wt loss for me, but not a gain either. Crappy thing is my body is still out of wack and my uterus still grows?! Shrugs....they might need to go back in.

Oh Deb:hug:

I went to my wi tonight and I lost 4 lbs! I get my 75 ticker! Woo Hoo!
