Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Bad night tonight. Not an all out binge, but definitely over ate. I am stressed about finances right now, and when I am stressed, I eat.

Darn. Well, tomorrow is another day. I'm going to keep at it.

I managed to stay on the wagon yesterday (even though we made cookies with ds) and I am doing well today (even with a group meal at work!) I feel a lot better about myself even though I had a HUGE gain at my meeting last night :scared1:. Hopefully I will be able to get it off this week!
Sarah

Sarah, you will. Great on the willpower even with temptations. I was told whenever I had a sugar craving to add a little more protein, btw.

Good!!!! I know, I think many of us are comfort eaters (like 99%). You're aware of it, and you're being accountable and that's good.

I try to sub some activity for stress reduction - like a fast computer game. Also, don't forget that exercise will allievate your mood - sooo important!!

So I'm feeling better (still sick but a lot better) so I'm going to keep my trainer appt tomorrow afternoon and just go easy. Probably no cardio, just weights.

Move your body - I saw Marissa Tomei do the hula hoop on tv the other day - a great workout.:cheer2:

Hey all, midway through day 3 and I am still on that wagon! I have plans for what I will have for dinner so I am set.

Glad to hear that some of us are feeling better. My back is getting better day by day but it is still pretty sore. Hopefully I will be back to normal within 20 days as that is when I go to disneyland!!!!! Can't wait!

Sarah

Why is it I can be perfect all day long, and then come evening, I lose all will power??? :sad2:

Good work, Sarah!!!! Yes, your back should be normal in three weeks. Just don't do anything that is hard on it. I avoid doing the incline on the treadmill because of my back.

I HEAR you!!!! Maybe someday the diet gurus will figure this out. It's a mystery. I have it too, lots of us do.

My nutritionist worked in snacks into the night for me. My problem is that I often stay up late. He had me eating a mini meal at 9PM to try to keep from too much late night snacking. It did help. But then bear in mind I was staying up until 1 AM, so it was still 4 hours before bedtime.

Anyway, diet cocoa always helps me in the night.

Day 4 is here and I am still on that wagon. I have a big party to go to tonight so I have planned lower point things than normal for the day and hopefully can be reasonably responsible tonight and focus more on social than on food.

Beth, I hear you! I can usually be great at work and then I get home and it is like a switch sometimes. Like backyardigans and the bad botts with the good and bad switch. Frustrating. Try to tape that switch to the good possition!

Sarah

Morning gals. Sorry I haven't been on this thread in so long. I figured what was the point. With everything going on with me it wasn't like I could actively do anything.

The only GOOD thing I can say though about being so darn sick is it is good for your weight loss. Between not being able to eat a whole lot and the fact that I am using a lot of my leg muscles to compensate for things I have almost lost ALL the weight I gained back.

I weighed myself this morning and I was 156 even. 1 more pound and I am back to where I started. For one thing I am being VERY careful with what eat because I don't want to worry about it on the other end (like digesting it etc) Mostly soft foods, baked chicken etc. Not too much red meat or anything spicy or too tough or hard to eat.

Plus I haven't had a huge appetite either. Don't know if it's the pain, the drugs or what.

But I can tell you when I get in so much pain that my whole body is just taught half the time I am sure it must burn some serious calories cuz there are nights when I lay in bed and I can't lay still. I hurt so much I toss and turn almost the entire night.

I know this isn't the desired way to lose and hopefully when I am well it all doesn't come piling back on but I am hoping that if and when I EVER feel human again I can start working out again and take it from there and continue to FINALLY lose those last 10 or so pounds I have been trying to lose FOREVER!

Good luck to all those on that endless wheel! I know it is a pain in the butt but if you are at least doing SOMETHING it is better than nothing!!

Donna, thanks for the diet cocoa tip.
Sarah, glad to hear you are still doing well.
Kelly, good to see you again!!

Well, I was down today. I weighed in on Monday and was 222, today I am down to 216. Good to be back in the teens. Of course today Ruben and I went out to lunch, but I'm not too worried. I have alloted Fridays as my cheat day, lol. I have to have one to help keep me on track the rest of the week.

Anyway, good luck to ya'll!! and have a great weekend.

Wow, what a drop! Awesome:thumbsup2 I'm too afraid to weigh myself and I don't have access to a scale. For now I'm focusing on eating healthy. Today I had my first grocery store trip and I bought a lot of veggies (lettuce, tomato, carrots, onions, bell peppers, garlic, spinach), turkey coldcuts, fruit(bananas and cantaloupe), and Chicken and 97% fat free Ground beef for dinner this week. I just need to not eat out because it wastes money and is bad for me. Now that I have to worry about the money aspect, I think I will lose weight faster. I just need to create a schedule to incorporate workouts. It's also a blessing that the campus is so spread out and parking is so horrible because it forces me to walk everywhere. Also, trips to Disneyland don't hurt much ;)

GO BETH!!!! That's the way!
I'm a big believer in shaking things up. One day a week - controlled of course - can work out and still the lbs fall off.

Good shopping! I remember when I was in a college apt - I would make the ground beef into thin thin patties and freeze them. You're handling the college life the right way.

I saw my trainer and he was thrilled that even being sick for most of the week I was able not to gain any weight. I was the same as last week (which was a new low then). We did a modified (read easier) workout but at least I had my body moving for over an hour.

Stay cool and be glad you don't live near a wildfire.

Congrats Beth on the loss and Donna for not gaining!!

And Cristabel you are def on the right track. The first key is to start eating healthy! Good for you!

Thanks everyone. Today's been a bad day. Lots of stress eating. We are thinking of buying a new car and everytime I think of a car payment, it makes me freak out. If I was a drinker, I'd have two drinks, one in each hand right about now!!! :sad2:

Anyway, Cristabel, great shopping choices!
Donna, congrats on maintaining.
Kelly, hang in there.
Jen and Sarah hope you are having a good weekend!

Later ladies!

Oh Beth, I'm like you. That kind of thing makes me nervous too. Have you guys thought about a car that's not brand new but almost new? The price drops a lot after it's been driven a year.

I'm really sick it turns out (according to my doc) and so I'm going to bed. I have to cancel my trainer for next week and I probably won't be exercising for a full week.... I'm just not going to worry about the weight.

Beth way to go on the loss!

It is day 6 for me and I am still on the wagon. I wi tuesday after work and I am really hoping to have the gain gone by then! I am working 16 hours today, 16 tomorrow and 8 tuesday and then going from work to the meeting so I really won't be home much which is good for me food wise.

Hope everyong has a great week! Get healthy and happy and don't forget the water!

Sarah

Donna: Hope you feel better soon! Don't worry about the exercise. I am SURE you will be back in the gym as soon as your body is healed. One thing at a time...

Beth: Congrats on the loss! :thumbsup2 Your body responds so well to healthy eating. You've really got to keep it up! Good luck with the car!

Sarah: Good job on getting back on track! That is so awesome. You turned it around and that is a serious accomplishment! :thumbsup2

Cristabel: Nice shopping. Good luck on the healthy living! :woohoo:

Kelly: Congrats on the weight loss, but not a diet plan I recommend. I hope you feel better soon. :wizard::wizard::wizard: Have you thought of plucking yourself out of your work and stress and just going to a spa for three weeks to heal? I'm not sure how one could pull it off, but I think it would be so good for you. Take it easy and take care of yourself. If you aren't healthy you can't help anyone else.

As for me, well, I didn't exercise much this week. I did a pilates class, a 2 mile run, weight works and today a 5 mile run. OK, I guess that's not so bad. I just took four days off doing nothing and then have been good since then. That 13 mile run last weekend just knocked me out for a couple days.

Next week is the race! Wow! I guess I'm ready for the marathon, as I've stuck more or less to my training plan. I am not, however, ready for Disneyland. I have a hotel reservation and that is it. I'm hoping for a couple DIS diva meets and some park time. Though the race is kind of changing my focus (don't want to walk around too much and hurt my feet or eat too much junk so I can't run). Plus, I'm just TOTALLY PREOCCUPIED with my move to Switzerland. DH got us an apartment (see www.grinold.blogspot.com for updates) and kids are set for school. It's just all the painting, moving and cleaning to do now. Alot to do before we can leave Sept 12!

I'm rambling here. Got to get back to work. :sad2:

Wow! Good luck with all that! You are moving to Switzerland in 2 weeks...that is just amazing! I hope it is everything you dream of and I hope that your marathon is fantastic! I wish I could be there to cheer you on!

TAG FAIRY! :rotfl2::lmao:

Thanks, Jen. Of course you're preoccupied with this big move. Is there a set time on your stay there?

I would be there at DL to cheer you on but every Labor Day weekend we are at a film festival. I will be checking online to see how you did!!

I thought your suggestion to Kelly was a great one. Even for a week.

Hey all! I have some good news! I had my wi at my meeting yesterday and I lost all the weight I gained last week plus 2.2 lbs which got me to the 40 pound mark! I am very excited! I have 2 weeks till my trip and I would love to be down another 5 by then, but we will see. I bought a new WW cookbook at my meeting and there look to be some great recipes! I can't wait to try some! We are having blt's tonight (with turkey bacon) and we are going to try a potato recipe from the new book tomorrow!

Hope everyone is having a great day...don't forget to drink your water!

Sarah-

I am so proud of you! :woohoo:
You turned it around and didn't let your small blip keep you from your goal! You deserve a pedicure or something special (new clothes for the FABULOUS new you???) YOU ROCK!!!!:thumbsup2

My week has been hectic. I haven't exercised yet this week as I have been swamped with packing, moving and trying to work full time. Oh and get my kids started with school. Plus I can't sleep because I have so many things I'm trying to keep track of. And did I mention it's miserably hot? I will try to get my behind out and run today in the muggy weather.

I haven't figured out when/how we are going down and back to Disneyland. My DH arranged to have us ship our car from Long Beach and needs to drop the car off Friday. So I may have to drive a separate car that we can drive back. I'm trying to figure out where to stay on the way down to Anaheim so we could leave Thursday night. Any ideas? I haven't even started packing or doing laundry for the trip. I am so overwhelmed. :headache: Going on vacation and doing the run isn't fitting into my schedule right now.:sad2:

I hope the fires and temperatures get better for the race this weekend. And I hope the fire gets better for everyone who lives down there (more importantly than the 1/2 marathon, of course)

I'm going to go drink some water.

WAY TO GO SARAH!!!! :yay::cheer2::banana:
This is fantastic. I needed to hear some good news like this. I've gained back 2 lb since being totally useless on house arrest. ;) Today was my first day out, just to the post office, and I was pretty tired. I wore my mask, it's smoky here.

I'm going to have a big glass of water right now and toast to you!

Are you shipping your car to Switzerland? I remember when I did that to Hawaii and everyone made fun of me. The cost is based on weight and I shipped my mother's old Datsun. :headache:

Is the train possible? (I have no idea)
You will figure this out - look at how you've trained like a pro!!
