Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

well...i was guessing I gained about 5 lbs on our vaca..so I was happy to see I had ONLY gained 3. Of course a tiny bit of my brain was *hoping* all that walking made up for my lapse in healthy eating...but Club 33, Blue Bayou, the corn dog, mickey bar, etc caught up with me.

So I got back on track last night and I am hoping to get closer to where I was by weigh in this Friday.

The good news is...we had a "biggest loser" contest at work and I weighed in right before our trip and today I found out I won!! Wooohoo! I am thinking the $400 can go towards the 5k labor day trip!! I need to check my work schedule tomorrow but it should be ok.

Beth....are you taking the fam? Or do you want to pull a road trip to DLR with me for a few days?? I'll drive.............and you know we'll make good time.....

Congrats on the win!!! Nice job!

Everybody does it differently. Food journaling is just one way, but it has worked for me. I saw my trainer today - he's a combo coach/nutritionist/trainer. We figured out that Thursday (at DL) I ate 1685 cal. On Fri it was a whopping 2875. (yikkes). But over the week since I saw him last, I had lost a pound.

So the walking was helping. I've had achillis tendonitis for months and the doctors didn't want me to walk on it. But I've been doing pretty well
so maybe I am healing.

Jen, I'm in the maybe group for the 5K. I will have to move/skip a conference, so it's still in the maybe category. I've never done anything like this before. Can you give us some idea of what it will be like? The website only talks about the 1/2 marathon. Is it all in the park? How many people usually walk it rather than run it?

Thanks. You are in inspiration.:cheer2:

I'm not looking. No way, and you can't make me.

Seriously, I have eaten a ton of that candy, and thank goodness, with the help of my boys, it is now gone!

I am trying to get back on track, but with being so behind on absolutely everything, I have not made it to the gym. I will though, by george!

Welcome to Donna and Molly. Great to see you over here.

Okay, on Friday, I will look.

So what's our program Sarge? Hey, maybe we should map out the race route, and then mark the bathrooms with a rating number, so we can strategize about which ones to use and when. Hmmm...Oh, sorry ladies, just a little project that Jen and I are working on:)

Anyhoo...welcome back Ladies. Tracey

I gained 4 delicious pounds while at Disneyland. Now it's time to get my bum moving and shed them off!

Welcome back Wendy Lady! I've signed you up for the 5k, but feel free to upgrade to the half marathon if you want more of a challenge! ;)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What an excellent $400 investment in yourself! You ROCK! I'm so excited that you won the contest! :worship:

I put you down as a yes, if you can get out of that conference. Train wisely so you can deal with your injury. No need to aggravate it with 6 months until the race.

Yeah! So glad you're coming on the 5k race. I will start with info on walking programs soon.

And bad news on the brilliant potty idea. MizPee.com already took it. :( Dratz! Let's keep the wheels spinning for our next biz venture. :thumbsup2

Hey, MizPee is not doing that great of a job. It is very broad, and needs more local real time info.

OK, I'm joining in.
Welcome Molly!!! This is such a great group. Very supportive and we have VinDisney to kick our butts as needed.

You can do it!!!

Beth....are you taking the fam? Or do you want to pull a road trip to DLR with me for a few days?? I'll drive.............and you know we'll make good time.....
:scared1: :rotfl2:
It would just be me, so if you are willing, I'd love to go that weekend with you.
Oh, and way to go on the contest!! That is awesome!! I might have to meet with that doc of yours and have her hook me up with some of those pills. :lmao:

I'm not looking. No way, and you can't make me.
:rotfl: I felt that way too, and then just took the plunge. You can do it. :)

Ok now I'm excited!

Not only did I make Hojo reservations for the marathon weekend, but also for Sept 10-14 (thinking about going to the D23 event and figured the entertainment rate was there soooo might as well hold the room!) and Oct 21-27 (so I can take the kids and be there for Beth's weekend birthday and our mini-meet!).

I may not keep all of the dates but that entertainment rate was too good to pass up, so I am thinking I will definitely go Labor Day weekend and for the Oct meet (might not stay for 7 days though) and I'll decide later about the Sept 10-14. Can't believe the ent rate was available for everything!!

So Beth....for Labor Day I reserved Friday the 4th through Monday the 7th. Figured I would leave early Friday morning, the 5k is Saturday, maybe come home Sunday but if possible, stay till Monday instead?? I went ahead and reserved Monday night because it was available at the ent rate and I figured it didn't hurt to have the option. What were you thinking??

Amy

Should I go ahead and register or do we need to do something to register as a group? Let me know.

Amy

Great question. Now I just registered myself last December, so I'm not sure if there's any possibility for group registration. Or there might be something we could do through Dream's Unlimited. Let me do a little digging to see what I can find.

I'm so glad Beth and you can be walking/driving buddies in LV! Make sure to schedule some weekend long walks together to train. :thumbsup2

BTW Vegas ladies, looks like I may be coming to town in a couple weeks - Mar 23-25 for a conference at the Rio. Any chance you all are free say Monday night? Probably doesn't work well with family obligations, but just thought I'd check...

Hi all! I wished I had found this thread earlier. I have lost a little over 20lb since a year ago, and I'd love to go another 20. But at this point, I'm just trying to get back down from the two pounds I've gained since our Diva trip.

I hope everyone comes back into this thread after you return because I need the support. How is everyone else doing?

Hey there Donna! Good to see you here! And congrats on 20 lbs! That is awesome!!

I was 158 yesterday and today I am ALREADY back to 156 just from getting back to my normal eating routine.

Anyway good luck to everyone and here's hoping we ALL see success now that we are back and can REALLY focus! :)

Wow! I wish I could say I've already dropped 2 since returning....but no such luck! WTG!

OK, I'm joining in.

Hey there Molly! Welcome!

Congrats on the win!!! Nice job!

Thanks!

Tracey you crack me up! Miss you already!!

Great! I'll wait to see what you hear. I don't mind registering myself. Just didn't know if we needed to be in a "group" or not.

And I'll check to see what I have at work the Monday you're in town. I'm sure I can clear my calendar and sweet talk the hubby into picking up the kids that night....I'll let you know!

OK Diva Wishers....hate to say it...but it's TIME TO GET MOVING AGAIN!!

For those of you feeling uninspired to exercises, I have a little video for you called "NO EXCUSES"

http://c25k.com/noexcuses.htm

I'm including two programs, since we are no longer starting from the couch.

First one is a couch to 5k walk/running program. If you have been exercising and don't have injuries, TRY IT.
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

And for those that are just getting started, here's the couch to 5k walking plan.
http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Kwalk.htm

Don't make me bring Vin Disney here to get you off your you know whats!

It's time to get the blood flowing and the calories burning. :woohoo: :woohoo::woohoo:

That sounds good but the only problem is, I'd have to wait and leave Friday after the twins are off in school. Ruben can probably get off early to pick them up, but I'd need to see them off. So that would mean leaving here around 8:30 a.m.

Then I could stay until Tuesday if Ruben can get Monday off and I was home on Tuesday before the kids get out of school, by 2:30.

Would that work for you? If so, let me know and I will talk to him about it. What room did you reserve? Building 1 or 2? I prefer Building 1, and would be willing to pay the $10 difference between the two. Let me know.

I can do a dinner or something on Monday! :yay: I can't meet up until Ruben gets home though, so it won't be until 6 or so, but if that works for everyone else, count me in!! :thumbsup2

Ya know, Chippendales is at the Rio. I'm just sayin.....:rolleyes1

I'm excited! Can't wait to see these. I will have some time later this afternoon and will take a look. I'm sore from lunges last Tuesday... gluts said, "What? You're making us work again?"
:lmao:

Can someone else look at the AP calendar and verify what I'm seeing? That the Deluxe APs are blocked out on the 5th and 6th?

That seriously increases the skills I'll need to convince the fam that I/we should do the 5K. :headache:

Unfortunately, I think that's right, Molly.

The rest of my family doesn't have APs right now, so I think we'll buy 2- day park hoppers and turn them into APs at the end of the trip. And I guess I'll just have to upgrade to a premium AP. Hmmm.... I haven't shared any of these details with the DH. Just signed him up for the 5k and the kids for the kid races.

:tiptoe:

Oh, Hi girls! I was hoping to sneak back on here without much notice.:lmao:

I'm going back to the gym today :thumbsup2 And I'm starting healthy eating (NOT a diet) tomorrow.

I want to lose 10lbs by March 31st.

That's probably the best idea.

Adults, teens, and tweens will enjoy a fun-filled and exciting 5K. Everyone in the family can be a part of this official DISNEYLAND® Half Marathon Weekend event.

Do you think they REALLY mean "everyone"? I have a feeling they would frown on having our then-5 year old doing the 5K...don'cha think? Or maybe they would just care if he (and therefore we) couldn't keep the pace? hmm.
