Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Morning all. For those of you who read my other thread you probably know I didn't get much sleep so I am on here for lack of something else to do at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. Lynn is staying at Shane's cousin because we thought it was best and also we knew we would get NO sleep if she stayed here because she would try to run again. But anyway I weighed myself again today and back to 154.8 so that is good. I am sure it is going to fluctuate all over the place. That is the problem with my scale but hopefully it stays around the 154 and goes DOWN from here on out instead of back up!

Yesterday I had my shredded wheat for breakfast and then for lunch at work I had soup and salad bar. Unfortunately the only lo cal option they had was a vinagrette that didn't look very good, really oily, and they had no lo cal ranch so I had to have the regular but I had just a small helping but I had chicken and lots of beans for protein and of course lots of veggies so I think it was pretty good. Then I did have a small bowl of potato soup which I know is carbs but I only ate a few bites. They didn't have their soups OUT and so I had to order it separate and the only soups they DID have were all creme options.

Then mom went and had to order a piece of apple pie but I just had a couple small bites. I wasn't going to get ANY but it came with her meal. Anyway then for dinner with everything that happened shane just ran and got pizza and I only had two small slices of cheese and then didn't even eat all of that.

I am sure all this stress is probably going to make me drop a few more but that is not the right way to do it. But anyway that is where I am at at least.

Today they are bringing her back over and I don't know WHAT's going to happen but we have to take our dog to the vet to get his shots no matter what and we HAVE to go to sam's club cuz we are completely out of groceries. NOT good timing but it has to happen. UGH.

Hope you guys are doing well! I am sure you are. See you later!

Hang in there Kelly. For me, what works when things seem out of control is remembering that I CAN control myself....focusing on weight loss and exercise is something completely within your control, and that may make the other crap seem a little less occupying.

Amy

OK....wnd of week one for me and I was beginning to think I was going to GAIN instead of lose. Things at work have been crazy, and I got off late just about every night which severely interfered with my plans for exercise. The economy is hitting healthcare in a big way. So many people are out of work here and can't pay their hospital bills. So although we have been CRAZY busy!! Our bad debt in Dec was 900,000. Not a good thing. So now we have to make cuts to stay afloat. They aren't cutting nursing (thank god) but have cut a lot of support services (housekeeping, security, transporters, etc) which just means nurses get to pick up that work too. It's going to be rough for a while.

Anyways, sorry for the rant. Needless to say I had struggles this week. My plan to drink water instead of diet pepsi failed, but I did add water, just drank it in addition to my diet pepsi. I tried to eat healthier and did for the most part but some emotional eating snuck in. And WHO THE HECK makes the decision to send those darn huge boxes of candy bars home for fundraisers....AAARRRRGGGHHH!

Soooo, I weighed yesterday and was down to 240.3. So a 2.7 lb weight loss for me. I'll take it. Every little bit counts. And I am hoping I can say 'buh-bye' to the 230's by Friday!!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Amy

you will find that weekends and late nights are the only time I get to post..lol.

Thinking of Beth and hoping the day at the dentist is going well.

For all...I wanted to share a site I stumbled upon that I am really liking. It is thedailyplate.com
You can track your foods (they have a huge library of foods loaded with nutritional info) on a dailt food journal which automatically calculates the food type, nutrition info and displays graphs etc. You can enter your daily calorie target (even calcute your BMR and a daily calorie goal if you want to) and track your weight loss on a graph. There are also articles, message boards etc but I haven't really played with those yet.

You just have to create a log in to have free access. They also (of course) have a "gold member" option which has a cost but the free way includes all I think I will need. This provides what I used to use as a weight watchers online member (doesn't use points but counts calories instead) so now I am going to try this instead of rejoining WW online.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I just ate one of my FAVORITE filling light meals...thomas hearty grains double fiber toasted english muffin with peanut butter. Then I mash a large banana and pile half on each english muffin half. Sooo yummy and filling!!

UMC is suffering too. It's bad right now. No over time AT ALL, which we usually need to get by. I hate it.

Anyway, congrats on the loss!!!!!! Way to go!! Keep it up, I know you can do this. We'll be good for now and splurge on cheesecake together in Feb. ;)

No dentist yet. But thanks for the well wishes. This time next week I should be pretty miserable. LOL

Thanks for the info on that site. I'm going to check it out. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is having a good healthy weekend. I've been busy so far today, but I did walk.

Talk to ya'll later.

Morning well I was at 154.2 today so hopefully it sticks till tomorrow which is my official weigh in. We shall see. I am feeling a little better although last night I did get a headache but hopefully I am going to attempt a workout tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good day yesterday and has a good day today. We are about to go to church here in a minute. Take care and see you guys later.

Hello, finally a moment to relax. Everyone is off to bed. Yeah!

Hey Kelly, I didn't get a chance to tell you so, but I was thinking about you and your daughter and hoping everything would turn out okay. Glad to hear that she is home safe and sound for now and hopefully learning and growing from the experience. It sounds like she is a little girl that has had a lot to deal with and she is lucky to have you and her Dad to be there for her.

I really have two struggles, and I have shared with you that one of them is the salty snacky thing while watching TV. The fat free popcorn really satisfies that and is not too bad of a choice.

But...I also have an incredible sweet tooth, and just found another really good remedy that I thought I would share. I have always drank the diet hot chocolate, but now I add in a dollup of Torani's sugar free white chocolate syrup and then dip in a sugar free candy cane. All for a total of 55 calories! Woo Hoo! And it is a rich, delicous, long experience. Having one right now!

That's all for now. Hope you all have a great week. Good luck on your excercise tomorrow Kelly.

I did get in my two walks, one hour long, and then one 1.5 miles, but I did them reversed as my memory failed me. It was not too bad, but my feet are just mildly tender. Also did my weights on Friday and Sunday. It feels like I should be looking buff, but instead I am still flabola. (but not as bad as 4 months ago for sure!)

You ROCK!! Great job on the exercise. :thumbsup2
And that hot cocoa drink sounds excellent.

I did my run yesterday and I'm sad to say my leg has been acting up. Ugh. I'm going to rest for three days to clear this up. I've got three weeks until my half marathon, so should be plenty of time to recover and be ready. But I will take any pixie dust you can send my way. ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Morning all. Thanks so much Tracy!! As I posted on the other thread we had a REALLY good session at church last night so I am really encouraged and while there are still a LOT of doubts in the back of my head I am hoping for the best.

But anyway as far as THIS thread goes today is my official weigh in and I was 154.4 this morning. So up 2 oz from yesterday but since I don't count day to day weigh-ins that is irrelevant. I believe last monday I was 156 or something so I am officially down 2 lbs from last monday. I seriuosly doubt I will go down 2 lbs from now on because usually 1 is the MOST I can lose in a week. Technically I was 155 for most of the time BEFORE I weighed in but Monday I was reading high for some reason because the VERY next day I was back to 155 so in actuality it is probalby more like a 1 lb loss but since I was reading 156 for quite a long time before I will take the 2 lb loss.

Anyway I am still hurting a little from my issues but I am going to "attempt" a workout. I haven't worked out in MONTHS so I know for the first week or two it is giong to be difficult. I am probably not going to have a lot of engergy and I certainly don't want to overdo and hurt myself and on top of it I STILL have my bladder problem which made me have to stop before SO I don't even know if I will be ABLE to do it till after I get it fixed but I am going to try! Even if I can only do something small I want to at least TRY to get some movement. I do do housework and have to go up and down our stairs several times a day so it is not like I am completely sedentary all day but still I want MORE movement. I just wish that I didn't get so many headaches or have this issues that affects me even WALKING because it makes it so hard to do much. But again I am going to try and see how it goes! Wish me luck :)

I went back and found Monday's thread and it was 157.4 so that is a 3 lb loss but as I said that was WAY off the norm cuz the very next day I was 155 so anyway that is pretty crazy cuz I was 156 the day before and then 155 the NEXT day so I think that particular day was not a very accurate reflection and I think I was PROBABLY more like 156 and I lost between 1 to 2 lbs but anyway I wanted to go back and check exactly what it was but anyway I will be interested to see what if any I will lose by next week. IF I can loose anymore that is. Shall be interesting. :)

GREAT job on the weight loss! :thumbsup2
Congratulations on sticking with the healthy eating through such a challenging week.

I'm a little bit grumpy today. I did my run on Saturday, but my leg has been hurting all weekend. And I ate badly all weekend which showed up in a 2 lb. gain this morning. Plus, I have a cold. Does anyone have any cheese to go with this WHINE?

My biggest goal for this week is just to get my foot and leg back to normal to finish up my 1/2 marathon training. Healthy eating and weight loss back to my plateau would be nice as well.

HAPPY MONDAY LADIES!

It is never too late to start

Oh man don't you hate when you have a bad weekend of eating and it shows on Monday! That's why sometimes I hate having my weigh-ins being on Mondays but I just look at everyday as a new day and I can usually get it back off again by eating good and burning it back off.

I KNOW you can do it with all the good working out you do. Sorry about your leg. I have REALLy bad knees and I haven't even been working out and they have been throbbing.

I am about to start my workout here in a minute so I don't know how they will take it but wish me luck ;)

Hope you start to feel better and don't beat yourself up about the gain. We all have those days but I KNOW you will get it right back off and then some. And I've SEEN your pics so you don't even look like you even need to lose any anyway! ;)

Take care and see you later! :)

I needed this quote. For some unknown reason I have been in a funk all weekend and so far this morning. I need to snap out of it and get back on track.

I hope everyone is doing better then me.

Wendy, January, Cristabel, etc where are you? I hope things are going ok for y'all.

Amy

I had some Miltons english muffins with tuna and cheese (tuna melt)- some fat free sliced mixed in with left over New Years cheese- it was pretty good. Hey I found out by people posting about Hickory Farms on the budget board that cheese stuff last a long time if unopened, so I guess I'll just stash the stuff away for the trip. Light at the end of the Holiday food tunnel...

Just a quick check-in with you.

I'm still not feeling very well for some reason, but I think I'm getting better.

Oh crud, you know what?.......maybe I'm not feeling well because I haven't been taking my daily multivitamin?!!! I thought it was because I just wasn't over my flu yet, but this could be it too.

Well, DOH!:headache:

Okay, nevermind......ignore me.......going to take my vitamin now.:rolleyes1

Capri, I am so bad about not taking vitamins. I always forget!

Hi everyone!! I hope you are all doing well. Come on, don't let that determination we all had after January 1st fade away already!! :cheer2:

I've been walking. So that's good. I've also made some really poor food choices though, so that's bad. But I refuse to give up!!
